    I have a favor to ask:
    How do you pronounce "lily" as "responsibility", "ability or "formality"?
    For me, a Japanese, it sounds like "lildy".
    Does it have anything typical in American English?
    Thank you in advance.

    The ending sound in memorial does not rhyme with the eel sound at all. They are quite different. It is me-mor-yal not me-mo-reel, isn't it? Yet, you are my greatest coach ever. I do love u and your crystal clear voice.I have gained tons of knowledge form your coaching on American accent.

    9:54 I hear "i+al" but not "eel" - mater+i+al. And so in all similar examples

    • @ClearEnglishCorner
      @ClearEnglishCorner  5 років тому

      It's a super quick "eel." The sounds come much quicker in the suffix. The word "eel" would have a more prominent E as in GREEN sound because it would be emphasized. However, I use the example to draw attention to the sounds themselves, which are the same, and for the opportunity to share a pick of the wee bit creepy and fascinating sea creature... 😊
