Thanks Brenda! I pulled the zipper off a small bag I was making about 2 weeks ago and despite a long time trying I could not get it back on. Of course I did not know about your technique. The bag had to be ripped back until I could start over putting the zipper in and attaching the pull at the bottom. Now I can manage to put the pull on in either direction! Thank you so much for making this video and sharing your knowledge.

Hi Brenda, I came across this video in need of help because I ran into the same as some of the people below where I had to take a 72 inch zipper off my project and do it over because after more than an hour of trying to put the zipper pull back on, I gave up. I looked at video after video saying how easy it is, but no one bothered to mention (or maybe they don't know) to open the sides just a bit, and also that a different when the zipper pull comes off the top, rather than the bottom. In any case, after that blunder I was determined to find out how to fix this issue and I am using a test project to follow along with what you are doing. After breaking 2 zipper stops (because I widened them too much) I finally got it. Luckily I purchased a pack of zipper pulls. This video was awesome and it will spare me the anxiety, and save me some time and money if this happens in the future.
