    THANK YOU! I’ve not seen anyone show,, nor explain, how to put stitches back on the needle, when a mistake has been made. I end up tearing the whole project apart, because I always mess it up. Your method just saved me from tearing 412 rows out. THANK YOU, again!

    Haven't done any knitting for about 8 yrs .I've watched so many UA-cam videos to refresh my memory. I absolutely love your knitting patterning for a baby blanket. It is easy to watch and follow, and remember the stitches to the pattern by watching your video only twice .Other youtube videos i had to watch the video about 100 times over and over .lol to follow the pattern for a baby blanket. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making Knitting FUN again .I am absolutely hooked 🪡again

    If you just slip the first stitch of every row it will make a beautiful edge. It also makes the next stitch easier to handle or knit, a very nice lady passes this idea on to me many years ago.

    That tinking trick was awesome. I realized I missed a yo and had to frog so many stitches. I followed your instructions for tinking and was able to get back on track much more quickly! I used to be afraid to do yo because I thought it was hard! Thanks for making this so easy. I have 53 stitches on my needles right now and am working toward my 207(?). This is definitely a challenge for me and I will be successful!
    Thanks,
    Leslie🙂

    Thank you so much. I have been looking and watching so many videos on how to make a blanket without having to patch them all together. I am a beginner and ended up getting the interchangeable set and used a 40 to make it as long as I could I used the size 11 needle with chunky yarn so I couldn't get 207 but I'm pushed it as far as I could go and got around 125 and ended up being a really good size for a baby blanket and nice and thick and warm. The premier yarns are great due to the are multicolored and can create nice designs. I did have to use about 3 skeins to complete it but I'm so proud of how it turned out. Now my granddaughter wants one as well so I'm starting another. Thank you again this design is perfect for a beginner since it's all done in knit stitch and I really haven't gotten the hang of perls yet. ❤️

    I just want to thank you for making this video. I’m starting my first project ever and I went through three different tutorials on how to start the stitches and had to restart four times today before I found your video. The way you explained and showed the instructions is what helped me get two successful rows tonight. 🥰

    I just finished this Easy Peasy Baby Blanket and it turned out GREAT! Its very large - exact measurements are 45"x 49". I followed the pattern directions and used 12 skeins of chunky yarn so also quite expensive but worth it I think. This is my very first project and took me quite some time (mistakes had to be fixed by an expert knitter on quite a few occasions) but I'm really happy with it. Wish I could post a photo here. Thank you for your excellent direction!

I was told it did and have learned a few of them but it did take me a while to learn one way and once I learned to do it I thought how simple it was to make. You are a very good teacher at knitting and take your time.I started knitting to give me something to do but to also leave something behind for family and friends to remember me by. Hi I loved the video it’s very informative. This is my first project ever...
    I’m trying to knit a baby blanket as well using bernat baby 6 bulky with needles size 10 ( Although it was suggested to use 8 mm )
    I started with 15 stitches not knowing what I’m exactly doing. I have now 51 stitches ( by having yarnover mistakes I suppose I wasn’t exactly planning on it )
    Is it worth continuing or will I encounter problem when downsizing?
    Also in that case, how many stitches should I reach before starting to decrease ? Thanks again

    • @SweetSouthernArtbyMJ
      @SweetSouthernArtbyMJ  4 роки тому +8

      I’m so glad you are starting with this project! It’s really a simple first project but my suggestion would be to start again and only start with 5 stitches regardless of needle size. The blanket is a square and you are starting at a corner...every row will increase by one stitch because of the yarn over. I recommend in the video knitting until you have 207 stitches and then begin to decrease (video 2 is on my channel)...but you can begin decreasing at anytime if you feel it will be large enough as you will be looking at half of it...just make sure you have an odd number of stitches on your needles when you begin your decrease. Hope this helps! Happy knitting!

      Hi, I would start the blanket and when you get to the size you think looks right start the decrease…just make sure it’s an odd number that you have on your needles. You are knitting a square from one corner

    • @SweetSouthernArtbyMJ
      @SweetSouthernArtbyMJ  4 роки тому

      Thats a great question....I guess it depends on how lard you want it...I would start by tripling the size to see if that give you the size you want...so cast on 15 and knit until you have 621 stitches on the needles. You will need the largest set of round needles you can find though. Let me know if you do it!

      Oh good...I just went in and typed the pattern directions into the video.
      Yes, you can use any kind of yarn you would like..I think the double knit is a lighter weight so it might end up smaller but you can always keep adding rows until you get it as big as you want it then start the decrease.

      @@emilyangell9912 yarn over one time at the beginning of each row. "Tink" is knit spelled backwards, and you are, in effect, knitting backwards when you have to remove stitches for a do-over. I learned that from another UA-cam knitting teacher, Very Pink Knits.
