Loving the upgrades to the FL5. The induction noises are so good! Can't wait to see what else is in store! Also, if you're looking for a new impact wrench, I just got a new Milwaukee 2962 Mid-Torque 1/2 inch. with 650 ft/lbs max torque. Its been so good at breaking nuts and bolts.

The volume and plate on the inlet are definitely to add heat to incoming air. There’s no way to cool fresh inlet air with anything that’s inside the engine bay, much less sitting on top of the turbo turbine housing.

I’ve spoken with a couple of reputable tuners/parts manufacturers about the stock FK8 intake as opposed to the aftermarket options. Basically the stock intake is the best for performance unless you’re wanting a cosmetic/sound change. Makes sense when you think about how much money a company like Honda spends on development etc.. To each his own. I like both approaches. I’m considering a Jet Hot coated stock FK8 or FL5 intake on my 21 Accord 2.0t if it’s an option/No fitment issues. Coating the heat shield,turbo,downpipe,etc. is something I’m considering to reduce the under hood temps but I’ve also been told that there may be not a huge benefit/for cost by doing so. I’m learning as I go but it always seemed that reducing the incoming air temp that’s located directly above the turbo might be a good thing. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a Varis vented hood for the Accord that they made for the FK8 and is similar to the new FL5’s design with the venting being placed over the turbo. I know it’s apples and oranges but just weighing the best options for performance/cooling…

That hole in the one inlet is to help reduce turbulence with the MAF sensor and be able to tune the car unlike the FK8 that had major turbulence issues, hence many people had to replace the housing to a bigger one to smooth out air flow.

Just ordered PRLs full cold air intake and turbo blanket for my Si. Hire this dude ASAP! Someone has also come up with the way to disable the exhaust valve on civic XI.

Have yall tried with out using the Type R mode? I just bought one and I noticed that I get more boost PSI out of my sport mode than I do in Type R mode.
PRL definitely know how to make the best parts I buy from them as well. That kit looks amazing I'm jealous! I still drive a 8th gen Si boosted at 11 psi with a log manifold and there is no room for anything.

The little intake "cooling" thing you guys got rid of was most likely to reduce induction noise, thats why you can hear the turbo a lot more now.
It doesn’t cool, it holds a small pocket of air for throttle response. Pop in a drop in filter and it’ll sound the same.

The cooling plate on the cold air intake is so that the heat flow up and not obstruct the cooling
