In this video, i share some things to consider before painting your house. Let me know other tips you may have as well
New plastering doesn't usually hold paint well. It's why they recommend a primer which helps with bonding with wall. Even then, l'lI recommend painting after a month or two... a very dry wall.
The paint really matches with your house
Yes it truly does. Thank you
I chanced on your channel not long ago. I must say your channel is excellent.
Thank you 😊
Great
You should have gone for masonry paint for outdoor walls. Made to withstand harsh weather conditions
Very well noted and thanks for sharing
You need to get waterproof from city paints in spintex area
Shield paint be good one
Thanks for the suggestion
Good job done 👍, but I am wondering if you have a video on how to drill your water 💦
We currently don't have q borehole yet. We rather rely on rain water by harvesting some or sometimes buy from a water tanker
I suppose there are factors that needs to be considered for these peel offs other than the brand of paint.
Like someone rightly mentioned in the comments, priming the wall is a necessary factor.
Also, we need to understand the soil profile of the location of the building. Perhaps the peeling off is as a result of dumpness. If that is the cause, the brand of paint may not do much since the real cause has not been dealt with.
If you need professional advice on the subject matter I will be more than glad to assist.
I hope you identify with my views on the subject matter. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment. For now, the issue has been resolved.
Would also be nice to get some basic paint 101 ideas from painters/paint sellers etc
Yes, i agree
Shield Silicone Paint from city paint in spintex Manet junction is premium Ghana paint

Thank you for sharing. This is very helpful, Did you find a better brand that works? Any updates on the paint work now with different brand? What brand have you now used on the homes you are building please?
There are a lot other brands that we've tested and works well, examples are Dulux, coral, leyland, Azaar among others. You only have to know the right type of paint to use for every job
@@IshmealLamptey thank you for sharing, good information
Good video but would like to quickly add up, not all paint are good to go without primer . Like NEUCE u need apply primer before using it
Sure, thanks for the input
👍
Please did you do wall screeding for inside and outside. If yes what materials were used 🙏
We only did for the outside. We used skimming powder ans home champ. But for now, you can only use wall putty.
graphiato paint is the best for exterior walls
Oh i see. Thanks for sharing. I hope it isn't so much expensive
@@IshmealLamptey lol it's quiet 🙂expensive thou but worth it used to be 350gh per bucket
@@sandrabaidoo6387 oh i see. Looks like it wouldn't make the cut for me then.
Shield is premium long lasting see
We have used dulux weathershield and even on timber around the garden where it gets blasted with burning sun and lots of water and so far after 4 years it still looks exactly the same…
I have seen it advertised at coral paints gh…
I looked online at the neuceplus paint you used and I can see it does mention interior and exterior walls as you also said in the video but… that same brand has other products that present more as exterior paints…
I am not sure I would ever personally trust a paint can with an interior wall pictured on the can for use on exterior walls that are exposed to the harsh elements…
Hope you find something that works, thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you very much for sharing this. This is going to be very helpful.
Shield paint be better one because it is made for Ghana weather. It go last long. I be painter 10 years now.
@@johnnyeastregion Australian hot weather is the same as Ghana weather - very harsh sun…. Have you lived in both countries? We have.
Do that kind of paint have lead in it because they said do not paint with the paint that have led in it
I will have to research about that
Thanks bebree for sharing the details on paints. Is painting totally necessary?
You're welcome and thanks for watching as well. Painting is sometimes necessary, depending on the type of paint and the location. Painting helps prevents metal from rusting and sometimes can also serve as a shield to prevent walls from experiencing harsh conditions
So after building a cement block structure and plastering it, it shouldn't be painted? Or we should all build with clay bricks so there's no need for painting? Or what? Please tell us
@@markntiri8251 plastering can be dye or finished with something other than paint. There's a number of options
Sure. The cheapest amongst most of those options is painting. Especially for a 21st century building
@@IshmealLamptey I thinking dye the plastering might be cheaper though
Most foreign paints don't work every well in our hot weather
I agree with you
Shield Paint from Spintex is best for Ghana house
Made in Ghana paint shield paint for spintex for city paints at spintex or tudu get tropical formulated paint
How much is the workmanship
It's been a while, i can't recall please.
Can I get the person do the Pinting number
Nice one. Eii this small paint peel off is what is troubling you?😁 Maybe you're a 'perfectionist', and also there'd be greater peeling off as the days go by. But in the outskirts that you're located, you would encounter lots of 'challenges', so brace yourself
I'm eager to see how a repaint would correct the paint peel off. We also painted our exterior walls. I helped paint. We paid big money to the painter Everything was looking nice until the rains came and now paints been peeling off. Very annoying
We used emulsion. Don't know if paint quality can cause this paint peel off, so that more expensive quality paints can't peel off easily?
Because you know our Ghanaian/African rains don't play. Let's see how your repaint comes out.
Lol, it's not just a small portion. It looks horrible, that's why i want it re-done
The paint quality matters. Some are able to withstand lots of conditions, whil some don't do so well
@@IshmealLamptey I hear you. Let's see how your repaint would do
Not necessarily..but the peel off problem could obviously get worse over time
Good one bro. I'm a painter and i desire you assist to link me up with painters in Ghana. I'm new here
Oh i see. Are you in Ghana?
@@IshmealLamptey sorry I don't know you have replied yes I am in Ghana
I understand peeling of the walls has to do with bacteria found in the soil/sand you use in building. Research further cement eating bacteria
Ours had to do with the peeling of paint instead.
