Appreciate the review. Zillion it is. At least it's a new platform. I see no reason why these dual spring spools won't work in other platforms now. I wasn't so sure before the vid. Two thoughts…I stay away from the absolute flagships from each company because not only are they susceptible to this marketing of nonexistence, you pay a LOT for the “privilege”. Zillions and tats are great…metaniums and aldebarans are great. If you have the money and want a steez or an antares, by all means…but that leads me to my second point. The three “Rs” of high end gear buying…research, research, research. Of course the dudes (like this guy) who are on the front lines and provide the actual data are going to fall victim. It’s how the rest of us find out. But that’s why you use the information to make an actual, informed decision…otherwise it’s all in vain. Do you want this thing for the “Nike, Coca Cola” reason of having a brand’s flagship…or are you looking for a functional, high end reel that performs? Because if that’s the case, I can point you to some gently used alde 50s, etc. for $200 on the flea. Don’t think you have to put up with this kind of bullshit to throw high end gear. You just have to do your research and have some patience.
Cant wait for the new zillion video. I heard it has clicking drag(noise when line is being pulled out) yet i am waiting for to see to see if the us release has any differences before i buy because i heard some rumors the us version will have brass gears.
Try to forgive my saying so (or don't), but it takes an idiot to buy a $600 reel or rod. We can get in the boat together - me with my 40 year old, $50 Bantam reels - and see how many more fish you put in your hands than me. IF you luck up and boat more fish than me, it's NOT gonna be because of your pretty rod or reel. By the way, thank you for the Improved Albright Knot video. Clear, concise and valuable video.

Slap a new paint job on the old model... give it a new name... put some hyped up language on the box about "new" features... increase its price... and then sell it to the unsuspecting market... Daiwa has adopted the marketing philosophy of P. T. Barnum : (A sucker is born every minute). Thank you for exposing them. Now they are the suckers when people see your review and their sales of this "new and improved" model sink like the Titanic, because people will realize they can just continue to buy the older less expensive model.
I'm not a super huge fan of daiwa but I had to get this when it came out mine I believe was black and purple because I'm from Baltimore and was not impressed whatsoever by its performance felt like any other guy will baitcaster with that gritty non-smooth reeling they make nice stuff but very overpriced
First of all, Thank you for taking the time to reply, second MY MOTHER DID NOT RASISE ME TO BE FOLISH WITH MY MONEY ! But you are entitled to your opinion. Oh and yes I do own a few higher priced reels. Thank you and have a great day.
it's kind of like those movie re-releases that you've already seen...still a great movie, BUT it's just that...you've already seen it! NOW, if those new 2021 zillion sv tws can be had for new under $500 at 6.1oz; the lefts are going for $330 NIB...could have my interest, but would definitely like to see you get a hold of one. speaking of fast shipping from japan...i regularly order from two tackle shops over there and likewise...4 day shipping to TX for less that $20 via fedex.
Let's hope it's not just an isolated case ... so I hope you all open your eyes, and you will find that the current daiwa that everyone loves, is not the same as 15/20 years in spinning. Surely compared to Shimano, it invests money in research, experimentation, but this is a lack of respect towards its customers, and of those who are convinced that it is the best in the world. It sure was before ...
Man what a shame... but if you don't have an old steez ..like the one you have i guess it would be okay to get it. The color scheme isn't bad . But how does it perform over all
At least new shimano reels LOOK a bit different. I mean look at the new Metanium! It's very easy to tell the difference between shimano reels. All Daiwa reels look like a Tatula to me
Perry cool how the pinion is supported. At least you got a back up with different gear . Was a great show . Really appreciate the honesty of your reaction. We had to laugh because we have been there as well . At least 2020 is almost done . Talk as bad as you can about the reel purchase, maybe it will provide some fun fishing in return . Better luck this coming new year man.
Huh? Daiwa makes some very good stuff.. To say what you just did while being serious is ignorant. Now if you don't appreciate higher priced gear.. That's fine
I've seen you cast. You dont cast nearly hard enough to see how overbraked the SV spools are. When casting hard for distance the SV spools have to be run at higher brake settings then what you typically run lobbing baits at a river
What did I get wrong? 70k JPY for a 16 steez with paint and a spool....Claiming hyper this hyper that on the box like it's new. I was banned because Cal falsely accused me of promoting my youtube channel there. I guess my minions are on Tackle tour too..lolol

What u think about 2024 daiwa steez sv tw 8.5.1
The clicky drag is next realese +$150 to price.
Lmao
Fast forward to 2023, Daiwa did the same to the supposedly new Steez A II TW.
Just added one spring to the spool rotor, color change and called it new.
Wish i could throw away 6 bills......which is over 700 cdn..... thats allll it is now a dayz *refresh aka fresh paint* n thats it n mark up da price.
Damn right we stayed till de end its funny. To see u trying to JESTIFY there hassss to be something different hahaha
Oh yea. Since you don't use your megabass jerkbaits can I have one? I'd be much appreciated. Peace and good fishing bro.
Marketing department was not affected by COVID, but engineering and manufacturing must have been LOL!
US dollar devalue with every new stimulus bill and free money, not going surprise to see new Steez hits over $1000 in msrp.
600$ for Steez Limited or 260$ for MGXtreme2? 😁
Lol...
I'd rather be over braked opposed to under braked.
This “review” is just as precise as all these comments calling this reel a “Diawa”. SMH!!!
What I miss?
What do u mean. It’s a daiwa flagship reel made in Japan. U don’t know what ur talking about
The new Slammer IV, the Saltist MQ review pleaseeee brother!!! Let’s put it vs the 20’ Gosa SWA… I need this!! Lol
Sorry You are disapointed I would never get those back together to many parts to keep track of.
hey im here watching this................
My favorite knife by far. Caspian Salt. Love it.
All Daiwa reels look like a Tatula to me
Are you going to get the new Daiwa Alphas sv tw 800 XH plus what is the difference between and the daiwa alphas air Stream custom
The old saying... Money talks and Bull shit walks, lol .. I would not own any Daiwa products, just paying for the name.
Huh? Daiwa makes some very good stuff.. To say what you just did while being serious is ignorant. Now if you don't appreciate higher priced gear.. That's fine
Hahaha we drop the boost. 😂 Bro you just kick that reel with ur fingger. Hahahaha
How did u order these reel from Japan, can u make a video on it, would they sell and ship things other countries like India.
I've seen you cast. You dont cast nearly hard enough to see how overbraked the SV spools are. When casting hard for distance the SV spools have to be run at higher brake settings then what you typically run lobbing baits at a river
That's a very uneducated comment....
@@ALF4MOJO I never realized how biased tackle tour was until now. Good luck with that bro
What did I get wrong? 70k JPY for a 16 steez with paint and a spool....Claiming hyper this hyper that on the box like it's new.
I was banned because Cal falsely accused me of promoting my youtube channel there. I guess my minions are on Tackle tour too..lolol
He deleted his comment and took it over to tackle tour lol
@@TackleAdvisors
No I mean that. Your casting stroke is very different from what most use and this is why I believe you dont understand the complaints of overbraked SV spools or how badly we have wanted something like the SV Boost. Its a big deal.
Nice information , Thanks.. Try shimano reels with MGL spool brother.
I had the same suspicion. I am glad I got the Alphas SV TW...so far
Hey man! Happy New year! Does the Alpas incorporate a spool spacer like the Air tw?
@@TackleAdvisors The Alphas SV TW doesnt have spacers. Maybe the Alphas AIR TW with spacers removed may fit 32mm spools🤔
I came late so thanks for the extra misery 😂
A $600.00 con job, what is there not to get excited about? Happy New Year, may 2021 be filled with good health and happiness.
Thank you for saving me some money. I also have great success with Japan lure shop. The last reel I bought they sent me a 5” mag draft. If you don’t use the 110 jerkbaits perhaps you should do a giveaway To me wink wink.
XD awww.. my reel just hit puberty, gonna have to have that talk... lol had me dead as soon as i started watching.
you should really examine the new zilion sv tw mate , it looks much better and i think the sv boost system really adds some distance from the japanesse videos i have watched it is amazing. www.daiwa.com/jp/fishing/item/special/product/ZILLION_SV_TW/index.html
I emailed Japan lure shop asking them to keep me in mind when the new zillion drops in a righty.
Dang.. the 6 dislikes must be from the daiwa marketing team.
Which model in the steez do you prefer upon teardown and or a similar low profile model do u like? Thanks
I really appreciate you doing the hard work, buying, and going into it so we don’t have too. Won’t be buying!
I agree Japan lure shop is the best, yes you pay little on shipping but you get nice free lures, I never waited over 5 days for a reel from Japan lure shop!
Thanks for saving me the $ and for the honesty. I know Daiwa fanboys will be butt hurt but oh well...the truth hurts sometimes. I will stick to my SV steezes, and maybe wait for the new zillion.
looks like i wont be getting this after all lol
Get a zillion instead I guess. At least some aspects of that reel are innovative. Super disappointed to see that Daiwa pretty much just put “hyper” in front of a few words and rehashed the same reel. Like come on.
@@xCruZChaos yeah im looking at that or conquest dc shimano now lol... marketing huh lol..glad we have this guy to save us money lol
You have the bestest videos out there. You should have been a disk jockey. You have the narration voice.
Sir you’re doing such a great job making this videos save us money and help make decisions on fishing gear keep up the excellent work I will buy one from you if you sell it
Yea this guy is infinitely better than the little kid on the reel test channel that does nothing but bfs. Lol.
