Scott Henderson said Ted was happiest in his room just learning to play incredible music. Didn't care in the least about "fame and fortune." (or even having a career in 'music'). Just wanted to learn as much as he could. ❤ RIP. 😢

He is improvising over the changes with chords using counter points. He is talking at the same time .He is changing keys' . He is never repeating himself for 10mn.and each voice leading sounds Great...GENIUS...!!!

Ted is the opposite of ‘impress me in 30 seconds or less with something physically spectacular…’ Instead, his music is deep and reveals more and more with each listen. I could listen to him play Happy Birthday for hours…

He is just.... beyond category. To know that much, and to be able to so effortlessly turn it into things for his fingers to do, it's almost impossible to believe, but there he is, doing it, like watching someone make a stone hover in the air. It's hard to believe that he and I are the same species of animal.

3:12 who deftly comes up with an emergency harmonic device to modulate key centers without breaking the flow of your performance -- ingenious in its co-option of the root of the current key as a pedal tone against which your two keys will be bridged -- literally within seconds, or to be more precise, during the few seconds in which you were also grappling with the sudden realization that playing this standard in this key robs the melody of its capacity to be easily heard and sung. like who does that. don't even answer, i'm only asking for effect.

Ted's mention of "nylon string" has to do with range of access on a classical guitar which Cesar normally plays at home. Ted is playing a vintage Guild electric with P-90 pickups. I'm not sure which model. There is a list of Guild guitars Ted owned posted at www.tedgreene.com if you care to do a little investigating.
