charles lyman thank you! Glad to hear there are others who haven't given up on these old cars! Despite their peculiarities, i love FCs. Thanks for watching!
I"m surprised you don't have many subscribers and viewers. You make better videos than some of those people here on youtube. I enjoy watching your videos. I have an rx7 S5 too.
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. To be honest, I don't advertise my little channel all that much. I just realized there is a lack of good info out there for FCs, so why not put the little I know out there? PS, you got an instagram? Add me @ rotary_knight! Thanks again!
ldadol thank you! Yeah the FC seats have seen better days and in all honesty the only stock seats i would drop money on are the infini seats, but damn they're expensive lol.
I'm wondering what I can use as replacement seats in my FC vert.. I don't care about the headrest speakers but I do want something that uses stock seat belt and something that will hold me snug without like 5" tall bolsters
How much customizing do you want to do? The RX8 seats are really nice but require some work to make them fit. I have a video how I installed mine, and you can see how they look. As for aftermarket, I'm not sure too sure on reclining seats. It's hit or miss. Brides are pretty small but you need a small frame as well lol. What do you have in mind?
n0ti5 I wanted the sliders so i can actually reposition the seat if necessary. You could get it down lower if you don't need the sliders in place. This was meant to show what can be achieved with the sliders.
@@AlexFranceschi I recently just tried the corbeaus in my TII and I ended up returning it. Even with the fixed bracket my head was still hitting the roof, it was also tight for my thighs. I would have needed to make a custom bracket and remove the padding to just to fit. I also wasn't a fan of the wide shoulders, when shifting I was having to push against the seat which would have tired my shoulder out. I think I am going to try some Tillett B5 seats next they are much lower without those wide shoulders.
@@capnthepeafarmer that's too bad, but good luck on the search! If only it was easy to walk into a store and try all the various seats out. Body types and seating position are different for everyone. I'm 5'11" but long legs and medium torso. I sit reclined so that gives me a bit more headroom...and I'm built like a twig lol.
I love this video because I am in the process of trying to buy some seats! I too have a FC3S! What is the maximum seat height can the seat fit into the rx7? that’s including the side and bottom mount bracket bolted on
I can't say for sure because I haven't tried all the different seat combinations, but I recently installed RX8 seats into my car (I need to finally finish that video) and the back is a couple inches taller than the stock FC seat. However, the hip point stays at the same height or even lower. The FC has the room, it's just how you mount the seat, try to make the mounts as low profile as possible. Use the RX8 seat dimensions if you like as a comparison, if it's bigger than that seat, I can't comment on the fitment. Good luck!
Hey bro, what seat/braket do u think I should run for my FC. I'm 6'3" and I have a flat top hair cut and I touch the ceiling all day haha. My friend welds so I might just do a custom braket but idk yet... Thanks good work 👌🏿
Alvin Ameyaw if i were you, i would go with something like the street faction brackets i have in the description (since you won't need sliders). Or have your friend fabricate something similar along those lines. That will be the lowest you can get without having to cut the stock mounting points and go straight to the floor. But you'll for sure want a seat with side mounts. Also, getting yourself in a good recline position can gain you a little extra space. Goodluck man!
Nice vid. Just finished putting in Braum racing seats into my FC which I've owned for 30 years. Nice to see another long-term FC owner out there.

Ok I followed you. Thanks.
Glad you’re back homie! Video is actually a really great subject since lots of FC’s have torn stock seats.

Nice to see you back!
chris mutter good to see ya too! Lol

nice setup, but cant you get the seat mounted lower with the car base mount and the side brackets only?

I'm 5'8" and even with a helmet it hits the roof. I'm currently looking at corbeaus
To be honest, this setup is the most room I've had in an FC with adjustable rails. You can get lower with a fixed bracket, but then no adjustability.
