I’ve had 3 hustler ZTRs in recent years. They get worse with every new model. I've had the hydro-drive brackets replaced, cracked fenders, severe vibration noise etc etc, etc. I have found that Hustler will work with you until they decide not to. My case was escalated to Nick (Sr. product representative). After failed attempts at a repair, Nick would not return any phone calls. The case was then escalated to the next level (Ken Coker). Ken provides nothing more than lip service. He did call me once. When I provided video proof of the complaint, he failed to ever contact me again. The mower was still under warranty when the dealer refused to do anything more and told me that Hustler would not attempt any more to fix the problem. Hustler also refused to work out a satisfactory plan to get me into a different model. The machine is now out of warranty. i still have the original severely rattling deck issue that I’ve had from the day I first received this machine. I would never touch another Hustler mower, ever. Hustler will not honor their warranty 0unless it is a very simple problem. Either they don't know, or don't care about fixing a customer's mower.

Would like to hear Hustler's side of the story. All other reviews of Hustler are good.

@@mvh61 I also would like to hear Hustler's side. Once it went beyond a very simple solution, it seemed as though Hustler didn't want to address the problem and they would not return my phone calls. I sent an email to Ken Coker (third level of support) with a link to videos of the problem and never got a response from Ken. If Hustler won't communicate and Passmore Service center tells me that Hustler will not do anything and therefore they will not do anything more to help, I've been left to fend for myself.

From what I have figured out, the sub $6k mowers are not gonna hold up if you cut more than an acre. Expect to replace a sub $6k mower every 4 to 5 years. IMHO, I would buy a John Deere from the local John Deere dealer, not a big box store. I would suggest the z530r model. The same mower can be bought from a big box store for about $500 less , but the model will end with "e" or "m" I believe. The 500 series from the Deere dealer has a 4 year/500 hour warranty. The 500 series that you buy at a big box store has a 4 year/300 hour warranty. I am sure there are other good mowers out there, but I think you will like dealing with a John Deere dealer. They tend to do things a little differently.

Life time deck warranty is hard to beat. I have a 23 year old Husqvarna 61" commercial ZTR that is 20 years old with the original Kawasaki engine, that still runs great... I paid $2100 for it 20 years ago...
I'm not sure that the Hustler belt tension-er will hold up because every tension device I have ever seen is constantly moving when the blades are engaged...

Could always swap out the deck bolts for grade 8's if worried about them breaking.

Question: A dealer in AZ I recently spoke with is telling me the bodies for the XD are only warrantied for one year, that its the engine thats 3 year. This cant be right is it?
BTW did prices go up a lot since 8 months ago when the vid came out?

I thought you were a John Deere repairman for years. So your guessing now? My 1 month old 515 Deere lost the engine and they can’t give me a time frame for the repair. Got it from Lowe’s have there warranty also now have to wait to see what happens. 😮😢😢

I have 16-degree hills all over my yard. What do you think of the Cub cadet zero turn with steering wheel as far as reliability? Also, it is supposed to be good on hills up to 20 degrees. ZTS2-42.

My brother bought one and he loves it. I’m not a fan of the steering wheel because it’s slower. To each their own

      Are they turf destroyers?

@@Bass.Player Yes, they're turf destroyers! I have them on my Hustler Raptor XD 54" and they tear up the turf when the grass or turf is the slightest bit wet when making a simple turn....
