This is so amazing......Michael Brecker was the real deal.
The Breckers and Co. were creating a whole new vibe in the late 70s early 80s. So inspiring and such a joy to witness.
DAMN!!!!! So love this!! Michael Brecker KILLS!!!!! :-)))
Randy is killin' it here. Very tasty. All that Caruso chop work was paying off!
I got this years ago in a trade. I'm a Mike Brecker collector. If you google Michael Brecker live recordings you'll find my site. Regards, Louis.
Louis Gerrits this one came from me ! No idea where I got it from ...
Do either of you have the entire concert?
i am in love with this arrangement
Michaels timing is UNBELIVIBLE!! Not one note that’s not ”locked in” the rythm, no matter how fast he’s playing! I can’t find ANY other saxplayer that can or could do it, living or dead. RIP Michael.
*cough... Coltrane... *cough...
Charlie Parker
But I agree Brecker's time feel is incredible!
I thought Wynton, miles, Hank and John had already said everything, mike and Randy have proven me wrong.
Mikes not mike.
Great Michael Brecker, his sound was so fat at this stage of his playing
His PHAT sound is F’ing FIRE MAN!!!
MUSIC IS NOT COMPETITIONS.... MUSIC IS WORSHIP... EACH ONE CONTRIBUTE FOR A LITLLE OTHER FOR A BUNCH!!!!!
solo de Brecker fantastico!!
Great!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing this video!
Knowing there was a time that Mike Brecker missed altissimo notes gives me hope.
MAN... THIS COLLECTION IS SUBERB!!!!
One of my all-time favorites. Thank you Louis! (and Michael as well of course ;-))
One of my favorite vid' @ the moment ! Thanks so much for sharing Louis !
You're welcome David.
I knew this was great, but seeing the video proves it.A big BRAVO boys!!!
So good groove...
Why would you dislike the video... To those 8 people, just how this is actual fire!
@@MarkTarmannPianoCheck_it_out haha cheers Mark - I had to reply to the monkey8 as they are just stunned someone might have a different opinion. LOL Like obviously these guys can play all day - but it's the arrangement / direction that counts !
Great stuff " .***
that vibes solo tho
Ben Sidran the pianist have to deal with the solo he heared right now and now need to play one of his own. How can you compete with this?
OF COURSE... FOR ME ALL MUSICIANS ARE IMPORTANT, BUT THERE WERE SOME THAT WILL TAKE A CENTURY OR MORE TO ARISE... COME UP... BRECKER IS SOME THING THAT IS... THE BEST OF THE CREAM.
Uno de tantos...Si no el mejor de los birds blancos,el difunto Michael.Es inconfundible....Yo,le oigo y digo...Es el....Tanto en Esteps ahead como a su bola......Hay pocos pájaros de ese nivel....
This is now for sure going in our quintet's set, we are currently working on a Brecker and Berg "paying respect to..." show.
Cheers for this inspiration Louis.
Regards
Ian
Love all of it, but that vibe solo is underrated. Especially after he ditched his 4th mallet at 10:30 and finished it out with 3.
Mike Mainieri is incredible : another superb chorus are with Steps !
1:20
great playing from a man that looks like han solo lol oh mikey you were such a hipster back in the day
Why is this not on Spotify
unfxxxxxreal
Head’s dead!
The first part of Mike's solo is the one you remember since it's the lp version. The extended part is great and very creative in places, but he still looks a bit uncomfortable (after the solo the says something to Randy), not quite sure how far to take it, and instead going back to more standard phrases.
Nice solo from Randy
The solo sounded great nonetheless
It sounds like it just wants to break into 3.
Where did you find this? I have the lp but have never seen a video.
Pretty much a Bebop specialist.
