CeraVe is getting a bit out of hand with their prices when it comes to actives. They make solid basic products, but they should stick to basic prices.
1:46 I had the same experience when I asked CeraVe the percentage of the AHA’s in this product, and they had the same response. Very disappointing because I am sensitive to AHA’s, so it put this product out of the question for me. Hate this lack of transparency common in many skincare brands, so I am avoiding CeraVe from now on.
I'm so tired of the response that it is "proprietary" It just makes them sound lazy and uncaring. - I wish all brands did what Good Molecules does and list the percentage of every single ingredient.
@@NOBSBeauty same! i hate having to reach out to brands to ask for the concentration of actives only to be ignored
Also sodium hydroxide is a base, and so it raises the pH rather than lower it. It's interesting they used so much to raise the pH above the effective range.
I was so excited for this, but every time i used it on a zit it only made it worse. it was too much
I searched for the percentage of glycolic acid and found a site from the UK that said it was 3% glycolic and 2.5% lactic acid. Maybe in Europe they are required to provide that info? The website seemed like it was a medical institution, but I really don’t know how accurate the information is.
Unfortunately, PC's bha liquid wrecked my skin. I'm currently using the Neutrogena Stubborn Blackheads Daily Serum, and my skin seems to tolerate it much better. You should do a review on this product as well!
I'll have to check that one out for sure. I wonder what happened with the PC one- was it just a bitt too harsh for your skin?
@@NOBSBeauty Yes, maybe it was too harsh, or maybe something just doesn't agree with my skin. I have used the PC liquid in the past, but this time I was getting more breakouts than before. It was the only difference I had made in my routine for the last month. Once I stopped and switched to the Neutrogena serum, my skin has gotten much better. I'm now just finishing up the PC on my body. Seems to be working great for shoulders, back, bum, thighs, etc. Going to try the Neutrogena Stubborn Acne body spray next, and continue with the serum for my face. 👍
This is Gonna b so Helpful Sarah🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Monday😀….
Thanks, Sarah. Derma rest gel has 4 pct salicylic acid in the ingredient list. Good product. Too strong to use on large areas. Just spots.
I'm going to have to check that one out- for a while I'd been looking for another 4% BHA product because the PC one is pricey so going to add this to the list! Love using it on my hyperpigmentation!
My skin is getting dry and peeing off. Is that good😢?? Please reply
They have to mention the salicylic acid because it's marketed as an acne treatment, and thus a regulated drug.
I have just started using this and noticed that I am severely purging. Is this normal?
Thanks Sarah!!
You are so welcome!! 😘
After Hyram hyped them up mercilessly during the pandemic, they changed a bit as a brand, imo. Prices crept up and they had some weird launches. Though I know some of the price increases are just inflation, but in reality most inflation these days is the result of corporate greed. That said, the pH thing here is so strange. It leaves a bad taste, I hope they don't continue that practice of not disclosing about ingredients because of 'proprietary' info.
Are they on drugs? 3 or 4 times a day? I really don’t like the direction CeraVe is going, so back to LRP for my silk smooth tinted SPF 50 ❤
good job sarah!!
would you say you like this or the glow recipe strawberry smooth serum?
If your skin tends to be sensitive I'd probably recommend the CeraVe. The Glow Recipe contains fragrance, it also uses encapsulated salicylic acid, which I (personally) am not sold on being super effective.
Eucurin made a new tinted mineral SPF suposedly it's sopose to be good Dr Drea said but it's a spf 35.
I can't away from PC for BHA products I kinda want to try the isntree chestnut 2% toner though.
doctor drea?
I’ve been using the LRP efeclar serum. This is 1000 times better!
This has nothing to do with this video but, do you know how to minimize or shrink forehead wrinkles? YOU DON’T HAVE ANY!!! Also, can you recommend anything for acne on my 10 year old that’s safe??
I always look at the wrinkle between my eyebrows, but it's funny how we are always our own worst critic. I do think some of the peptide products have helped with my forehead and firming skin.
For your child, I'd probably start with an acne cleanser. That is the least harsh way to start and might be all that is needed to clear things about. The CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser is a good option. Tula also makes one- the Tula Keep it Clear Acne Foaming Cleanser. Both are wonderful products. Just be sure to start slow with it, maybe twice a week for the first few weeks. Give it about a month before deciding if it helped or not. If that doesn't seem to help, Peach Slices makes some very gentle acne products. I'd probably try their Acne Oil Free Moisturizer. If it's still stubborn after trying a few things seeing a derm can never hurt. Hope this helps, 🤞🤞
@@NOBSBeauty Thank you so much! I love your feedback and trust it too. Send me some of the peptides you recommend for the forehead wrinkles too if you have time.😊
Yesss what peptides do you use. Share please!!!!
So my current favorites are: The Ordinary Buffet Copper Peptides Serum, the Sur Medic Azulene Soothing Peptide Ampoule, the Mary and May 6 Peptide Serum, the Purito Centella Unscented Serum, and the PSA Skin Visible Improvement Peptide Serum. You can't go wrong with any of these!
@@NOBSBeauty Thank you!!
I can’t use aha or bha because my skin is acting weird lately. I tend to use green tea toner instead like the Isntree one.
Does your skin tolerate azelaic acid at all? That might be worth considering.
@@NOBSBeauty yes I have been meaning to give it a try and see if it will work out for my skin
I think CeraVe is so over priced.
The large-sized cleansers are a good value, so are the basic moisturizers. Everything else, i agree.
Agree 100%
It’s literally not 😂😂😂
Certain products are getting really expensive, but their cleaners and moisturizers are an incredible value. Comparing direct price they may seem expensive, but the size is much larger typically.
certain products I agree but overall not really.
Can you use the paula choice prior to your retinal?
i don’t believe retinal and salicylic acid have any conflicts with eachother. however, the products might have different pH’s, so let the paula’s choice dry down completely before applying the retinal. be careful though, as salicylic acid and retinal are both strong actives, so patch test this a couple times first to see if your skin handles it well!
Generally, it's suggested that any retinol/retinal/retinoid should not be combined with any exfoliating acids in the same routine. The possible increase in irritation may compromise any beneficial results. It's also a gamble you're taking with how stable the vitamin A will be when used in combination with an acid product. You can try applying acids like BHA in your morning routine before sunscreen, and then use your retinoid the same night. If irritation occurs, you can try alternating every other night: Retinoid one night, acids the next night, repeat. You may even want to add a third night in between without any actives to let your skin rest.
For some people this might work, it probably depends on a few things: 1. how sensitive your skin is, 2. how long you've used exfoliants and retinoids, and 3. How strong with retinal you use is. For some it might be okay and for others it could be too much and too drying. I typically alternative evenings on my retinoids and exfoliants.
I find that most cerave stings me a ton. Disappointing.
I've heard this is an issue for a lot of people. I think it might be one of the penetration enhancing ingredients they use.
