Here’s how I chose my newest mower. I scoured marketplace for two weeks low-balling clean low hour commercial mowers (I had tiers of models/brands I wanted most). Found someone who needed cash badly (skimmed through their Facebook page to do research) and closed the deal fast.
Same. I ended up with a 130 hour John Deere z915e for $3500. It works great and looks new.
Same thing I just did
For 3 months drove myself crazy researching zero turn mowers for my one acre plot. I choose the Bobcat ZT2000 42". Kawasaki FR651v and ZT-2800 with remote reservoir was a big selling point (plus a heck of a deal from Bobcat). Very happy with the mower.
I looked at the Bobcat ZT2000 & 3000. I couldn't find a lot of info on them. I'm still looking. Lol!!
I'm picking up the 48 with mulching kit for $4992 tomorrow
Wow.
We mow around 5 acres with some steep inclines, and periodically, I clean up about 2 acres of pasture. I researched and tested around 6 different brands, focusing on durability. Ended up picking up a Gravely Pro 160 with 62" deck, ZT3400 transaxle, 26 HP EFI Kohler engine, suspension seat, cupholders (useless when bouncing around mowing tbh), and a charging port which I've never used. I have around 300 hours on it so far and will say the thing is a beast. It is made with thicker metal for the deck which I really wanted as half of our lawn drops large branches periodically and the soil surface is by no means smooth. I can put on a hitch and light bar, but also have a small 26 HP tractor with 3 point, backhoe, and front bucket so really no need to tow anything with the zero-turn or need to use it at night with the light. I highly recommend getting an engine with EFI, which I didn't hear mentioned in the vid. Also, while suspension systems for the wheels are nice, I've used two different brands with them and honestly couldn't really tell much of a difference, so to me, these are just added failure points. Last, solid front tires are definitely preferrable over air inflated. A bit rougher ride, but they'll last far longer.
I got a cub cadet zt54 and I got it for 3500 and it has 25 hp 12 Gauge deck led lights and it's a beast I definitely recommend it
we have the kubota powerful diesel one wich you can add a plow blade, areator, rear mount spreader plus cabs for it
I managed to find a John Deere z355r and have put about 100 hours on it. It’s been a great mower so far but I am definitely ready for something faster
If you want to REALLY FAST the Altoz XC goes 18mph!
Bought my first zero turn earlier this year. I shopped around for a month or so. I was looking for a bigger machine we mow atleast 5 acres. I looked at Spartan, Gravely, Toro,Kioti and X mark. Spartan was on top of my list and Kioti second. Same dealer sold both. Took wife when it came time to buy and we both preferred the Kioti, it came with the suspension seat which also had a higher back for mor comfort. The suspension seat was an expensive upgrade. Kioti ZXC LT so far very happy with it. Something i consider when buying expensive toys is availability of service and parts. I dont see the point of buying brand "A" which may be better but the closest dealer is 50 miles away.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I bought a Husq 254F special edition 4 wks ago. I live on a 5.5 acre horse property with no horses, pastures were 2ft tall, not cut all summer. Took me 28 hours to cut the whole place, had to make 2 passes for the pastures. Whole place looks like a lawn. Mine has the 23 hp Kawasaki. Very powerful. Love that machine.

Impressive! Thanks for sharing!
I bought a Gravely HD60. It is so much better than the Bad Boy ZT Elite that literally burned down. I will never have another Kohler motor. I got it for $6299 and it is worth every penny.
Just got a maverick hd 60” with the Honda efi, I have 15 acres, and 6 other properties to mow, and my son is going to pick up yards this summer
How do you likenit
@@irishgirlkrys so far so good. 10 hrs so far.. my 10 y.o. Has made 300$ bucks mowing… no problems
i got a 2003 dixie chopper with a kohler command pro 27 closing in on 8,000 hrs
Well done video overall as an intro but it also would have been nice do you have charted data to show the difference in the speeds in cost per acre in time per acre facts also and also between the deck sizes in each classification of the same timer cut cost to operate per acre.
I bought a ferris is600z back in 2019 new for $5600 it been pretty good and has suspension all the way around now ill have to look into the specs to see how good the rest of it is, I definitely like the looks of altoz 766 with it's tracks and brush hog capabilities
I currently have a riding mower that is well aged. The property i mow isnt huge but i cant stand how my back feels after being on the rider for an hour. I recently sat in a BB Rebel and my goodness it was comfortable. My one worry is how much the Rebel weighs compared to a riding mower. A third of the property id be using it on is softer in the spring (my feet sink about a quarter to half inch into the grass as i walk checking for sticks) the riding mower does sink some as i cut through this area but does not get stuck. Im wondering if the Rebel would sink and get stuck in this type of soil or if the tire size would allow it to push through.
I just buy the gravely zt HD 60 inc deck whit the Kawasaki nice I don’t have any complaint
I love mine. It is faster and quieter than the Bad Boy ZT Elite I had before. The cut quality is better, too.
Great job showing and telling, looking for a good deal. Never owned a zero turn , had a walk behind or a trailer you stand on it was to slow. So I am 66 years old and I think I should get a zero turn but wish one bad boy or what, will get to talk about it . I’ll be looking and talking with y’all soon get one ready for me. Text at you later see ya bye have a great great day bye now .
You’re one of twelve bad boy mower dealers within 60 miles of me and my engine reps want to bring me brand new bad boy units that they think you amongst the over 11 cannot fix. This is too good. See you soon.
So far so good. Only used it once, but...
Great information thanks
What about altoz brand or however its spelled. Looking for something beefy that can handle the steep hills on mt property which my fathers hustler raptor xl couldnt handle. Being recommended the xr 480 54' but its like 6 grand. What do you think?
If you’re interested in a video on Altoz, check out my latest video!
I'm considering Bad Boy Zt elite 48"
No mention of the John Deere’s or Husqvarna’s, Cub Cadets? Do you not like them?
No sir they all have fine mowers. We carry the Bad Boy mowers and they tend to be some of the best in their category which Is why I showed the Bad Boy. Also the Bad Boy is what I personally have access to. Ultimately the decision of which mower is best, is up to you.
Right now I’m stuck between the Bad boy Magnum and the Toro Timecutter with the Myride suspension. The Magnum seems better built but the toro has the suspension, plus I hear that they cut great. Any advice or any other mowers I should be looking at?
The mowers will have cut with the same quality. And you're right, the bad boy is going to have a more sturdy construction. I'd recommend taking the mowers for a test ride if you can to see if the suspension is worth it.
The Toro my ride suspension isn't my favorite so I'd recommend the bad boy. However taking a test ride is allways the best choice if you can!
@Curtis Fultz the manufacturer just builds the warranty cost into the price of the machine. I'm sure you could have purchased a warranty package somewhere for the BB that exceeded the Toro warranty if you wanted.
Get the Toro. I have the 42” no my ride, my buddy has 54” with my ride. He mows 3 acres twice a week for 3 ish years, no problems. Toro 24.5 hp engine. I only have 20 hours on mine so far but it’s great and solidly built.
Any particular reason you only recommend Bad Boy mowers?
That's the mowers we carry at Tractor Bob. If you'd like to see other mowers, check out my top 5 zero turn mower videos. Cheers!
My Ariens ikon 60 cost 5k and only came with the hydrogear ezt transaxles... What a pos. Love getting screwed over 😂
Do you think there is a better option for suspension under $5k than toro myride?
Thanks!
I would say a a ZT avenger with a suspension seat upgrade would be just as good, happy fourth!
There is no $4000 mower?? In my area there is a sweet spot. $3800. You get the Kawasaki, LED lights, deep fabricated deck, 12V, etc. Missed opportunity.
i looked at a 31hp diesel kubota zd wich can add cab, plow, rear mount spreader, areator, and detatcher attachmets
What’s that mower called?
@@GC-kk4et There are several. The best one is Ariens Ikon. I would also consider the JD Z320R. Both under $3900 and packed full of options.
The sweet spot completely depends on the needs of the individual.
@@Em_Dee_Aitch he went from 3k to 5k. Was my point. At 3.8-4k you get almost everything a 5k mower has without the dreaded Briggs motors.
Any particular reason you only recommend Bad Boy mowers?. Not that hard dont by shit from a box store..
HOW TO PICK The Right Zero Turn Mower...anything but Kohler engines!
I prefer battery operated zero turn mowers. I am not a landscaper or golf course maintainer. For me, Ryobi Z30Li is perfect for my yard. Zero maintenance, drop the 80v batteries in. In thick grass in my back yard my gas mower bogs down, however, the Ryobi blazes right through, with no clumps. I had a JD S130 tractor type, wasn't zero turn... I will never go back to gas...ever
how much did they pay you promote their mowers?
Not that hard dont by shit from a box store.
There's not a single bad boy zero turn that cost under $3.6K
The MZ Rambler!
Well If you live Near The ORIGINAL BAD BOY they sell all the Best of The Southern ARkansas Area is Qhat Cox Implamanrt in Jonesboro Arkansas an Hoxie Arkansas they sell the 20023 Limited Edition for 1000$ Cheaper if you by The ones Kind to the ones who build them ! At IMF THEY PLATE THE mower Boltts and if they break My relative is acrooss From The Airport so qe go Next door to were they Plate Bad Boy Mower bolts an Plate them but they said THE X mark is a big deal great mower from in Alabama, Bad Boy in Arkansas Ferris was in Arkansas but they are not allowed to work On Sundays any more but they got the Altoz an if i lived up North id Buy from Bobs!
Silly boys, everyone knows real mowers don't have steering wheel or seat. Get a stander mower.
Says the chiropractor.......
My standers have coil over suspension in the platform. Zero back problems.
so basically this was just one big f&%king ad for bad boy mowers.. got it
You only recommend one brand. Ridiculous!
It’s the brand they carry ding dong. This is a purely example video. Most zero turn brands have all these same parts, just different names and colors.
@@TheyFearUAwake So you think they're all the same... 🤣🤦
