    My wife and I went from a teardrop to the Flagstaff E-Pro bunkhouse (same as the Geo you guys have)…needed more elbow room. Teardrops are a lot of fun and are easy to tow but, when bad weather hits you have few options for shelter other than under your awning. Also, we live in a very buggy area and eating in the bug tent when its hot and humid out gets old fairly quickly. I would suggest renting a teardrop for a few trips before anyone purchases. Everyone is different, great video!

    We have the same camper. We have used it a bunch and had no issues. The couple breaks have been fixed under warranty with no hassles from our local dealership. Ours is a 2021 and it’s still like new. Quality IMO is outstanding. I tow with a midsized SUV and it tows wonderfully. I’d recommend for anyone. We’re heading out again here in Oct, can’t wait! Regarding the shower….I’m 6’1” and use it.

      We love what the camper offers us in the ability to travel with an infant, but things have broken and there's a list we have going of stuff that's come loose and or entirely broken that we need to get fixed. The shower is tiny and I'm not as tall as you are, we choose to not even use it. Enjoy your trip and happy trails!

    We love our geo pro 20bhs! We’ve had ours for a little over year. Two adults and two large dogs. Seems the perfect fit. Only issues we’ve had is water fittings came loose under the sink and on the water pump. We’ve contemplated jumping up to a Fifth wheel but the up front cost and cost of Maintenance doesn’t make sense. We’re semi full timing as we travel around the country while my fiancé works as a travel nurse. From El Paso to north Dakota to south texas, New Hampshire and now Washington. We must have put over 20,000 miles on it.

    To each his own. I had a Tab Teardrop The construction is probably second to none. Probably the best construction of all the RV's I've owned. I was only camping myself, my wife did not go with me for the cross country trip. It was just too small. Many days the weather wasn't great and you're stuck inside. So you're sitting on the edge of your bed. Maybe the new larger teardrops. But in my opinion the Geo Pro 19 fbs is a good size compromise, but I also tow with a RAM 1500 Hemi.

    I'm considering this exact model to tow with our JL Jeep Wrangler on 35s. I've seen a few Jeep owners towing the same travel trailer or similar and obviously its near the limit of the Wrangler. Would love to hear more on towing with your Gladiator which has double the towing capacity of the Wrangler lol. I don't want to tow anything larger and have to drive a big truck, as we love the ability of the Jeep on trails. Thanks for sharing!

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  3 місяці тому +1

      No worries! I think the gladiator is underpowered for this setup. However, since I come from the world of diesel trucks, my opinion may not matter. If 35's is all you're going to do, and that's it, you will be fine with towing with the gladiator. I went overboard with 37s, a rooftop tent, and loaded with gear, and it was a terrible experience.

    I'm getting the Geo Pro 15tb, only 16' long, sleeps 2 in a convertible U-shape dinette area. Kitchen inside, as well as a wet bath. I tow with a 2020 F150 FWD with a topper that I already have fixed up with a bed with sliding drawer storage beneath. So, if we have a guest (grandkid) along, they can sleep in the truck. :) That's all I need, enough to camp and boondock in the not quite overland travels, but in slightly rougher area. And easier on this 66 year old body than the tent. Originally, I was going to go for a WeeRoll travel trailer. Much better, higher quality hand build. BUT, I don't have $40k. I thought about building out an off road cargo trailer. My only requirements are that I can stand up in it, sleep in it comfortably, and be able to have a potty. To build one that also has off road capabilities would still set me back into the $22k area. So, I just went for the Geo Pro 15tb. Thanks!

    What is the weight of your gladiator alone fully loaded prior to attaching the trailer? GVWR? I noticed you have a rack etc. How much payload did you have available for tongue weight with all the modifications you made.? Also notice it was lifted with larger tires. How did that affect your towing? Do you use a weight distribution hitch? What is your tongue weight with your trailer camp ready? As a gladiator owner, you build each gladiator for a purpose. You have a fantastic overlander, but with all the modifications and added payload, tires, etc it is not designed anymore to tow a standard trailer. I am surprised you had any payload left for the trailer tongue weight with the weight distribution hitch. I can see why it would overheat on long climbs.
    The gladiator can be a great towing vehicle for a geopro which runs about 4400 at max BVWR. I have a Sport S Max tow and have kept it completely stock for payload, etc. So we currently have 1400 payload available and running the stock 31s with no lift. It would be a crappy overlander but its purpose is towing.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  2 роки тому

      Nat, thanks for the comment! We were definitely at capacity for the payload and having the lift and larger tires decreased our capability severely, which made pulling this camper a tough task. All that said, I still wouldn’t feel comfortable pulling the 7500lbs the gladiator is rated to tow with the max package, even if I was the only one in the vehicle and subtracting all the modifications. The v6 is just not suited for that kind of weight. Thanks for the input!
