Looking good Andrew. I decided to splash out on a set of Gurney Eagle alloy valve covers from Tornado, which with VAT and U.K. postage cost about £700 😱. They came in raw ali, so like you I painted them and rubbed down the wording and fins and looked great, all ready to fit with new gaskets and breathers from Real Steel. The covers come with the long bolts needed but nothing else. To say fitting was a challenge is putting it mildly. I expected a 5 min job each side with 6 bolts, but the huge thickness of the walls of the covers caused them to foul badly on the rockers to such an extent the bolt holes would not line up at all. I called Andy at Tornado and only then did he tell me this is a common problem and I need to file away the insides to get clearance! Hours and hours of work then ensued with a rotary file and huge amounts of material has to be taken off to get proper fitment so the rocker arms didn’t hit the covers. My valves are standard size so not caused by oversized valves and rockers. They look great now, but so disappointed that I wasn’t forewarned given the huge cost of these. Just letting others on here know in case you are tempted to do likewise.
Rocker covers look fantastic. Was hoping you were going to sand the tops off. The brushed aluminum (as opposed to polished) look perfect with the satin black. Your balancer needs a shot of black or silver though. That is really going to shine when the Webers go in.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about your trouble Doc, that's a real shame you had such a battle to fit them.
The engine is going to look so good along with the rest of the car. Can’t wait to see the new carbs on board! Great work Andrew 👏👏👏👌☘️
Thanks Peter, getting to this stage has been great, the installation, plumb and wire will be time consuming
Andrew. Great work as always. I particularly like the way the rocker covers turned out !

Looking sharp and crisp. Love the rocker covers, great job.
Thanks John, how long they last in this condition will be the acid test! Haha
