July/Aug 1973 Ford Life magazine has a story about his cars. At the time he had the 30 Cabriolet, a 30 Tudor, the 34 pickup, the Buick convertible, the 1912 Baker Electric someone else mentions (I saw that at Harrah's Museum too) and an English Taxi. He lived in North Hollywood and owned a place in North Carolina where he stored the 55 Ford be bought new.
It also says the first car he bought was a 52 Ford station wagon, two door with overdrive . 52 was when he quit his teaching job to become an entertainer. It says he gave that car to his parents when he bought the 55. And noticing all the cars on his TV show i'd say he's a Ford guy. I already admired him before reading that.
@@MattMorris481 Oh yea....I forgot about his Crown Vic on Matlock! Plus the squad cars on the Andy Griffith Show were Fords as well. I believe they were Galaxies.

I was beginning to think that for a man of his means he certainly was going the cheap route in his car collection... until they finally got to the Packard, that is. Nonetheless, Leno could certainly have shown Andy a thing or two about car collecting. But, of course, Andy was a staunch Democrat, so I guess you can't expect him to know much concerning these things.
As much as I loved the AG Show and old American cars, I lost a ton of respect for Andy Griffith when I saw him and Ron Howard (aka 'Opie') do that campaign commercial for Barack Obama, pushing his Socialist/Marxist "Change" agenda. His wife had a red Bentley and terrorized their town of Manteo
@@jerrycallender9352 Manteo. That sure tells us a lot.
Got any other intelligent contributions?
@@lancasterritzyescargotdine2602 Yeah..I'd see him at Copeland Motors in Virginia Beach with his FIAT X1/9

On TV he used Ford. His daily driver was late model Mercedes Benz C Class. Known fact. Driven in his own community.
Andy seemed to prefer Fords. What kind of surprises me is that there didn't seem to be any Cadillacs in his collection.
He was definitely a ford guy that’s one reason on Matlock he drove a Crown Vic.

Back in the mid-70s I met Andy at a car swap meet near Van Nuys. He was looking for parts for a 1956 Buick.
When you know he was a big weed smoker you can understand “ No Time For Sergeants “😊
Thanks Fusion Kidd !
That was one funny show! Especially the saluting toilet scene!
I read it somewhere ….can’t find it on the internet now …. Maybe it’s not true 😊

Typical Hollywood liberals. Obviously he forgot the wholesome, country lifestyle pushed on the Andy Griffith Show.
Wow, never knew that! I just added 3 more to my shit list, however I never liked Ron Howard so it's actually 2 more.

Anyone who calls Barack Obama a Marxist is likely far more extreme than he ever was.
although I like to watch the Andy Griffith show, he was far from being the salt of the earth.
Andy Grittith was a drunk.
I recall seeing him, drunk, at Copeland Motor Company in
Virginia Beach when he brought his Fiat X1/9 in for service.
