America needs ALL the help it can get these days! EDIT: How many times does Wasp have to yell at Cap and Hawkeye that they need to hold still in order to change places? Sheesh, lady! We get it already!
Man I had forgotten about this game! Awesome job on it too! Thanks again for showing these classics! This was the pinnacle of gaming! The Nintendo NES, then the Sega systems... oops sorry, but I loved the Sports games they had. Even the TurboGraphx-16 had some really good games. Bonk's Adventure was one of my favorites. Man I really miss those days!
2 things I clearly remember from my time playing the game when I was 7: I didn't know english, so the name "Wasp" sounded (and still does) like Captain America had caught a fly with his mouth, and the other things is that Wasp wings looked like two rays of light coming from behind her.
I always thought she was a woman in a room with light tubes above her (Didn't know wasp at the time i played the game). And the response "Roger, wasp" was an english word followed by a onomatopoeia xD. (Didn't knew english also).
It's obviously noticeable how they NEEDED to nerf the team right away, by capturing Iron Man AND Vision outta of the blue. Having said that, I absolutely LOVED this game back in the day, but never managed to finish it because of the absurd difficulty of later bosses and stages. Plus, getting lost on those stages where you needed to disable some levers to progress. Additionaly, I was never good at throwing cap's shield :(
I used to play this game in B/W Tv, the difficulty curve just spikes after 3-4 levels, if only the devs made this game a bit easy to explore and play, would have been even more fun if we got to play as Ironman and Vision after rescuing them late in the game. You are right I totally forgot how this game have many repetitive levels with the day cycle to make it look like a new stages. Although 2 players Vs mode is nice touch.
I agree with your review, making the game stage based, with less levels, and still keeping the bosses might have been better, less of a 'slog' but i figure they wanted to pad the game to say 'look we made a long game'
Yeah, I really don't get it. I mean, most of their NES platformers took 20 or 30 minutes to beat, and that usually felt perfect. This one didn't have the substance to carry it for 3x that length.
Me and my brother would play this and absolutely refused to go to the charleston stage without fully powering up. But the thing I remember the most is that when my brother first saw those things at 14:23 he thought they were springs and tried to jump on top of them 🤣🤣
Galactic Storm is good and all, but DECO made the mistake of releasing it the same year as Street Fighter Zero 2, which had a wonderful hand drawn art style and wicked moves.
@@NintendoComplete good thing about Galactic Storm is Duke Nukem (Jon St. John) and Lani Minella (DN's VO director and a video game VO pioneer) voicing the characters. Oh, X-Men vs. Street Fighter released the same year also had a wonderful art style
i played this game endlessly when i was a kid and i never realized that white character was vision. hell, I'd never even heard of vision when I was playing this game.
I remember visit the same city over and over again to get as many diamonds as possible. They were supposed to be swapped or something...damn😊 What were they for? I rarely played it. Extra lives and weapons?
I remember playing this video game, I liked it a lot but I couldn't complete it because it couldn't save the game. One night I stayed up until dawn playing it and finally I managed to complete it. I felt great satisfaction but the ending was too short, only a final screenshot where they thanked you for having played the game... was a bit disappointing
"AVENGERS ASSEM-- OUCH! GETTING HIT IN THE HEAD BY A STRAY SHIELD REALLY SMARTS!" Uh-oh, there's repetitive music? Oh nooooooo... Bad Data East! You're right, Alex, they SHOULD HAVE known better. Wonder if they had to rush this one out as per contract with Marvel Comics. I hate it when publishers/copyright holders place a strict deadline on stuff...
@@sakuracc8436 True, but that's a pretty low bar to overcome. I can't think of too many developers/publishers worse than LJN. Even companies like Ocean and U.S. Gold sometimes had halfway decent games.
Hmm. I dunno, really. This one starts out much more fun, but if I had to pick out one to sit down and play all the way through, I'd probably choose the SNES game.
Not a *_horrible_* game, but it's very repetitive. You're better off just playing the Arcade game. The soundtrack, however, is excellent (sans the dull boss theme). I really like Captain America's theme in particular.

More than you know.
I don't remember this game as a child but glad to know it exists.
I played this back in 1992. Never could beat it.
This game was a legend. I never associated it with the beat em up version and it worked very well for me
One of the best games i played on nes!i loved this but it took me a lot to learn bosses patterns and beat em!

I thought it was a bug that occurred in the bootleg version I had (I'm also not a English native speaker)
I love this game man. I used to play it on a Dreamcast rom back in the day. Like 22 years ago when i was around 11 years old.
That over world map system is very interesting!
It's like a simplified version of the one in Bionic Commando, especially with this boss fights that move around.

No kudos to Wasp at the end. Y'know, the one who actually freed Iron Man and Vision.
Job well done , Wasp.
54:34 those flying enemies always reminded me of Predator.
one of my favorite nes games, it's a shame you can't choose vision and iron man like in the arcade game
Yeah, it sucks you can 'only' use them in the vs mode which is... silly.
Going to the arcade and playing a game, then coming home and playing the home version and being like, "Waaaaiiit a minute...!"
Seriously, "Captain America and the Avengers"?
More like _Captain American and Hawkeye_ !
I guess because they can fly they would have broken the stage layout.
When I first saw the game, I was bummed that it wasn't a port of the arcade game, but then I was like "Wait. This is really good though!"
The first time you block a bullet with the shield , a whole new world opens. Good game.
Surprisingly a very good game

Thank you! 😊
Played this game as a kid but could never beat it. There wasn’t even Game Genie codes for this game.
Thumbs up soldier
The game has great color palette
It took me a long time to beat this game
The only bad thing about this game is no password system.

hawkeye's theme is kinda sad but yet so beautiful..

Man what a treat seeing the end......my 12...13 years self could never get past the first cross bones boss😠😠😠

I used to play with hawkeye and after two levels u can upgrade his arrows into missiles it was cool. unfortunately no one on UA-cam knows that trick

Hmm... if data east had going for a beat em up instead of a platform... probably too much design flawed. It was a decent choice to a platform.

Collect gems to powerup. Cap got better shield and Hawkeye got explosive arrows.
This game had the most unfair vs mode ever made. Iron man could just fly above and drop shit on Cap and he could never get to him.
