The SW9VE can be changed from a 'good' pistol to a near-excellent pistol with a couple of minor tweaks. Learning trigger control is never bad. The trigger can be smoothed and lightened easily; a defensive pistol doesn't require a target trigger. And correct, SW9VE is as reliable a semi-auto pistol as was ever made. Nuff said.
'Ran absolutely flawless', but still you say it's only 'OK'. Newsflash: This is a rock-solid gun that always goes bang. As good as a Glock at 1/3rd the price, just picked up my second one for $200 (NEW in box, never fired)
Haha, nope had 2 of these and the sw40. My stock glocks definitely out perform them and alot more reliable. These are not worth the money save and buy an m&p or glock
I have Glocks, Sig, Kahr, Ruger and this SW is one of my favorite weapons. Trigger pull/sights are a non issue for me. It is smoothe, accurate, eats all ammo. I'm not a gun snob, I lived is the UK/EU for many years and the fact I can own anything is an absolute dream come true.
I bought one used for $229 a few days ago. Bought one brand new 10 years ago for $299. Excellent pistol for the money. In this day and age... Never can have too many guns.
I bought one new 12 years ago when I was looking for a cheap 9mm pistol. Since then I’ve shot about 10,000 rounds through it, mostly reloads with cast bullets. It’s always run flawlessly and the accuracy is about the same as any other striker fired pistol. As for the trigger, if you are used to shooting revolvers double action, it’s fine. A very good and very underrated gun.
I have one. Have always liked the ergonomics. S&W has never made a striker fired pistol with a good trigger until now with the 2.0 models. My Sigma is 9 years old and like a new gun. I installed an Apex trigger enhancement kit and put in a steel guide rod. Also installed night sights. It's as good as any Glock.
owned one for the last twelve years or so , a couple thousand rounds thru it and not one single malfunction. at all. no matter what ammo, its eats anything . its accurate and a good lookin gun. i did replace the recoil spring with a glock 19 gen 3 spring but that was just preventative . i own several flocks and other makes but still carry it often. sd mags fit this and cdnn often has them for 15 bucks .
Being a reloader, I discovered that mine hates Berry 9mn 124 grn JHP. Won't feed them for shit. Loves Rainers through. For factory ammo loves the Winchester PDX 1
I’ve had one for about 10 years. It’s never given me any grief. I will say due to the trigger it’s not my favorite pistol to take target shooting because after a few magazines your finger is worn out but I really don’t believe that would bother me in the least if I needed it in a situation.
I've had one for years and never had a complaint about it. But I never see them anywhere or hear them talked about, its always the M&P. I thought maybe I just don't know a good pistol from a bad one? Nope this is a solid piece of hardware.
Got one for $315 with 1 mag at local gun show also got a bryco arms j -22 for $125 and a single shot Iver arms 12 gauge from 1919 for $75 but need to fix the cracked stock and sand off rust still decent price for a old single shot
I pick one up, it's a great reliable, inexpensive carry in your car gun. I use Underwood Xtreme Defenders and it cycles them with no problems what so ever.
There's an easy mod you can do where you take a spring out of the trigger to help the pull. Reset is still long but Waaaaaay better pull through for shot.
😆 long story short, II came into possession of my brother-in-law's pistol.. I legit thought there was something wrong with the trigger. And that's why I'm here.. And that slide spring?? WTF???
I'm doing a trigger spring upgrade on a Sigma SW9VE right now for a friend, and the first thing I noticed was the way the slide fits onto the frame. It's like the frame is bowed, with a gap in the middle, large enough to see through. That got me looking around on the internet, and brought me here. Is this something to be concerned about? I'm new to your channel, but am digging what I've seen so far. Thanks for what you do!
The so-called "long trigger reset" is an absolute bogus point for anyone who can shoot a DA revolver in trigger cocking mode. I suppose younger people have never shot a real gun. I used S&W Models 19 and 66 for years to shoot police qualifications and that long trigger pull was never a hindrance to speed or accuracy.
I have this gun and noticed no matter how perfectly i have the sight locked on target it always seems to shoot lower than what I aimed for. I have to raise it above what the sights tell me is dead center in order to hit dead center.
Mt sw40 was complete trash. Jammed with multiple ammo mags would drop out randomly. The sd40ve was a little better but go with the m&p if you get smith and wesson

Smith SD9 mags will work in the Sigma just a different baseplate.
@@leelizardwilcox6271 thank you for posting that , mine only has 10 round mags . So the SD mags are still flawless ?
I have one of these for home defense and I love it. Never had a single problem with it. The trigger pull doesn’t bother me but it is heavy.

I bought mine a long time ago and only has 10 round mags , so will the new mags work in mine ?

I have the SD9VE and love it, Zero fails to date with well over 800+ rounds and mine also shots low and to the left ...
Built to handle 1000s of rounds. A good gun, a Smith. Thanks for the view, UGD
What clip does it take
@@oscarthagool"It takes Glock clips." /S🎉
I got a used SD9VE before the craziness. It runs great probably the best 200 bucks spent.
and now it's the best $300 gun you have. Gun prices are going crazy around here. Thanks UGD
You can do a quick trigger spring diy upgrade. But i like the long travel and relatively high effort needed.

Bought one from older guy who never used it a few years back. This gun feels amazing for me in the hands

Dollar for dollar, you just can't go wrong. They run and that is the number 1 thing a gun needs to do. Thanks ben for the view, UGD
Being a reloader, I discovered that mine hates Berry 9mn 124 grn JHP. Won't feed them for shit. Loves Rainers through. For factory ammo loves the Winchester PDX 1
Man this gun kept me safe for some years
I had my trigger worked on mine . my gun works great.
I hear good things if the trigger springs are worked. Thanks for the view Kimble, UGD
Bought mine day they came out filled out rebate S&W sent me two new clips. No jams at all runs fine.
Great runners, would like to find the newer model in all black. UGD
This why I don’t really listen to these videos the reviews you giving on the good are not good this is a great pistol

I prefer the SW9 over the M&P for sure. UGD

My favorite gun, it just feels right in the hand.
I pick one up, it's a great reliable, inexpensive carry in your car gun. I use Underwood Xtreme Defenders and it cycles them with no problems what so ever.
Xtreme will get the work done. For the money, a really good gun. UGD

I did remove that spring and yep made a big difference. Thanks for the view Pat, UGD
I just bought one for $169 definitely a great piece. It works amazing in my opinion, very effective and smooth just like SUAVE😎
😆 long story short, II came into possession of my brother-in-law's pistol.. I legit thought there was something wrong with the trigger. And that's why I'm here..
And that slide spring?? WTF???
The slide and frame don't appear to match up. Great video as always.
Really, tell me more. Thanks Brooks, UGD

They have changed the slide and grip
I cannot remember how much I paid as it was years ago but I really like it

They only gun I would change the reset would be the SRT in a Sig. Outside of that, learn to run the gun you carry. UGD
I don't "run" my guns. I shoot them.
I honestly prefer a G19 in terms of reliability but this is a beautiful gun with an amazing grip

A apex trigger replacement will help surely I put mine in and my accuracy instantly improved….hopes that helps ya
I got robbed when I bought mine 400.00 and some change now I'm mad 😠
Antonio Kimble you still got a great firearm money comes and goes
Could've bought a used FNS 9C for that amount smh
Yeahh smh I made the mistake of buying this one from a pawn shop of all places and paid $424 used lol never again
Just dropped $400 on one with a single magazine. It's a 2008 and only been fired on one occasion so it's like new.
I love mines
It cost 1500 US dollar in pakistan
Nice piece of machinery
For the money you can't go wrong. Few more rounds down range and I would hit well enough for carry. Thanks for the view, UGD
Nothing wrong with the trigger.
If only it had a safety
Mt sw40 was complete trash. Jammed with multiple ammo mags would drop out randomly. The sd40ve was a little better but go with the m&p if you get smith and wesson
SPONGY TRIGGER. i PUT A NEWER TRIGGER SPRING IN AND IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN TRIGGER PULL
I have heard that. They over sprung it a bit. Thanks for the view, UGD
How much are they ?
200-300
Are you going to do anything new seems all your content is 5 years old, thanks
Good review, hate the proprietary rail and the trigger.
They do run and that counts for a lot. Thanks UGD
great gun!
What kind of clip does it take
The same clip your boyfriend uses in his hair.
Now that the Security 9 ($300) came out this gun is invalid
Security 9 may change a few things in the gun industry. It is a game changer, really a special Ruger. UGD
Happy Independence Day
Back at you. A day when a group of men, a country made a promise to the People, and they backed it up. Damn I love Freedom. UGD

Upscale hi point
Never shot a Hi Point pistol. I did buy a 380 carbine a couple months ago for some damn reason, still working on why. Thanks for the view UGD
what an assinine comment
Upscale hi point hell no I have owned a high point. They don't compete in the same arena .you really believe that.
I like my C9 HiPoint. It's not my personal conceal carry, but I had no hesitation when choosing it to qualify for my LTC.
Got mine for 200 no tax at cash america pawn
