Thanks again Mr. Herzog For me it is an excellent class measurement. The items displayed for you really are very helpful. I assure you that there are many people using these, at least around here. I very alert to watch. good day
I just got my machine in, should I take it apart and check the extruded dovetail (p/n 200-48)? Also the only dial indicator I have is the kind that is pushed straight through so I was thinking about indicating the bottom of part number 200-44 from the X axis to tram the head. Will this be accurate? Is there a better way to do it with that type of indicator?
noshortnamesleft atall Do it the way as shown. The type of indicator does not matter. If you just purchased a new machine it is very close as is. Part # 200-48 is put on with a jig that lines it up with the Z slide.
Just got my New 5019A CR unit from Taig.with ball screws. Taig did a magnificent job packing & sending me my unit. A senior newby when it comes to this area. In the process of assembling the machine. First of all, how do I get the table assembly squared to the steel column assembly. I would think that this would be the first thing that this senior should know how to do before I fool around with squaring up the dove tail plate. I can eyeball the column & table assemblies ???? Thank you for this excellent video on the dove plate. But I think I'm missing something. KP USAF 62-66
Indicate up and down on the "Z" slide assembly (The Piece Behind The Black DoveTail). The dovetail is lined up pretty close from the factory these days. I'll make a video this coming week on how to line up the "Z".
Fortunately I found a Taig Setup video posted here on UA-cam that explained the out of box assembly & setup of the Taig.:)Once I get that done will be Then I'll work on the dove tail, if needed. Thank you so much for your assistance. Very nicely done!

Your videos are most helpful and informative - an indispensable education. I'm so glad you made them and did such a fine job. Thank you.

Interesting tip about the ER adaptors. Sort of a quick change tool system.

Hey john where can we purchase those adaptors for lathe spindle? Thanks
Email Craig at taigtools@aol.com and ask for the 1045ER www.taigtools.com/c1045ER.html ( Remember, they are for the 3/4 16 HeadStock)
I'm not seeing the 3/4 16 Headstock on the website. is it part 300-00?
Go to Micro Lathe 2 parts and choose the 100-00 option
