    I don not unterstand why Englis shools teach formal English if spoken Englsih is totally different. It is frustraiting. I think I wuold never going to learn how to speak English.

    • @ClearEnglishCorner

      Yes- I can understand how frustrating this would be. Spoken English is so different in so many ways from written... You have to completely train your ears to hear in a new way...

    • @ClearEnglishCorner
      @ClearEnglishCorner  6 років тому +3

      Yes, sachin dey, I sure did! Fantastic listening! 😊 You are hearing the reduction of "should have" as well as the final T at the end of "thought" becoming a Flap T (quick D) and linking over in front of the reduced word "of" becoming a schwa to sound like "thou-da." Nice job!!!

    • @camilo.decaro
      @camilo.decaro 6 років тому +1

    To master these reduced pairs, is not an easy task for me. First, I heard about this issue it was long, long ago. The new words have been difficult to memorize. Then, my ears are not good enough to notice every usage of informal language in sentences. The progress is extremely slow. Long route ahead of me.

I don'y know if "proper" is the right adjective though... It's more just "common." It is certainly not improper to fully pronounce these word combinations. Does that make sense?

    Dear Keeenyn, I thought that kind of butchering the language was for hillbillies, so I have avoided using it for years. Just like ain't, a really shortcut, but wrrong!! In England don't talk that way or do they?
    It would be good to have a list of frecuent phrasal verbs explained the way you did: "10 frequent phrases verbs"
    I greatly appreciate your effort to help the ones that don't know better or not at all!!
    Now, I'm repeating AFTER YOU EVERYTHING, 7 or 8 times, or somtimes, until I get blue on my face!!!!
    Spanish pronunciation can be learned in no time at all!!,since is a phonetic language. No wonder Anglos have problems learning Spanish, there are only 5 wowel sounds a,e,I,o,u. They can't believe it!!
    Again, thank you very much indeed, and congratulations for your well thouhgts videos. Yes,the best around.

      It takes a lot of deliberate, repetitive practice before you would start naturally using these types of combinations in your everyday conversations...

    Hi! I have one stupid question, but I have it 😂. How do you pronounce "to"? I hear something like "tju" or soft "ch".

    • @ClearEnglishCorner
      @ClearEnglishCorner  5 років тому +1

      In almost all instances "to" will reduce to "tuh" /tǝ/ or "duh" /dǝ/ depending on the surrounding sounds. Stay tuned for a more in depth lesson on the very common word!
