A tax ain't gonna stop cars from being heavy cuz they still need to meet crash test standards, emissions, and buyers still expect comfort, tech, speed, all in one package...a tax will just penalize the buyer's not the manufacturers, the real solution is to dial back all these regulations to where it was in the 90's

Nobody asked for this. The last generation M5 was so beautiful, especially the CS.
Nobody asked for the European Union to implement stricter emission regulations either which is said to be even tougher in July 2025. Car manufacturers are trying to work around it so we are in that transitional phase, that's why MB has gone down this same road. This is the result of that. Would have thought this information would be common sense to most ppl but it appears its not 😂😂

In 2021 they built the M5 CS, one of the greatest BMWs ever built and easily the best M5 ever built. Its crazy that just 3 years later they made this thing

Simple physics, a 2.6-ton mass cannot move with agility, not even with so much technological assistance. It’s a real shame that car brands, in general, are focusing more on big screens, interior lights, etc., rather than on the true pleasure of driving.
Its even worse when you consider BMW's tagline....

Everyone misses it I'm sure but we're not in the early 2000's anymore. Times change and so does technology. You can't keep living in the past.

I don’t miss my E60 M5’s gearbox.
When they worked, they were great sounding engines. Trouble was, they never worked for long.

All curb weights have gone up for production cars...
1. Crash safety requirements and structural reinforcement adds weight.
2. Buyers want all the latest technological gadgets and add-ons options as standard, those add weight.
3. Buyers want all the luxurious amenities like 8-way seats, heated seats and steering wheel in winter, air-cooled seats in the summer, entertainment for backseat passengers, etc... And it adds even more weight.

Where the drama? Where the fun?? That was the most boring run of a fast car I’ve ever seen. No noise, no enthusiasm. Just wind noise and the heaviest vehicule on that starting line since the Rolls Royce Cullinan
There’s no reason why an m240 which cost 74k less, is louder than the M5 + the M5 has a V8
So quiet that you would miss it fly by.

this is what I thought - I like how side profile some kind of share e60 lines and the front has f10 DNR.

@@mogahadfadah5694 The E60 M5 has always looked very feminine and feline to me (personally I prefer the E39 over E60), and this looks nothing like it.
not the m5 I was look for, but it would make an incredible daily driver as a bigger more spacious car with more luxury and all the power you need, if BMW made a M7, then this is it. I would definitely buy this in the future hopefully.
Never saw an M5 plod before
The only reason most are focused on how they think this thing is moving slower that it actually is, is because we’ve been told how much it weighs. We see how it does when you put it up against the competition. And we already know BMW always has some tricks up its sleeves and will not let this beast fall by the wayside, regardless of how much it weighs. Believe That!
It's slower in a straight line than the old model, I don't see how it can be faster around corners either. The lap times have got to be slower than the old model, surely?

It also has the instant torque of EV tech in there… the mid-range will be very strong.
Sure, it’s not a track car, get an M2C if you want a track car.
For most use cases: Business / Family travel & the added bonus of zero fuel costs when doing local trips… it ticks a lot of boxes.
