Scott Henderson said Ted was happiest in his room just learning to play incredible music. Didn't care in the least about "fame and fortune." (or even having a career in 'music'). Just wanted to learn as much as he could. ❤ RIP. 😢

I was going to point out exactly what you mentioned! What a singular talent Ted is. It’s a bit hard to explain to folks today: where do you find anything comparable? Great comment! Cheers
Most beautiful moment and how you know Ted was not only a genius but a truly good person- he looks right at the student with total conviction and says simply “you can do it”
Ted is the opposite of ‘impress me in 30 seconds or less with something physically spectacular…’ Instead, his music is deep and reveals more and more with each listen. I could listen to him play Happy Birthday for hours…
"I still have ten minutes" "You don't but I'll do it anyway" I can't believe we were lucky enough to get this incredible footage, just because Mr Greene was kind and gave extra time to an eager student!
He is just.... beyond category. To know that much, and to be able to so effortlessly turn it into things for his fingers to do, it's almost impossible to believe, but there he is, doing it, like watching someone make a stone hover in the air. It's hard to believe that he and I are the same species of animal.
I'm french guitarist, I took only 2 lessons with Ted at his home. He help me a lot on my comprehension of chords construction, chords melodies. He is of course a exceptionnel guitarist, A genuis like tell Jean Marc my friend but he was a great teatcher too. Thank you Ted, I will never forget you. Pierre.
@@Johnhasa1 you're so fucked bro haha ! learn chords and learn music theory, know each and every interval and the movement of them to create melodies on top of melodies

I'll never comprehend how someone can play walking bass, melody, and chords all at the same time on guitar! Amazing skill and he makes it sound so good!

I've seen just about all of these Tests videos shared by former students over the years and every time I take something new from them, they are that dense. Ted was awesome
Same happened to me. It's 3am and i don't wanna go to sleep since tomorrow is Monday and I kinda hate my job. This video just pops out on my feed and suddenly this world is a brighter, precious place than before. Thanks life

We (society) aren't making anyone like this today. And I fear we never will again. We have people like Jacob Collier, who have technical proficiency that is on another level, but even he lacks the soul that someone like Ted had.

Ted's mention of "nylon string" has to do with range of access on a classical guitar which Cesar normally plays at home. Ted is playing a vintage Guild electric with P-90 pickups. Ted Greene's harmonizations are always delightful to hear. He is endlessly inventive. His imagination knows no limits.
Man its so inspiring, he has the same depth of relationship with his instrument as a master pianist. Puts the rest of us to shame, really.
