9:26 this is awesome! See, I've been doing isometrics since I was a teenager (learned it from Dragon Ball Z, well, mainly from DBZ). And I've always concerned myself because, at least for me, it's easy to build muscle with isometrics, but I've always been concerned with strength of movement.
      .
Btw, if you are wondering how I learned from DBZ, you know, they power up by yelling and flexing. Most people focus n the yelling, I focused on the flexing. Just try keep the head and neck relaxed. Specially flex the neck. Then I learned to flex specific parts of my body until they shake. But it was more a curiosity than genuine interest. What I did for genuine interest was I flexed and pretended that was kaioken. Then I flexed harder and pretended that's ssj1, then flexed even more and pretended that's ssj2. And so on. Always not letting the pressure get to my head, of course.
      .
The cool thing about it is, I flexed so much, when I relaxed, the muscles were swollen XD

That's because the military goes for endurance and stamina not necessarily strength. Also a bit of advice build up your muscle mass because then you would have a large base of muscle to work with that you can then train without worrying about fluctuating gains. It's like collecting lots of clay and then you start sculpting cutting away the excess and molding the rest into what you want. Cardio and calisthenics and weight lifting is a damn good combo for any activity you plan on doing. For cardio long walks to get the blood flowing is best since it's easy to Pace your breathing and you can feel the blood circulate through your muscles a feeling of fullness throughout the muscles of the body. Then you fast walk. And then a short run. Jumping jacks are good exercise too. Especially when you bend your knees while doing them. Do as many as you can at a manageable pace for five minutes. Body weight squats, push ups planche for 30 seconds.

Search for Stew Smith, he has tons of books, programs and such l, exclusively aimed at helping people get fit for military service and LE.
With programs to help you reach things like acing the Rangers battalion requirements, the SEALs, Police SWAT, FBI HRT, etc.
From my experience, having seem mad ripped people with me during military service, they lost like 60% of their beefiness.
It sheds away in a way, but they'll get back to being beefy once they passed all their training.
It's overall better to be lean and athletic and then once you're in, get "big".
Tbf if you look at pics for SOF operators, only a small percentage are really beefy.

When I run, and I've been running long distances for years now, I never even consider stopping, and I never did. Not even once. When I decide to run, I am aware that no matter what, even if I throw up and every muscle fiber begs for me to stop, I never do, not until I run the entire distance.
I also really dislike treadmills and love training in the rain/snow. Makes me feel like Rocky. As by your advice, I've been taking cold showers for years, so no matter the temperature, I never break.

And thank you for always emphasizing the importance of warming up.
Also, I think you alluded to it, but it's worth pointing out that strength also tends to be movement specific. People see others who are monsters at certain lifts and aren't that big and are in awe. But they don't realize that person probably trains that movement alot, and could be sacrificing other areas of development as a result.

Honestly a big part of power and small size is just knowing how to move your body, the technique in how to punch correct and kick correctly is so under rated by casual fans. You can be half the size in muscle to someone else and still hit harder, if your technique is better, we have literal clips of this to prove it.

So I’m going to share a story that’s a little bit related to the video.
So I was out in this park, and right after a bunch of people wearing white helmets and blue jackets went to the park and cut down all the tall overgrown grass. And I was just taking pleasure in the new environment, when suddenly. I noticed a piece of steel, I picked it up out of curiosity and it’s steel, although I’m not sure of its purposes. But it’s steel and it’s literally BENT. There’s two reasons.
Number one. One of the cleaning crew bent it, or it just was that way. But considering the fact that there wasn’t any thing that could’ve bent it, I just think that it’s a demonstration of labour strength imo. I don’t know.

every time i watch one of your videos i start watching one afte another of the older videos... revisiting this video i got a new question... if someone did for example bodybuilding type of routine for the legs for example... but a power lifter type of training for the upper body... and they ate slightly more than normal... would they get bigger legs and stronger arms that do not get that big? or the other way arround... like... you do bodybuilder arms training or whatever... the point is... can you choose to split your training like that to hit diferent muscles differently?

I do get why people wanna be big, I really do, and it’s fun to be a bigger dude, I was throughout high school, wasn’t the most muscular guy, but being big, muscular and strong is good during those times.... it really does get tiring at one point though. I had to do it pretty much as a job for Football, gotta be bigger to play Offensive line, which is fine, but because of how big I was, sometimes it’d cause problems for me, couldn’t run that fast, I had to go from Large to XL, and overall just kinda didn’t feel great on my body. The summer after I got out of HS, I dropped hella weight, went from 230 in July to 200 at the end of August, and I’ve been doing a pretty good job staying there. I’m really looking to drop to about 190 now. I honestly don’t care about getting major abs, but I wanna at least look skinnier for myself, which is happening and I’m happy about it

@@narutsushrestha6737 Do a different kind of push up other than the normal kind that you cannot do more than 6 reps with. Unless you can't do more with normal push ups. It's all about the intensity of the work out rather than the amount of times you can do it.
So let's say you can do 8 normal push ups rather easily, just doing 6 normal push ups all of a sudden won't get you the strength and power Jax is talking about, but let's say navy seal push ups you can barely do 5 without dropping down and panting your guts out, that's the one you want to do.
