How to Flip A Tire 2023

  • Spartan athletes and many other obstacle course racing athletes will have to face the tire flip at some point in their training or race career. The tire can vary in size and weight depending on the race. Often spartan tire is around 400 lbs and you must flip it 2x’s.
    To flip the tire and not break your back the hip hinge movement pattern must be strengthened. Besides the tire flip, exercises like
    RDL’s
    Good Morning
    Glute Ham raises (aka Nordic hamstring curls)
    & Deadlifts
    Which all strengthen the posterior chain are essential parts of your training regimen.
