    In this video, Part 1: Steez CT SV TW, I will talk about my initial impressions of the Steez CT SV TW and explain why I chose to get it after I was not going to get it initially. I compare the body size of the Steez CT SV TW to the current Shimano Aldebaran frame.
    The Daiwa Steez CT SV TW should have BFS-like casting with the ability to have higher pound test line spooled.
    There will be some test casting footage as well as a tear down of the Steez CT SV TW to see the inside of the reel in future videos. I will do a full write up after some time catching fish on the TackleTour forums. Be sure to subscribe to make sure you don't miss out.

    From the Daiwa Website:
    It is the flagship reel in the Daiwa line and one of the finest bait casters money can buy. The new compact 70 size is small, palmable and ultra comfortable. Twelve ball bearings and a roller bearing make this reel one of the smoothest on the market, bar none. The light 5.3 oz.design incorporates Daiwa’s most advanced technologies. The rigid frame and side cover are constructed from Magnesium which is half the weight of aluminum yet just as strong. The SV spool is milled from Ultra-light G1 Aluminum alloy. The advanced Air Brake System effectively prevents overlays utilizing centrifugal and magnetic force. The comfortable crank uses soft paddle handles. Available in 6.3 to 1 and 8.1 to 1 gear ratios, the reels are technique versatile. The state of the art drag system can apply an impressive, ten pounds of pressure while paying out with a buttery smoothness. With four models to choose from, the state of the art baitcasting reel can serve many different purposes. If you want to experience the culmination of 60 years of Daiwa reel building technology take the STEEZ CT SV 70 for a spin.

      I read that casting is pretty similar. The Steez got the new frame and of course, better internals. I bet the new Steez frame with trickle into new reels over the next few years.

    Hobie-Wan,
    I am confused about the zero adjust knob. Does it move at all. Based on what you said indicates you can loosen it but you can not tighten it? Do I have this right. Zero to me means no adjustment at all either way.

    • @EddieLindsay681
      @EddieLindsay681 5 років тому +2

      Telemark Mann the zero turn implies you don’t have to adjust it but it can be adjusted, it’s only hard to turn is all.

    That's a badass reel.. But , my last boat w/motor and trailer was only $1000 , I can't see paying that much for a reel...lol
    Come down to Central FL I'll take ya fishing.

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  5 років тому +1

      I get ya, I am the same way. My jon boat was last tagged in 1983 and had a huge gouge in it. L shaped metal and roofing tar patched it up. The fishing gear far surpassed the value. Same with my bass boat. Spring is coming but, I may take you on fishing up come Jan or Feb.

      Yeah it's getting ridiculous and just like every other tackle nerd , I get caught up in the JDM stuff too , lol.
      Come on down anytime. July thru September is brutal down here and I mainly fish at night or real early , then. All other months are good.

    do you think the steez would be able to cast even lighter with a bfs air spool looking at one and thought get an air spool and better bearings to have best of both worlds in the one high end reel

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  2 роки тому +1

      Getting a Roro BFS spool for the Steez CT would give you a lot of versatility for sure. I like being able to get the most money out of my gear

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  4 роки тому +1

      With the 30mm spool, the 7.1 would be too slow for most of my fishing.

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  5 років тому +1

      I put 10lb on it and took it out. Without spoiling the next video, its a VERY capable caster. You will see the lowest I can go with 10lb line and stock bearings.

      @@HobieWanKenobi thanks, you are spot on about the T wing on lure trajectory.
      I remember T3 air was the only one that could skip with a flip cast some 7 8 years ago. But the movable inductor may jammed up occasionally, causing me to reduce the brake dial unknowingly, and then inductor would free up again. Unreliable performance.
      Hope it is better now.

  • @BoboAthanassion

    Why aren't you allowed to talk about the negatives of this reel? Do you work for Daiwa or are they giving you free reels to test and review? As a consumer, we have a right to know the negatives as well as the positives of the reels we intend to purchase.

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  5 років тому

      I do not receive any compensation or other perks to review gear. I talk about the 80mm handle being a negative but, that is a personal preference. For what the reel is designed to do, I find it hard to find another reel on this reel's level. I guess I could have bought it for big swimbaits and had 8:50 of negatives. I have a casting video that shows me casting a variety of lures. I guess I could have talked about the price as a negative but, what people value for their money is very subjective. I can say it isn't a "bang for your buck reel" and isnt going to perform twice as good as a reel that costs half the price.
