Looking back at it, the fact that AOT manages to reach even higher peaks after this arc is INSANE.
I thought it wouldn't be as exciting as season 3 part 2 but then this anime continues to outdo itself every season. Goated series.
I know, right? Every time I thought "How can this show get any better?" It did.
it didn't though, it has its moments after this but overall it's all downhill from here.
@@moiseman I feel like after the episode Two Brothers is where it declined for me.
@@moiseman Highly disagree. The dip between 4x22 to 4x25 I can understand, but everything else is absolutely incredible.
“do you have any last words?”
-Warhammer’s last words 🤡
You made me laugh so hard that I broke sound barrier
@@q2a4studios54 you best fix it, we need it!
😂
These two episodes actually feel like the real story starting after a prologue
The majority of AoT is like the Golden Age Arc from Berserk and I'm here for it
@@coryblood3065 I love berserk so much, wish it had an anime adaptation as good as aot

YESS I LOVE THE 2 PARTERS
This is why I love rewatching this show through people's reactions to episodes.
In 12:04 - Eren's right eye widens up after he hears "Because I was born into this world". Jon wouldn't understand why until later but DAMN that's an insane detail to put in!
I always thought it was a reminder of his mother saying the same thing, back when Shaadis recalls himself sabotaging Eren's gear. An echo of his mother's worldview as opposed to his father's rage, like Shaadis described it.
I thought the same thing!!! Never noticed that until now
I noticed that this time as well, there's so much to go back and catch in this series it's crazy. There are so many times where the show flat out tells you what's going to happen in the future, but you would never know out of context
This is the exact reason why I'm not a fan of the dub. In s4 e19 (Two Brothers, if I remember correctly) Eren doesn't say, "Because I was born into this world." in the dubbed version.
This is not the only thing that is changed or done poorly, but it's an example that everyone who understands the story telling of this show should understand. People like to whine about sub watchers not likeing the dub. It's not the superficial argument people try to make it out to be. The dub just does not tell the story.
@@anthonygranado60 another one that pissed me off with the dub is in Season 2, when Bertholdt gets told by Armin that Annie is underground being tortured(she wasnt), he says "You Hellspawn", which is does not contribute to the "devils" line that gets hinted continuously, while also at the same time not even sounding like ordinary speech either, so it feels so far off of what I would expect to be said. Yes if you want to TRY and argue that its similar you can, but I'd argue its not similar enough to calling them devils, to the point where it no longer adds a hint of the bigger story.
Eren being the aggressor of a terrorist attack after being on the receiving end of one as a child perfectly portrays to me the cycle of violence that we see in children whose countries are bombed and grow up to join militant groups. Extremism should not be surprising from someone like Eren when given the power they have. On the receiving end of the violence, children like Gabi are just another link in the chain.
He's not the agressor though, he's literally responding to a declaration of war. AND he's targeting military higher ups.
@@moiseman I mean by aggressor, that he's committing the attack instead of being on the receiving end.
And he still killed civilians. He could have transformed in the street beside and attacked the officers from there, but he decided to kill everyone in the building above him and the resulting building falling on people in the crowd. And the stampede, which is he responsible for, injured and killed civilians too. I understand why he's doing it, but that doesn't make it not a terroristic action.
@@chestty455 He had to attack from underneath to make sure he could kill Willy before he had the chance to transform. He wasn't sure which member of the Tybur family had the warhammer titan so leaving him alive for even a few seconds wasn't an option. Besides Marley was using their own civilians as human shields so it's not like there was any way to avoid casualties.
@@nighthawk2548 If Willy had the War Hammer, he had time to quickly transform before he was eaten if he wasn't impacted by shock. Him transforming behind him instead of to the side had no impact as far as my understanding of the layout of the square and stage is. The only good reason I can see for going through the building was to avoid as many guards as possible so to use the cellar room. I think Eren could have found another spot, but had no motivation to.
Yes, Marley was using their civilian population as shields, but that doesn't take away that Eren still chose to act - which led to their deaths. The Marleyan's aren't blameless, but that doesn't take away from my point that Eren initiated this attack and is by all means a terrorist.
@@nighthawk2548 you cant defend a terrorist attack on civilians by saying "well the country treats their people bad anyways" that's a horrible justification .
Another holy grail of three episodes. This show does it like 4 times it’s crazy.
fr lol. episode 5 is one of m favorites in the show, the tension and characterization is peak, and then the chaos and story reversal in episode 6 just makes it even better.
@@hdudhehdhd2222 it’s actually crazy that a show can make you want a battle like this without even knowing you wanted it.
In under 90 episodes mind you. Most Anime, hell, most shows won’t ever be able to reach such heights in less than 90 episodes.
Bravo sir 👏 you fully understood the complex and grey morality of the situation instead of blindly rooting for our protagonists.
"is anybody in the right?" that commentary was extraordinary. Been with you since the birth of your music reactions channel and vids and you always have insightful stuff to say. thank you
I think only every maybe 10 years or so we get a really really good anime. Sure there are other good anime like Demon slayer, JJK, etc. But a really GOOD one is rare. An anime with very good plot, twists, lore, acting, character development, no bullshit, no fanservice, no stupid questions, no overexplaining. Just a pure SHOW.
JJK generally is that good. Not as deep as AOT but really really good.
Last one I remember being so good was evangelion or steins gate. Luckily we have Vinland saga now to keep us going
Yup 100% agree, generally there's a real diamond from each decade that just hits. Not to wish my life away, but I'm interested to see how AOT holds up in 10 years.
Season 2 was not very good, just killing people for shock factor is so lame@@edot7266
Code Geass is that
Peak episodes right here, fucking masterpiece of a show and writing, waited years for this and it was so worth it.
i think it was Porco's first time seeing the scout's power since the last marleyan jaw titan ended up eaten by Ymir, that's why he's questioning a mere human can go against a titan when his whole life he's been fighting canons and machines
Not to mention that Marley relied too heavily on the power of the titans, while at the same time inadvertently and unknowingly training a force to kill titans.
@@smith22041 yeahh, i just think that he was just used to fought against heavy machinery rather than an actual human swinging. Definitely one of the powerful scene
There is no good side and bad side in a war
The way Eren turns around the "keep moving forward" advice Reiner gave him back in training is cold as hell
I have rewatched this entire series over a dozen times now, at _least_ and the reason I still love watching it again and again (and SPECIFICALLY watching it through reactors and with other people) is because I Am Still Learning Things. It's amazing. I can't believe how amazing it is sometimes. I love learning and I love seeing things in a new light and the ability that This show has to be seen differently by so many eyes and to give those different perspectives a voice that others then get to _hear_ is so wonderful to me. I never get tired of listening to what someone has learned from this show, because they always manage to take away at least _one_ thing differently from me and from everyone else and it's amazing.
4x05 is the peak. The whole parallels with the guy from the flashback that hunged himself (after telling everyone about him running away from titans and letting his family die)cause he wanted to be judged just like Reiner. Reiner begging to be killed while Wylly outside says "but i dont wanna die.....cause i was born into this world". Its just too good.
My favourite show of all time out of anything
The perfect story ever written.
One of the best episodes of the series. Right next to the first titan battles in the 1st and 3rd seasons
The cool thing about this show is that it makes you think a lot. Especially on the ethical side of things since technically there's no right or wrong. It perfectly captures the fickle nature of humans. You could argue Eren is the good guy, but at the same time, you could argue Bertholt and Reiner were the good guys since they believed they were saving "their" world.
There is no good and bad side in war there is no right and wrong. You’re right both this and the event at the beginning are both terrorist attacks and results in eren and a certain someone I won’t name. These episodes show their parallels of each other. There is no winner in war.
I think while eren talking to reiner about how all the people same, he wasn't planning to turn into titan. they both understood each other and eren was ready to end it in peace.
the line that Willy said "bc I born in this world" reminded him what he came here for. after that the way Willy continues his speech, eren smiled which gave eren a reason to continue to fight till he destroy his enemies.
And it STILL gets better, more shocking and wlidy unpredictable. I think I've watched the series repeatedly with about 4 or 5 re-act channels now and I still get hyped as heck for the raid on Liberio arc. Watching Eren finally bring the pain to Marley is so cathartic, captivating and conflicting I still don't know who is right or wrong.. all I know is, what a ride.
perfect timing. just finished watching the last aot video. now we got a 2 banger episodes in 1 video 🔥
"It doesn't get much more adult than that" tehe hehe
"Amazing shit you have to shout."
Same thing someone shouts 15 minutes after eating Tock Bell.
😂
S tier reaction 🙌🏼
Porco realizing the strength of the Scout Regiment will never not give ya shivers.
And 21:59 hits so much harder with full context of the show and realizing Mikasa isn't who he's even talking to
Who is he talking to
@@AfnanAdnan.I hope Jon doesn't read this to avoid spoilers. I'm not sure how far he is.
Ever since Eren kissed Historia's hand, he saw future memories of him including the one where he will/was manipulating his father to kill Reiss's family.
It is safe to assume that Eren saw this moment will come to. So technically, Eren was not talking to Mikasa. She won't be able to hear it. But it is more of him confirming the future that is going to happen.
It's like how we all are excitingly rewatching titan shifter transformation because we have all watched this show once and we are cheering for things that are going to happen.
Eren's laughing at Sasha's death after asking Connie what was her last word was another example of it. He knows the future is going to happen and it's all like a joke to him.
I highly suggest watching The Watchmen movie to understand this better. It is eerie similar to how The Comedians laugh. Isayama actually took some inspiration from it.
@@zakwankhidzir He is past 4-20 judging from a recent Community post here. Patreon is a good bit ahead thanks to the unedited uploads over there.
Excellent synopsis, btw 👍
Consider watching the Blu-ray. The quality is noticeably better.
The shot of Eren being impaled by the War Hammer from a distance is one of my favorite in the entire show. Imagine a normal day in Marley for the average Joe. Suddenly there's this large boom and you look in the distance and see a towering spike with not just a Titan impaled on it, but THE ATTACK TITAN.
The fact that you don't watch the intros and outros is a crime! Aside for setting the tone, they highlight and bring attention to some of the biggest, deepest core themes of the show. The lyrics help the viewer notice and contemplate things on a deeper level. And the outros really don't spoil anything
2 Epsiodes in the same video, let's go 👍👍👍
Great reaction 💪💪💪
Keep like this and get rady to fall in love with this masterpiece even more, more and more
I'm so excited 😉😉😉
Bro shut up with your dumb copy paste comments on every video
THIS SHOW DOESNT STOP!!! AND IT WILL NOT!!
This is just CINEMA
You have the best and most thoughtful reactions. I love watching these, keep it up!
This is the moment there was no going back for our hero..
Yessss please keep doing double uploads
Here from ep 1, but now you started "another show" ❤
JD before an episode: "No need for an introduction, let's just get into it!"
JD after an episode: "Wow, there's not much I can say about that. Just... wow."
(not hating, these things are completely fair to say, I just find it funny)
The peoples Perception dictates the truth
"but i can also completely understand why you enjoy rewatching it and rewatching it with me"...... oh boy, you have no idea
Fun fact, when this episode came out, it sent the US into a panic for a few hours because the number 1 thing trending on twitter was #DeclarationOfWar
I LOVE YOUR REACTION TO THIS SHOW. Your level of appreciation for this show is truly felt and it's a pleasure to watch you experience the unfolding of this masterpiece.
JD: “you’ve killed children, you’re terrorist”
Eren: “wait till i…..” 😂
The tension is so THICK.😂
What's your opinion about the new animation??
I really enjoy react channels to this show, and I've been watching your reactions to the start. What impresses me is that you fully understand the extended narrative and morality discussions that come with the show, plus a broader sense of appreciation for just how unique and good this show is. I'm looking forward to watching your conclusion as it unfolds on youtube JD. There are still some great moments to come yet.
These set of episodes was legendary
Im thoroughly enjoying rewatching this show through your eyes. Intelligent breakdowns keep up the great content
Your thumbnail is like those clickbait UA-camrs except it’s a genuine reaction to that awesome end of that episode. Show is that good
FINALLY I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. If i can go back and rewatch any episode fresh it would be this one. Twitter was so fun when this dropped
Keep in mind we had to wait 1 week to see the next episode
31:51 HE GETS IT
s4 ep. 4,5,6 and 7 are by far the best ones of the series :)
they should of named this episode "Anime's unspoken code broken"
The quickness with wich I clicked!!! Jon ❤
30:41 fuckin nailed it right here jon 👌
Willy Tyber: I declare war
Eren Jaeger: I accept
Blessing us with a 2 ep video 😭
WAITING FOR THIS FOR AGES

The soundtracks are pure fire
LOVE U BRO
I want to make sure and give you your props when you do good analysis. Cheers
The moment war was declared is when Eren made his move, I'm gonna say uts a justified war attack, war was declared first before anything took place
The best part is as you progress to the end of the show you realise that Eren was *never* the hero of the story. He led the titan that ate his mum to her. He made that happen so everything would turn out the way he wanted. Its a self fulfilling prophecy.
Declaration of War probably the best episode of season 4.part 1. The convo between eren and reiner intertwined with Tiburs speech. Honestly it might be the best episode of the whole series
u can see as a terrorist atk ... or as war is .. in a war always there is civilians dying , cause they close to the targets... and thats how it is
Thank you for your content.
It is my favorite story of all time, just barely ahead of Dune books 1-4. They get a bit weird even for me after #4.
25:50 is so ironic now
i swar thsi channel woud BLOW UP SO FAST if jon started one piece

"Did he know he was going to his death?"
The answer is yes. It is foreshadowed by the fact that his entourage was made up of his family and religious people. He was spending his last days with those he loved and seeking to find spiritual and emotional peace before he set out to do what he was going to do.
Of which his plan was to bait out Eren into attacking him and thus providing justification for a global alliance to be formed to declare war on the people of Paradis but also demonstrating that "Good Marley Eldians" would side with humanity versus the "devils" of Paradis.
Now how did he know Eren was in Marley? That's left up to the viewer to figure out but IMHO a reasonable assumption is that Tybur's people probably intercepted a letter, or letters, sent out by Eren from the interment area. Of course I don't think Eren was dumb enough to write plainly about his intentions to his comrades but I'm guessing that Tybur's people put the pieces together enough to figure out that Eren was in Marley and planning something big himself.
Sorry for the long post...
I've been watching the reaction videos to this story and have been wondering why so many people think Eren is a "terrorist"?
Starting from a history covered with lies, Eldia was framed, met with discrimination, and even had her sister brutally murdered for no reason, as if that scene was a daily occurrence.
The history of the Paradis island has continued for several hundred years, and tens of millions of people have actually been killed because of the fabricated history.
In addition, it is assumed that the man-eating giants were not naturally generated on the island, but were sent to the island by ship, and hundreds and thousands of people were devoured and killed by the fabricated history. They have continued to be treated inhumanely for their false history to the point that there is no way to atone for it in this world.
And did Eren actions look like terrorism because women and children happened to be shown as victims in the scene shown?
I can't imagine letting a dog devour my sister through fabricated history.
And the most decisive thing is the declaration of war.... It was Marley's declaration to Erdia that the whole world would join together to exterminate the people of the Paradis-island, but Marley was the one who declared war, and Erdia was the one who was attacked.
So, you are saying that war has been declared, and now we are going to go to war and annihilate them, but you are not allowed to fight back, and that is considered an act of terrorism? Why do so many people think so?
To quote Erwin: Who do you think the enemy is?
Well, Erwin himself would’ve never guessed who was ACTUALLY the enemy all along lmao
Straight facts there yo! The amount of times his words echo in my head throughout this show though@@Supertaldo916

Hi mom!
Best show ever
anyone knows the results of the polls? What anime is coming next?
i wish i was you so i could expereince this show all over again.
Killing civilians is something that can't be undone...and it's evil
The circumstances are not important when you kill civilians
That's why am with armin's plan
Yo, double episodes.
6:32 Well, this isn't new information for us--other than the Helos fabrication. Dina Fritz mentioned how Karl Fritz turned away from his duties in balancing power on the continent because of his longing for peace...
24:44 To be fair, Eren changed from understanding Reiner to moving forward with conviction when Willy declared war against Paradis.
This is the episode when I really started questioning who are the REAL "good" guys?
Don't be blinded that just because the main characters are the main characters, they cannot be evil (not necessarily a spoiler, just a warning)
PEAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
THANKS TO MAPPA AND ISAYAMA ❤❤❤❤
You said so much action? 😂 ok...sure...😂😂
Is this a terrorist attack? I mean Marley just declare war to eren and paradis
A terrorist attack being allowed to happen in order to justify a war? That would never happen in real life 😉
AHAHHAHAHHA LETS GO JON 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I want more!!!!!!!!!!
every reactor i Watch says aot Is the best show they ever see lol
THE NEXT INTRO IN THE VERY FIRST WORD IT HAS A MASSIVE SPOILER, AVOID WATCHING IT AT ALL COSTS ;-;
calling it a terrorist attack is just wrong, eren waited down there, waited for willy to declare war on paradis island first. He waited for the marleyans to declare war and that's when he attacked. That's not terrorism, that's just good old war, with marleyans being the aggressors. Though at the beginning of the show, that was definitely a terrorist attack. Siding with eren here is not wrong at all, but saying that eren doing this justifies marleyan's actions in season 1 is just plain wrong..
24:55 Eren is still the hero bro lmao. They literally announced a world team up against the island. What do you want him to do? Keep of defense?
Eren is also the leading perpetrator of a full-blown terrorist attack against an area populated by civilians in this episode. “Hero” isn’t the right word to describe him - he’s only the hero from the perspective of his side of the conflict
@@christiansanders1 ammm yea ofc. But if you are neutral in this conflict you would see him in the right because all he became was because of what they did. I am not even talking about Marley only but also the Hanji and Armin and the whole island putting so much pressure on a kid. Armin saying "to win you have to abandon your humanity " and when he did that they are mad at him. Hanji wanted a solution and as the leader of the scouts she literally didn't do shit. In the end they were about to do what the king of the walls was doing and they were fighting him for. They were mad at Eren when he pretended that he is on Zeke plan and they are also mad when he said his true motives. But do they have a solution ?? They tried talking and what did that get them lmao
No anime matches these soundtracks besides maybe blecah.
