Happy Landings! Fly outside the box. 📦✈ - Розваги
That’s impressive. I think you are officially the only A4 ever to tow a glider.
I think the best part of this (and all) your videos is the friends being friends enjoying the hobby. Always having a good time
Thanks! That's the way to do it in our experience. Never take yourself or the hobby too seriously or you suck the fun out of it! 😁👍
I was just about to write something on the same lines, ill settle for what you said :o)
They are the Hoodlums of RC, lol.
Towing idea: A plane towing a cub without a motor😂
That's actually been done. At full scale. Absolutely whack.
I don’t know how a cub’s aerodynamics and weight is spread out and transferred, but I think removing a motor has a chance of making the plane unstable
@@SuzukiKQ700owner absolutely. Cubs glide quite well with the prop stopped. I know several pilots who have thermaled them to impressive altitudes.
Powered glider pulling unpowered cub
@@SuzukiKQ700owner- Yes you’d have to add weight to maintain center of gravity.
The FMS Beavers with the tow horn at the back of the wing s works well. Grate job guys as always.😅
Quad towing a glider is something i wanna see. Or even a big quad picking up a glider and then dropping it.
We pulled a pilatus porter 1.8 m once with a 5' 6s race wuad
Rctestfight used a huge expensive camera drone to lift a glider into the air. He makes crazy videos. My favorite is the full-size Ekrano plane he built with ThinkFlight and towed behind a ski boat trying to glide over the water. Let's just say the fall had to of hurt, lol.
I had a big drone that I used to drop a 1kg Strix Alatus wing. Was tricky due to the prop wash from the drone would make the wing twist around during the climb. Would be even more dicey with a large glider lol. I think a glider would need to be towed up from a large race drone to be successful.
Ideas:
1. Motorized glider towing a unmotorized cub
2. Multiplex Funjet (or any extremely fast planes) towing a glider
3. Plane towing a plane
Awesome, guys! Some really smooth crosswind flying there!
Love it. More glide tows please!
I am glad everyone had fun, and there were no accidents on video.
0:20 the Waco glider crash at the beginning has happened a lot with the 1:1 version, I just finished reading the aptly named book "The Brotherhood of the Flying Coffin". Gliders failing and crashing from bad assembly, fatigue, towing mishaps, not to mention flak and small arms fire in theater was definitely a thing 😢
Aerodynamic load exceeded design limitations. RIP. 🪦☠️
Bert's gonna be jealous that Ernie got to ride (a) Big Bird.
Great scheme on the freewing .
Another tow idea: float plane glider tow
👀
Y'all always crack me up. Y'all are like the hoodlums or hillbillies of RC. 😂I've been wanting to see someone tow an RC plane up with a submarine or turn the Traxxas Spartan RC boat into a motorized glider. Y'all are the ones who can make one of them happen.
Good save on the A-4! I probably would have lost it!
Helicopter or Drones towing the gliders up, haven't seen that yet!
You guys make Saturdays so much better🙌
I recognize a lot of those guys from the Marymoor Swap Meets :)
How about the E-flight EC-1500 towing through the cargo door with a retractable tow line. Love your videos and I am an old fart with way too much time spent trying to figure out how to screw something up.
Love a good tugg job🤣🤣🤣
Only a matter of time before someone fits a glider with a model rocket motor as a launch assist... and the real excitement happens. 😉
Estes literally sold these...
Nice gliders!
I did glider towing once with the umx ask-21 and it was awesome (ps only tow it with a umx airplane because it's not made to Handel stress,, in talking from experience 😂)
Thanks for the new video!!
Finally
Used a raptor 50 to tow years ago, that was a good time
All your problems are from towing from the tail with an RC tow plane. It pulls the tail all over the place. Better at the back of the wing. Or at the top of the CG.👍 happy flying.
We've towed our gliders that way for years without issue. The one issue you saw early in the video was purely pilot error. Even in my experience towing full scale gliders with a Super Cub, the tow rope was attached to the tail. ua-cam.com/video/Qc32d0OPBHM/v-deo.html 👍 -Zach
Awesome 👍🏻
I bought myself a Hobbyking Grand Tundra for this job!
When your lift ratio and the wind are that good, it basically becomes flying a string-free kite.
When flying a glider, always use small inputs since every input increases drag.
Tug jobs are UNDER-rated, big time.
I’d like to see some outside the box challenge for a single person to tow his own glider up by himself. Gyro in glider to help stay straight, pilot the tow plane, a friend standing nearby only holding the glider transmitter in case anything goes terribly wrong. The pilot would release the tow line at the beginning of a pass into the wind and try to land the tow plane while the glider slowly… glides, and then grab the glider transmitter and turn off the gyro and resume flying it.
Great video!
I loved this video so much, and I have no idea why.
I can't believe you did unusual tows and didn't feature a scale 747 though, missed opportunity tbh
Those were awesome
Love you guys 👍👍👏👏
@0:41 snake slither by in the grass!!? Hell nah…too the nah nah nah!
nice one! maybe try towing with a helicopter?
Dude that was a level 10 knot you handed me ☠
Yes! 6S!
Some say, I've been waiting for the tow plane for a while. Maybe even... All year.
Blimp towing a blimp towing a blimp (Blimp train) and each blimp carrying a glider
hoooooolly shit! dont forget the tow line need to be on the CG point mates :D
We've towed our gliders that way for years without issue. The one issue you saw early in the video was purely pilot error. 😁Even in my experience towing full scale gliders with a Super Cub, the tow rope was attached to the tail. The need to tow exclusively from the CG seems to be a common misconception in the RC world. ua-cam.com/video/Qc32d0OPBHM/v-deo.html -Zach
Firs viewer love the videos tail heavy, you are my favourite UA-cam channel ❤
Awesome.
Tug Jobs are most definitely not overrated...
Well you gotta use a glider to tow a glider one day lol
I’m a huge fan of your vids🎉
Use a model rocket to launch a glider (preferably a small one!)
Some time ago, I towed epp no control glider with beta 1400
Nice
RC car/truck glider tows
watched a guy at our club with a 30cc stick towing a 1.2m - 1.4m glider that had a sturdy plastic fuse.
every launch the stick pilot just went straight vertical and was up at altitude within a few seconds. after a few launches the glider guy noticed the front of his aircraft was literally being ripped off as the plastic had cracked. cant remember which, but it was a reputable brand glider of good design.
stick guy thought the glider was weak until i pointed out that you're supposed to just give him airspeed and let his wings lift him up by doing a few circuits and slowly gaining altitude, not just go vertical and literally rip the nose off his glider.
Take the motor from the Timber and put it on a glider and have the glider tow the Timber.
Piranha towing a glider. Might need a running start 😂 or, instead of hand launching a piranha try to tow it up.
Could I get some suggestions for a good first plane as I want something reasonably priced and still useful once I learn to fly it
Arrows Bigfoot served me well!
Its hard to say a specific plane but something like a high wing with tricyle gear should be really easy to fly and land and any plane when flown well you can do some fun stuff with
Grab yourself an Aeroscout!
You should do more float plane and formation flying.
What do your recommend as a 2nd plane? I have mastered the Aeroscout S2
Noice
Towing Idea: Powered Sailplane towing a sailplane towing a sailplane
The pilot was Ernie!!!
There used to be glider with props that filded in
You guys make the best videos on UA-cam (100%)👍
Cool video - what camera did you use to film the action?
Ive been told by many airplane and glider pilots alike that Your Never Supposed to get the Glider Above the Tow Plane cause it will pull the tail up and send the Tow Plane Straight Into the Ground at least it does on the full scale birds.....Im seeing alot of Glider Above the Tow Plane on this Video Boys!
That's what is great about RC. You can try things out and go beyond normal full-scale limitations without risking your lives. As you saw...it doesn't do as advertised when the tow plane has gobs of excess thrust. 😁
@@TailHeavyProductions Your 100% Right on that point had all the aviation pioneers had Rc Planes to test things out with 1st there woulda been a hell of a whole lot more Elderly Test Pilots Alive Today
@@TailHeavyProductions You mean gobs of excess lift

Towing idea: Powered sailplane towing a non sailplane that is then released and glided back to the runway.
Neat
How many can you tow in a line
So, um... 4:40... That's Ernie, not Bert... "Just saying..." 😉
Bushmaster towing a twimber because it does have enough power takeoff by it self.
What is that small glider? Looking for a light, smallish glider to do hi starts.
The air force should do this irl
Would save a lot of time
maybe towing a small glider with your UMX Turbo Timber Evolution? 😵💫
I've towed an ASK-21 with the original UMX Timber. It was a challenge. It was also fun.
Quadcopter glider tow.
Next step: Tow Twim using Ber.
I hated tow planes until i tried it. We did only had a velcro release on the sailplane this time. So i needed to drop down fast and the sailplane pull up.

Tow video starts at 05:17
Helicopter but its towing a glider like a plane *should*
I imagine that instead of towing it would be easier and safer to just grab onto the glider, and bring it into the air before dropping it. Or if you want to get fancy, give it a running start before releasing.
towing idea: a glider (a5w17 or aswit) towing a glider towing a glider
Pilot Ernie, not Bert😂
I tried rolling a real Ka8 and it didn't go so well.😂
Towing a glider with a fast EDF now that's something different or mad, I'm surprised the wings stopped on the glider.
Vne? Nah, Vwheeee! 🚀
But seriously, how many gliders folded under pressure?
Vne is a number made via flight testing and engineering data that is conservative and still well below the actual airspeed where an aerodynamic load would exceed the design’s limitations leading to a catastrophic structural failure. In our case, no airframes were harmed and no limits were met. 😛👍
Ik its a lot of work but man i wish you could post more
Anything with gassers
where do i get the a4 camo
That requires paint cans. 😛
A plane towing a plane towing a plane
Here under 300 views
I'm excited that you guys are "locals" now. Hope I catch you at a field someday.
This was old footage from 2020. We were born and raised in Seattle but now live in New England. 👍
@@TailHeavyProductions Dude, there's sequel to England now?
Stabilizers for the hand held camera would keep my eyes from hurting.
Quad gas turbine Concorde towing a target drone, while being chased by an English Electric Lightning.
Guy's, guy's, guy's... You really should have the tow rope on the CG on the tow plane. Just some knowledge real tow planes have crashed because the saiplane upsets the tow plane and they don't recover.

A glider towing a edf jet
Catch you next week with a new upload or up-tow?? Ha ha
Yo, do a RC glider pulling another RC glider
E-flite SR71 towing a Voltare 2 metre powered glider .
Oops , hang on ...
I got both and that's silly , just saying ...
What do you know about U-DUB? lol
Guys help I need to find an rc bush plane that’s less than 1.2meters
When are we gonna see a carbon zcub review or maul1.5 review just curious
That's Ernie not Bert
Let's see the focker tri plane toe a glider
Can y’all do a video on the Carbon Z Cessna 150T 🙏
