Fun fact: Post Malone did a stage dive at one of his performances and nobody caught him, so he proceeded to blame it on him being too fat
That's funny for a moment, but then you realise that Post's a metalhead, so it was probably a dream of his to someday do that. Now it's just sad... but also still a little bit funny.
I hope he was eventually able to fulfill his stage diving dream!
yeah he is a 6'0 dude and weight's propably like 200 pounds so it doest come as a suprise
@@jarltrippin Like Jack Black in the start of School of Rock.
Suicideinsilence 200 for someone whos 6'0 ft isnt too bad, my dads 6'2 and about 230 but he looks pretty average. But anyway lol, yeah I totally get what youre saying that stature can be pretty intimidating.
Post Malone was originally supposed to be in a metalcore band but it didn't work out so he started rapping. He writes all his songs on an acoustic guitar and then transposes it to electronic rap beats. That's why his songwriting is better than most of the rappers out there
Ineteresting. Ive always thought his songs were well written
@tyler Hargrove your a dipshit
He was trying to become a guitarist , specifically, for Crown The Empire.
Tyler Hargrove it takes actual talent so of course it’s better.
@@vermillionumbrella2939 He never said he didn't make it, he said things didn't work out.
5:40 "If I had a cap"
*Bone Thugz hat gently weeps*
This is what it sounds like when Thugz Cry.
@@amirofthedesert Metallica should cover that song live
Post Malone's music is a no for me, but he does have decent tastes in music, he likes pantera, metallica, elvis, johnny cash, megadeth etc.
And boy he's a nice person
Konny N he grew up listening to rock I’m pretty sure
Antichrist2000 - Correct me if im wrong but he's voice sounds like auto-tune
Edit: his*
Konny N his taste is more underground than you think. Thy Art is Murder, Sworn In, Stray From the Path and the list goes on. And he’s been seen wearing a Crowbar shirt onstage. It’s not just just that arena size metal.
@@ACommonlyWealthyDeer Infant Annihilator? That extreme? Do you have a source on this
I jam way too much Post when I drink.....It's just so good
- Angry Norwegian black metal dude
xIsfridx same dude
Satan my dude! Deutsch american black metaller here \m/
Same to be fair 😂
That’s unfortunate
Jesus, I can't stand Post :D all that R&B rap shit... I prefer Ice Cube and Eminem, and NWA, over that Malone pop.
-All sorts of metal genre type, rap/hip-hop and synthwave dude here.
The crowd is shouting “Posty” or that’s what only I hear. It makes more sense as ‘Posty’ is his nickname as I know.
pretty sure they say austin, wich is his name
They where chanting posty
Austin. His real namr
@hando hall The funny thing is he got post malone of a rap name generator site 😂
They were actually chanting 'T-Pose'
@@madisonhulton5813 it was the wutag clan name generator
4:55 *DoEs MuSiC sNoB iS gAy?*
I had contemplated doing that meme in the video
All that sexual tension from the Bruno Mars Versace on the Floor video is coming back out.
👌
The rumor come out
Ship mike and post
8:33 Are you saying this pop song uses a ii, V, I progression, but makes ii feel like the home (hence, dorian mode) because of the way the IV chord is used? If that's correct, thats awesome!
Essentially yeah. It can be viewed as the typical ii, V, I but I don't think that is a comprehensive view of the chord prog. Especially given the melody.
Agreed. Great video, just learnt something thanks to you and Post, I would never have identified that! Cheers, and congrats on 100k \m/
I really like when you nerd out, feeling like some kind of alien cause i actually know what you're talking about.
A casual listener wouldn't know what a minor key is hahaha
Congrats on 100k subs man!
Thanks! This seriously means a lot haha.
Tell me if I am wrong but post grew listening to rock music.
He’s a rock and metal fan for sure though.
Dont Pretend he played guitar for a metal core band when he was a teenager
They're saying Posty. That's his nickname.
Rollin Rollin, w my brothers like we're Allman Allman? That could of be more respectable aha, would rhyme w his vocal style as well
So much better
I like that much better, but I honestly think the reason he went with Jonas is because he's young and watched them on the Disney channel or whatever lmao
what do you mean by the room being so tight..what room are you talking about?
Um... Coen Coen?
Doobie, Doobie?
7:49 ... I’m just gonna timestamp this... for reasons...
LOL
Post Malone is literally like my fav thing to happen to pop in like forever .... Its pop enough to be mainstream but (alternative???) enough to be interesting to everyone fucking else.
I really hate using alternative to describe music but its all i can think of. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here we are !!! 100k !!! Congrats man !
Wouldn't be shocked if he watches you. Hes a big fan of Jared Dines
My kids exposed me to Post. Somehow I found a couple of his songs growing on me when I was trying to tune them out as kids listened. So out of curiosity I dig a little digging and found that he actually has some training as a musician and can play (I can't attest to any talent level) a few instruments, and that on many of his songs he wrote on guitar and then did the beats, accents, etc. later on in the studio.
I also learned he's a fan of Rock, and most especially a fan of Elvis and even got to participate in the anniversary show they recently aired.
Love your reviews and take on many things!!! Rock on!! 🤘
*did a little digging. (Please excuse any typos).
Congrats on 100K Mike!
100K!!!! Good job Mike, I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work. \m/
Pretty sure they are chanting Austin and not Halsey
I heard posty
They’re chanting Posty
Snob lord opinion on Behemoth
BIRD ON FIRE yes definitely
He was saying in several videos that he dislike black metal.
@@user-ys4zc6ru8r Behemoth isnt exactly black metal though, and their production is great
Anyways I have an impression that Mike is not really into that stuff. He doesn't like blast beats and he is not a fan of the vocal style. He reviewed a few extreme metal songs in SSF and wasn't very positive.
I think he'd have some interesting things to say about O Father O Satan O Sun or Bertzebel, both are quite different from your usual black metal. What I'd him to listen to out of that sphere would be something by Imperial Triumphant though.
Congratulations on 100,000 subs guy!
Congrats on the 100k mike! Keep up the great work mate.
I'd check out GHOSTEMANE. He has roots in metal and often integrates it into his rap music. Euronymous is my favorite song of his.
His he the giy that often collaborates with J.I.D.?
@ Heh
@@insertname8889 I'm unsure, I'm in the process of exploring his discography.
Ghoste is bae, his new album is coming out oct 17
My own opinion but Ghostemane is not very good. I love metal and some rap but I can't stand his music. I understand a lot like him but to me I can't get into it
Congrats on 100,000 subs!
Hey! Congrats on 100 000 subs!!
I wish I could give this 10,000 thumbs up. You just got a fan for life bro
Congrats on 100k subs!
Being a genuine guy is what makes two of you and Post. Keep doing what you do, man! \m/
I've been freaking waiting for this review
I'm not really into Rap, but I do like some of Post Malone's catalog.
CONGRATS ON 100K MIKE!!!
You’ve found a guilty pleasure!😉
Love your vids man!
Congrats on 100k dude!
Hey mate, gratz on the 100k.. Well deserved ^-^
I got to say dude, congrats on hitting 100K subscribers!
Great vid as always, Mike. Quick question: What resources do you recommend for people who want to get a better grasp of music theory? Specifically chord progressions.
Congratulations on 100k subs Mike!
He actually covered rage against the machine and Metallica, he has an amazing taste in music
Oh wow, you're really close to 100k subs congrats! :)
I love your shirt!
I'm so with you on the refreshingly genuine content coming from Post Malone. He may not be the greatest lyricist ever, but his music is intelligently constructed and plays well to his strong suits as well as to the masses. He does an awesome job conveying a feeling/vibe that we can all get down with, and has managed to stay humble despite it all. Even the hip wiggle, and the cowboy boots..and the face tats, it's all part of that oddball persona we've come to know and love, because it's real!!
Love your videos and was wondering your thoughts on Emerson, Lake, And Palmer.
Benzos are in fact pills, the guitarist of my band used to be addicted to benzos
I think i'm in love with Future Mike.
Good review my dude
I'm Watching This While Eating Pizza Best Decision Ever
Jealous of your pizza
Noted the bone thugz n harmony hat in the background, thankfully my older brother listened to them so I would hear crossroads and stuff growing up.. man I’m glad I found this channel.
Don’t apologize for nerding out! I’m taking an AP music theory class right now, so it just makes me smile to hear this stuff.
Great video! Another song that comes to mind with a Dorian chord progression is Get Lucky.
I can smell a 100k special video coming
Why does it feel like mike's love for H3H3 spilled over post Malone's table? Regardless I can dig his music. And Mike natural minor and Dorian mode have been used a lot in trap rap realm. Freakin Jake Paul used it
Yeah..Like Post-Malone's persona but I feel that people are biased towards him because of that and his presence with someone like Ethan..I'm pretty sure if it was someone obnoxious,a lot more would be going at his generic music as well
@@SARYM911 couldn't agree more
Damn. Guess I'll try Post Malone now. :P
Oh yeah congrats on the 100k subs Mike! :D
I like his vibrato in the "ooos"
I wish I had the level of theory knowledge, damn when you started talking about Dorian mode I just lost any idea that I have a grasp on true music theory, I just pick chords and strum till a song comes, video is a total banger though, good on ya man
When I hear this rapid vibrato I think of that Jim Carrey singing scene in The Cable Guy.
Post is one the best man.
I love him so much.
One of the nicest people ever.
Dude is fucking great.
My mans mike just got 100k subscribers
Congrats
Watch his all apologies - nirvana cover
8 more subs to 100k!! Grats Man!
let's get this bromance on the road!
i fucking love that a metal head can appreciate posty watermalouny i listen to metal too and he has such a cool style
I love future Mike snippets. Makes the video better. Post definitely writes good music.
They are not shouting halsey, They are shouting Austin which is his real name
Oh lol!!! It totally sounded like Halsey to me.
@@BecomeTheKnight yea i gotta admit it really does
Become The Knight I think they were saying Posty, which is his nick name
@@fscorpion678 look bro, search "Post malone live" and you can easily find one where everyone is shouting Austin very clearly.
Oskari Kojola L O O K B R O
And post covered all apologies in concert
Totally with you on the high hat thing. In any song.
You're officially my new favorite channel. Your other video defending Malone actually changed my mind on him, and I really wanted to hate the guy on the principle of the dumbing trend of these styles in general. Thanks for making me dig into this and finding some authenticity where I expected the vacuum of talent and maturity that is so common of the mumblers. That's not to say he's the model of maturity amongst his peers, unless his peers are Lil Yachty and Lil Xan, or pretty much anyone with the title of Lil. In which case he should be their leader. Then mumble rap may have a brighter future.
While it's often kind of comforting to find some validation in criticism (and especially the hideous face tattoos), I'm not seeking music and criticism to feed my echo chamber. It's great to have someone with your credibility and presentation actually change my preconception and inevitably remind me to consider more before I make that critical call on the value of this guy and his contribution to music. Thank you!
Nice review of the song and artist. A UA-camr did this in an 80s style and it was quite good.
FYI: Almost hitting 100k subs dude!
Almost at 100k
Mike and Post song would be funny. Prog rap
Love that future Mike 😂😂
Definitely one of the best cuts on bb&b, over now, which is almost the companion piece to this song, is equally if not more fantastic and has a lot of the same emotional honesty which makes him stand out in the music scene
I cannot wait to see what else he does going foward, he wears so much of his influence on his sleeve even when it doesn't gel with the genre he resides in and I admire that a lot
The man mentioned Rage in an interview so that has my respect
I'm pretty sure they were chanting "Posty" lol
You should check out some of his other songs like Over Now and Up There.
6:18 "And I'm rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin
With my brothers like we're Allman, Allman"
The crowd was yelling "posty"
Post is a real chill dude from what I've seen
I cant help but love Posts personality so freaking humble. And his live accoustic sets are great, Also if anyone reading this got the time look up his live cover of Killing in the name of. Its freaking great xD
Songs in Dorian; Get Lucky - Daft Punk, Scarborough Fair - Simon & Garfunkel, So What - Miles Davis, Wicked Game - Chris Isaac, Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Boulevard of Broken Dreams is in regular Aeolian, don't know about the other ones tho
So it is, my mistake. Not sure why I thought it was. I also forgot to mention every funk song ever, in particular ‘good times’ by chic.
He said pop songs. While you could make the argument that these songs all have pop elements, i wouldn't say any of these are pop some.
9:45 Boulvard of broken dreams
This guy fascinates me
That post Malone flirt was adorable Mike 💞
8:42 dat headstock though! :P
And...he's a dallas cowboys fan so, we relate on that level! LOL
I really like the intro to better now, that guitar
Definitely saying posty at the beginning of his music video
Beerbongs & Bentleys was a modern day classic imo. Every song on it was at best amazing and at worst super catchy and lovable
I think at the beggining they were shouting "Posty" (That's how some fans call him) :D
Post Malone is my favourite black metal artist.
His song Stay is also good.
Post's weird vibrato in the end of his lines it's actually organic, he actually do it with his voice, it's not post production, he discussed this technique in an interview
I surprisingly grown to like this song
Here’s the thing with post. His main filling card is his songwriting and lyrics. Besides that, nothing much too him. He does the auto tune rap thing that everyone is doing. I love his songs but if you’re like Mike and are not super into lyrics, you’re not gonna be super into post Malone cause that’s the main thing he brings to the table
"super into lyrics like mike is" lol, you know mike isnt super into lyrics if you watch much of him. he happened to appreciate them for this song but generally he hates songs that entirely rely on lyrics, he specifically said that when reviewing cocaine blues by cash iirc. "if you want a story read a book" being another thing hes said regarding people who only analyze lyrics
Jordan Keeler I know. I thought I stated he wasn’t super into lyrics
Jordan Keeler Maybe I made it more clear now
Post Malone is known for his lyricism? 😂Hell no. The dude is so basic with his lyrics. I read your comment and actually said "What?" Out loud. 😂
I don’t normally listen to music like his but I’ve seen him live and and he’s actually really good
