Dave, this is a sailplane that have been retrofitted with a motor, so the stock landing gear doesn't allow for the prop clearance. It also add a certain level of safety to avoid prop strike and put you to flying speed with a known heading. I had a couple of take off from dolly or cart where you are not exactly sure where you are heading when you are taking off from grass
I will do my best to avoid that, usually as you can see in the video, I am waiting the ring to fall before activating motor, there is plenty of time with the altitude gained
It took me a couple of minutes to realise this is a powered sailplane ;-) Nice setup.
This is exactly i was looking for, thank you so much for this wonderful video information
My pleasure, glad it is useful for you
Great presentation
Where can I buy those components to launch my UAv, Please?
Check my other video bungee detailed review, I have listed all components
Hi. Great system. I'd like to do the same. Please can you insert where to buy bungee, strudy stake, quick release and hook ? thanks
Would you use this setup to launch a non powered sailplane also?
if it is to launch on a slope yes we are also using it this way
:D
We usually use a tugplane or winchlaunch and thermals to get our gliders started ;o)
Best regards
Bravissimo molto informativo e molto meglio del dolly!
What's the point if it's powered ?

@@StephaneRuelle Make sense Stephane. Good idea and well realized.
The anchor handle makes it easy to remove it from your body.
Bien expliqué!
Nice, but watch out, I crashed my Nimbus 4 with this type of bungee launch years ago, the cable got stuck in propeller shaft
