@@connorhale341 dude if u just started playing stop watching elden ring videos honestly. If i could have a wish I wish I could erase ER from my memory so I can play it again for the first time
@mirteoda Good advice! That's why I only watched like the first five minutes of the video. Also, when I said "just started" I meant I have about 50 hours into it, haha.
Something that’s often overlooked in Elden ring is the overall art direction. Nothing is tacky nothing is novelty it’s very tasteful classic and true to dark fantasy. Absolutely masterful
You took words outta my mouth. This is why I generally dislike many fantasy games, especially the ones that try to mimic Souls series. They often end up too extravagant in their design (DeS remake, Lords of the Fallen, etc.). Souls series often shows restraint in that aspect and masterfully walks a fine line where it does not fall into such excess.
It's Miyazakis vision. He tells his designers that everything should have a sense of grace and elegance, even if it has been corrupted. No stuff that's just gross for the sake of being gross
38:50 What I love about Gideon the most is how he's known as the All-Knowing, yet we slowly see how he actually _doesn't_ know everything, so his final confrontation being about how he didn't, and probably still doesn't, understand Marika's plans was a great end to his character.
Elden ring was my first souls game. Before my first playthrough I read in an interview that Miyazaki recommended to stay away from the wretch class. So I decided to make it my first ever class in my first playthrough. I didn’t understand anything. How scaling work, status builds, I even went without upgrading my weapon until I reached lyndell. The first real weapon I found was also the weapon that carried me to the end of the game to slay a god…the bloodhound fang. My first ending was “age of the stars” as I randomly stumbled apon the carian manor by complete accident and ran into Ranni. I was so intrigued by her that stopped my search for the elden ring and did her entire questline before even beating Morgot. Almost my whole life Ocarina of time was my favorite game. Elden ring has replaced it. My only real regret for elden ring is that I intentionally spoiled myself on certain parts before playing such as bosses, item locations and story parts. This is my favorite game of all time. It has actually had a huge impact on my life & I am very excited for the dlc.
i’ve always said ocarina of time lovers adore this game and perhaps even like it more. The inspiration is blatant and it’s so satisfying to finally see a true and open fantasy world with very distinctive locations fleshed out
I had never played a souls game before this, when I found the Siofra elevator and walked into that underground landscape I was in awe. I remember seeing Mohgs mausoleum thinking it was a cool looking thing in the background…I didn’t ever get there until about 180 hours into playing the game. I always tell people I wish I could completely forget this game so I could experience it again for the first time. I currently just started my first new character since and the awe is still there. Best game of all time.
We all most definitely wish we could erase our memories and experience this game for the first time .. nothing not even sex compares to your first Elden Ring playthrough.. I’ll stand on that.
This was also my first souls game i never got drawn to the games because my younger self was more in to shooters and elden ring was on sale a few months after it came out and i dont know why but i decided to buy it and i feel like i ripped from soft off because i only payed £25 Best decision i have ever made because wow what a game i instantly went and bought all the souls type games as soon as i finished elden ring they got me hooked
I don't understand how people say this games has no replayablity because this whole game is designed for you to play it over and over, i can remember how many time I'm just exploring and then a cool weapon or spell and think it would be cool to make a build around it, the amount of cool weapons, spells, talismans and armor is amazing and its a main reason why people keep replaying the game.
good for you, but for the majority the game stops being fun once you gotta re-explore the map and honestly not even halfway through does it become obvious as to how boring and copy n pasted everything is
@@alenezi989a3 idc the game is literally bad, from Melania's impossible attack to dungeons and bosses being the exact same, the game sucks and it should've been ds4 instead of this npc pandering shit
@@brosoul9323ur a classic no brain having mf. You dont even know that the ds series canonically ended with ds3 so you cannot possibly have a ds4. Oh and one last thing, about elden ring having apparently "copy pasted" things all over the map (completely untrue garbage btw), you are not forced to play the game until you beat all 165/238 (idk how many there are) bosses bro, most of them give you something that you will likely never use. I speak for peronal experience cuz i got the platinum yesterday and still have not beaten even 1/4 of all the bosses probably, so stfu.
23:48 "And aside from Radahn and Mogh, every demigods leaves behind a trace of themselves when they die" Ohhh the connection to Shadow of the Erdtree was all planned.
I jumped into Elden ring about six months after its release but the hype was still there and I can see why I’m glad I get to be apart of this awesome community
That’s great to hear, welcome in Brother. I started my from soft journey with blood-borne and then my little brother got me the Eldon ring pre-order before I had played any of the other games.
There's a small list of games that you beat and immediately want to start a brand new playthrough. The world building and sense of exploration, finding huge hidden regions like with the Ranni questline, make you feel like a kid again
I join you in urging anyone who has not yet played to try Elden Ring. Myself, 56, been gaming since Pong, never thought the Souls games were for me but gave ER a shot. Able to git gud enough to start to enjoy the game and have not looked back. Never have I loved a game more. Getting involved with the whole community, the UA-camrs, the lore that comes with it is the delicious icing on a masterclass cake.
@@firmak2 Well, the exponential growth of what is capable in gaming is one thing. But I think what's just as remarkable is how gaming became more and more culturally popular and 'cool' along the way. In some ways I actually miss how 'niche' it used to be, you know? But I wouldn't trade today's quality and variety of gaming for anything.
I'm a bit older than you and somehow stumbled onto Dark Souls 1 a few years ago. Has always thought it was just some super punishing fighting game, but fell in love with the world there and then. Can recommend goinbg back to DS1 and giving it a try. Well, they are all worth it if you like the Elden Ring style.
I have played Elden Ring on the day of its release, and to this day I still come back to it from time to time, I have never played a game as good Elden Ring, the world, the combat, the RPG mechanics, the bosses especially the bosses & legacy dungeons, truly one of a kind experience, and certainly From Software's magnum opus, a game that propelled them at the top echelon of video game excellence. Amazing video.
SoTE had a development of 2 years, more or less 2/5 of ER development. It Will be roughly the same size as Limgrave, perhaps a bit larger, but way more dense. It also has 10 new Boss fights, and It Will use more the legacy Dungeons, which was the favorite Part of the Game by the community. So It wouldn't be bold to assume that It Will be better than the main game.
I understand the complaints some people throw around with this game but a lot of them aren’t flaws so much as weaker aspects of an otherwise perfect game. Probably the best game I’ve ever played.
Yeah one of the biggest points people make is reused enemies/bosses. Like there’s over 160 unique enemy types in Elden Ring. I believe more than any other game out there. Some of them being re used isn’t that big of a deal for me.
no one cares about the compaints about this game tbh, its just that good. and most ppl complaining about this game are delusional souls veterans with a disgusting amount of nostalgia bias anyway, rendering their "critiques" muted and valueless. easily the best fromsoft game by a gigantic margin and one of the best games of all time.
@@Childofbhaalit’s kinda like a Stephen king book. The beginning and middle was fantastic, but once you get to the end, you’re not enjoying those end areas as much as the earlier ones. You’re just trying to get to the next new boss. I wish that they took some of the padding out of the beginning in middle and put more time into the end
@@Childofbhaalmap is too big. Fighting the enemies feels like a waste of time bevause they 2 shot you, tank 500 hits, item drop rate is 0.5% and the souls you get are not in any way in relation to what you had to defeat. Bosses dont feel cool if you have to fight them 5 times. Endgame is bad. Multiplayer experience is horrible. Exploring doesnt feel as rewarding because all hotspots are marked on your map. Most things i enjoyed in elden ring came from their previous titles. ER story is pretty cool tho, i like the symbolism and i liked that they included more endings than dark souls. Most of ERs problems (in my opinion) is that making complete open world game damaged the pasing of the game, even tho i liked that it kept growing and growing. Its not a bad game but its defenitely far from a perfect title
Your Godrick moment for me was with Rykard. I was pretty underleveled and underequipped in my first blind playthrough, and I was stoked when I finally beat the serpent. When he revealed his face and grotesquely pulled out the blasphemous blade from his throat, I got chills. Absolutely love that boss.
Totally. And to cap it off, his Lady started MUNCHING his head afterward. Jaw dropped for me, and so disgusting that I killed her. Then got immediately INVADED! hahaha i love this game.
I am not a gamer. Never would I try to play this game. But I’ve watched my favourite streamer playing it slowly and thoroughly. Frequently I sat there with my jaw dropped and couldn’t believe what I was seeing there. And all the stories were so fascinating yet they didn’t make much sense altogether. So I wanted to find out more and found a well of UA-camrs who were dedicated to fit the pieces together. By that I found out that this game even uses heaps of ancient society culture, religion, buildings, statues, carvings to build connections inside the stories and the places that connect these stories. But it’s all very easy to be overseen while playing. One has to wander through that game like an archaeologist and connect all the dots. The picture becomes brighter and vaster and still you realise that you only discovered the top of the iceberg and that it’s still only your imagination that can try to bring the pieces together and make sense of everything. And so can every other gamer which is just beautiful. So many come together and share their thoughts ❤ I consider this game greater than a masterpiece
Spot on. Elden Ring absolutely killed everything for me. I have over 100 play throughs and I still can’t get enough of it and I always find something new. Since I’ve master all the other fromsoft titles. Though Bloodborne is my favorite. There is no denying that Elden Ring is fromsoft best game.
@@magnetarkhan I just like trying different weapons and builds. Or challenge runs. I don't get how people have fun on cod using the same 2 guns all day. Idk I guess it's preference 😂
6:40 Sekiro was their first attempt at jumping and swimming, and they absolutely nailed it too. From Software is just too powerful at being able to do whatever they want to do.
Yes, I meant it in the same way that the new mechanics for their traditional soulslikes we're in other games but refined, the jumping is included in this. Too bad you can't jump on any bosses though.
Excellent video man. A lot of these kinds of videos tend to just repeat story plots and game mechanics without giving their own input, but this was a perfect balance. Subscribed.
Awesome, so true. I'm about to finish NG+9 and will definitely be starting NG+10! I was a WoW player, unbroken Sub since 2004, (and I've never played a Souls game) but I've barely stepped into Azeroth since the door to the Lands Between opened for me. I love Elden Ring so much.
Just reached your Caelid section. That's where I quit the game on my initial caster playthrough. I still have the save, but it's been over 12 months. I just started again and going STR.
I got this game on launch day. I just looked at my Xbox year in review. I had over 1,000 hours on it this year alone. I just keep trying new builds and doing challenge runs. I don't even do Co-op or PvP.
personally i actually really like the sewer mogh fight for story reasons. he's presumably an illusion in the same way margit is, projected by the real mogh. note that he's specifically guarding the path to the frenzied flame proscription, and that there's a barrier from morgott blocking that path too. this implies that the frenzied flame is _so bad_ that the omen twins are willing to collaborate to keep it contained despite having diametrically opposed goals and ideals. For the extra astel, it's kinda just following through on the fact that these things are a _species_. the fallenstar beasts seem to be the larval form, and the malformed stars dangling in caves seem to be in the process of pupating into the adult form. (i also have a complicated crackpot theory that the elden beast is an astel that has been taken over by the greater will). imo the godfrey shade makes the real deal's phase transition all the more impactful. and it makes sense that the shade doesn't have it since morgott, who is presumably responsible for the shade, would never have seen him as horah lough. sidenote i do adore elden ring but as far as i'm concerned bloodborne has still yet to be topped, and Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower remains the best boss fromsoft have ever made.
In the last almost two years I have watched my favourite UA-camr play through this game a staggering 40 times with over 1600h played and every time he plays it it’s a different character, build and percentage. Granted that means he hasn’t 100 percented the game 40 times but each play through is an average of 30-35h and every time he plays the game I see something new. I am by no means a gamer, the last game I played was A Link to the Past in 1990 but this one has me awestruck, after all, I’m here watching your video. Curiously enough though, his favourite game of all time is Dark Souls lll. Edit ~> I just told you I watched *********** play this game 40 or so times. I just saw a whole shitload of things in this video that I’ve never seen. This game is a masterpiece. Oh, I agree that some game developers have to be on d*ugs. I’d like to be inside the head of one of the devs that made this game but only for 5 minutes. 😊😂
Best game I have ever played, and I am still playing the game and find it hard to find anything that keeps me playing, only Lies of P kept me playing with its fun factor since ER released.
Not only is this one of the most beautiful looking games it runs so perfect. Very rarely do I have performance issues while playing. I don’t understand why I can’t get that with every new game I buy
I used to say classic thru WotLK WoW was peak gaming. Then I played RDR2. Then I played ER. Then I played DS3 and realized what I had been missing out on
Zelda, Elden Ring, RDR2, all of these games (and the franchise of Zelda) need to be at least tried by everyone and completed multiple times by people like us
That was definitely a first time moment for me because Elden Ring was the first game to introduce such massive scale to its world and structures. It all looked like backdrops until I realized i could go their
Good retrospective on Elden ring after the “honeymoon phase” as you said it still holds up. 24:00 Radahn leaves behind the biggest impact on the world, he can’t hold the stars up anymore and one crashes into the Weeping Peninsula and leaves a massive crater that reveals the entrance to Nokron, Eternal City. Lore-wise defeating him “sets the stars free” making Ranni’s quest possible. I loved Eden Ring and love seeing positive videos about gaming on YT. Good job again! Edit: idk why I thought radahn made the crater revealing nokron. It was a falling star
That's my favorite part of the game. All the buildup to Radahn, beating him and seeing the stars move again and crash down, then realizing an entirely new world unlocks underneath the ground
@@jarlwhiterun7478 It’s mine too. I wish I could re experience seeing the world gradually open up for the first time going pass Stormveil and into Linuria. Seeing the sky open up above you when you reach the cliffs around the lake is stunning. Then the world opens up again but this time downward into the crater exposing Nokron after getting a glimpse of the underground through the Ainsel River Well in mist wood .
my hard and hot take about summons and the mimic in particular is that if the game is going to give me a double boss fight that’s already duplicating enemies i fought earlier then i’m gonna hit them back with two of me great video, love the enthusiasm for such a good game and you made me relive some of my favorite moments
That's how I felt. I'm not one of those people who take pride in beating the bosses alone. Yes it's cool but I'm here for the exploration and mechanics. If the boss is OP well two can play at that game.
I sunk over 100 hours into this game and thought I’d seen it all, then I discovered a new underground area I completely missed. No other game comes close to that feeling. Bravo, from soft👏
well that's on you for not exploring thouroughly enough, besides that goes for every game if you don't explore enough: you'll find a new area, it's not unique to elden ring.

I’m actually hopeful for games going forward. So many games have come out which are so incredible that I’ll be revisiting them years and years after they’ve come out, like Elden Ring (and all souls games tbh), indies like Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, RoR2, and older games like SoTN that I’ve played and many more I will when I don’t have any other games I want to play. Elden Ring is for sure gonna be one of the timeless games like Doom or SoTN and the early Blizzard catalogue that still hold up decades on, and while I thought this would be a rare thing going forward I’m thrilled that 2023 actually managed to hold up to 2022 with Baldur’s Gate 3. Hoping we’ll get another classic in 2024 to match Elden Ring and BG3.
I took my sweet time to play formsoft game. The lack of fun in most single player games and getting tired of competitive, I stumbled across Sekiro. As a ninja lover and love to run my head to walls I instantly hook to the game. So I gave it a try. Tho the sekiro first play through was so fucking brutal, the amount of dopamine rush after I won over bosses got me soo addicted. Then the infamous Elden Ring came out. I was late to join the party because this is actual soul game since sekiro can be considered different style. But I decided to gave it a try and holy moly this game is humongous. I am almost 100 hrs in and still haven’t finished yet. I am actually traveling in that Land. The amount of emotional roller coster i am having in this game is unparalleled. The game actually ruin other games except the soul series themselves. I am directionally challenged but I never know my brain is capable of remembering exact place just by some gameplay surprises me XD. For those still thinking or havent try this game, I strongly recommend this. This is the landmark of how far the game have become. The only downside is consumption of time and the game will test you to the point that sometime u dont even recognize yourself. Rise ye tarnished, thy strength befits the crown.
I started playing DS3 again for the first time in a few years and while it’s still a fantastic game the improvements made in Elden Ring make it difficult to play.
I'm the opposite. Elden ring is difficult to play after witnessing ds3. I don't have to fight 10 of the same bosses. I also don't have to worry about leveling up to high before a boss. Elden ring is a good game but it's highly over rated

I remember after launch another youtuber named ACG brought up the art design of the trees and their draw distance making them look like a painting… ever since hearing that, its clear whatever sorcery From used for draw distance using their old and decrepit engine is amazing. If the next fromsoft title could use something like Unreal as the engine to lock in better frame rates and resolution, itll be industry breaking. Clearly their game/level/story lore/art design/and musical scoring is the best, esp. given the fact their engine is old AF. Now imagine bloodborne but in 60fps official release, thatd be such an easy hundred million for them. People would flock to it. Elden ring, WoW, counterstrike source, and GTA i was fortunate enough to play at release for all of these! They really set the bar above whatever bar there was.
That opening statement is 100% right 0:22. After playing ds1 I couldn’t play any other game with any amount of enjoyment for 4 months the game that pulled me out was Minecraft lol😅
I say this in almost every video that has this game as a subject, but the last time a game really GRABBED me like this, where I mean pulled me into the lore, the community, this world, was stepping out of that lifeboat, way back in 2001, and seeing this massive ring looping up in the sky. You know that you’re experiencing a moment in time, that’s genuinely something special.
Started a new character ready for the dlc so it’s not on high new game plus . I’ve got over 800 hours now still can’t get over the world design and animations . Everything is hand crafted to perfection. Every enemy type has its own character and animation style . Every weapon feels like a sub class . The whole world is a joy to be in sometimes il just sit next to a merchant or on a hill and look at the view for like fifteen minutes 😂 deserves to be in a museum for art or something . Historically good
Mesmer-izing indeed. Upon initial release you used to be able to go around stormveil, enter through the back, and fight godrick never encountering Margitt
Love the part of this video about exploration, one of the best parts of Elden Ring is how it constantly shows you how wrong you were about how big the world really is. Finding the Siofra River Well was the moment that won me over on my first playthrough.
Thanks a lot for this video. 😊 I love Elden Ring too (although it does have a few minor flaws). And what I appreciate is the humorous delivery of your commentary. 😁 Had quite a couple of moments where I chuckled or laughed. Fantastic job you did!

Margit and Godfrey's clones I think were created by Morgott, but Mohg I think was conjured by Mohg himself. I don't have any sources to back that up it's just something I feel. I mean if you think about it Mohg would not want anyone to become the lord of frenzied flame, as that would completely destroy his plans to make a new dynasty with Miquella. And so to prevent anyone from interacting with the three fingers, he conjures a clone of himself to guard the only path leading to the frenzied flame.
@@Boc_theSeamster first of all Mohg has the same golden aura as Margit and Godfrey, and we know that to be the mark of Morgott's magic, not Mohg. Although that benefits him too, I still think Morgott is behind this scheme.
@@lahunica2726 Oh you're right. I guess I didn't notice that mohg's clone had the golden aura when he died so yeah I guess Morgott did conjure that. Do you know the reason why Morgott chose to conjure Mohg in that place instead of just another Margit clone?
@@Boc_theSeamster good question, maybe he conjured different characters to stop the tarnished with different obstacles, in case they would find Margit easy lol. I know my encounter with the Mohg illusion was a bit hard 😂
@@lahunica2726 Or maybe Morgott doesn't want to associate himself or his reputation with Omens and the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, so he conjures a clone of Mohg to guard the three fingers instead of himself to keep himself from being affiliated with anything to do with Omens. Just a theory.
Definitely a masterpiece despite its flaws. I'd personally give it a 9/10 coz of some things that I somewhat don't agree with/not really like but it's still a masterpiece regardless. The fact that it didn't need day 1 patches, massive repair updates and general overhauls to "fix" launch issues makes it a quality release, unlike a lot of highly anticipated games of late that bombed during their launch days... To be fair, some are good now like Days Gone, Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky because the devs didn't give up on their game's vision and continued to fix them post launch; Despite that, I don't agree with those kinds of business decisions where they release a half baked game... Elden ring wasn't like that.
Elden Ring is my first Souls game, and gave me confidence to at least try out a couple of Soulslikes. My first playthrough was quite long, and I nearly missed Volcano Manor. While it can be tedious due the world's size, I ended up playing the game multiple times for the platinum, the builds, and just leveling my character as high as possible. Loved the fact the game gives you little to no guidance and just lets you explore while placing the onus on the player to keep track of where to go. Also, as odd as it may sound, I also appreciate the game for actually punishing you for mistakes, like walking off a cliff to your death. Anyways, waiting for the DLC like everyone else.
Elden Ring was my first Souls game. I got it a year after it released; I was 17. I knew about it and the preceding Souls games for years, and when I got it I was so, so shit at it; but through pure gruelling work I got good at it and it turned into one of my favourite games ever made. I’ve now gone on to grind through both Dark Souls 1 & Dark Souls 3. They’re honestly some of my absolute, completely worshipped games.
im not gonna lie, i can fully understand the harsh critiques of this game. But after seeing like 20 "ER is not a masterpiece" videos or anything similar to that, its refreshing to see a video again that praises ER that wasnt posted 1 year ago.
Pfft. Most of the critiques of the game are made by braindead Muppets with short attention spans and/or elitist fromsoft fanboys who are salty that their niche went mainstream. Elden ring is the best game from ever made and the most awarded video game of all time.
It’s actually hilarious watching people try to criticize elden ring and desperately search for little flaws to cling to. Even then they always make themselves look like complete jokes. But yeah, this guy’s game reviews are legit.
First of all, I bid the warmest welcome to anyone who started souls with this. I hope you can stand the toxic part of the community, there's much we offer beside that. Now on to my view... This game has managed the impossible, and I respect it immensely and think it's a masterpiece by any standard. Having played the other souls before, I was quick to nitpick many things because of how good the other games were, but when I actually acted like an adult and not a child I came to the realization that this game is an achievement and a cornerstone in gaming history. What I feel is the actual genius of the game, besides the absolutely impeccable lore and yet again masterful management of the cosmic horror genre (the hardest genre to represent successfully in media), and all of the other incredible traits of this game; this game makes you appreciate the other Fromsoft games so much more, feeding into the each other beautifully once you hop back and forth a few times. In particular the closely tight and interconnected world of DS1, and the bosses of DS3 (best bosses of the series and gaming in my opinion) is what cemented this feeling for me, Gael and Undead Parish in particular absolutely resonated with me even deeper than before, and also of course the beaitiful silence of the other games, one of cardinal sins of ER, which has greatly lessened the immersion imho. Still, this game has achieved so much, and the flaws are infinitely outshined by everything this game offers
Love this game. And the run back to Red Wolf or Renala is easier to bear when you realize that renala hates marika and that's why there's no statue of marika to be found anywhere in liurnia.
For me, its sekiro. Really a master piece. A game that change my perspective. I bought ps4 just to play that game. Stuck at ishhin for 6month, then stopped playing . 1year and half after, got motivated, bought ps5 and finally able to finish it. I still remember the scream that i shout that night when i defeat ishhin the last boss. Damn those feelings
This game was a one in a lifetime experience. The flaws in graphics along with reused bosses, does not take away from the fact the story and zones are magical.
It was funny when you said "if you cant beat the tree sentinel, your not beating margit" almost everyone i kbow struggled more with the tree sentinel than they did with margit lol, great video dude
I hiiiighly recommend new players to play a wretch after they get comfortable with the mechanics, being able to build you character from scratch, and then change their build on a whim, and collecting every piece of armor
It absolutely does not matter what your starting build is unless you are capping your level for pvp. Any build can respec into any other build once you are at a certain level. If you are going to stop leveling at 125 or something, then the most efficient thing to do is pick whichever class has the biggest investment into the stats youre going to use.
@@Eternal_Placidity yea to be extremely optimized, you can add all the stat points together and subtract the characters starting rune level from the total. So if a character has 90 points alotted and is level 5, they have 85 free points. Now that you have a standardized way to compare the builds, you can determine whether the points that are wasted in stats you wont need are "free" or not. Say for example you had another character with only 80 free levels. 89 alotted but rune level 9. the one with 85 could waste four points and still have an extra 1 point to use optimally. So it would be better than the 80 despite the 80 not having wasted points. If the 80 has 3 more points in the stat you want, the 85 can waste 1 point and still put 4 in the desired stat before it catches up to the 80s rune level. Its usually more complicated than that, i just used simple examples. But you can figure out to the exact degree each build works better for your plan using this method. Maybe thats not the best explanation but i have a headache lol.
@@asdfghjkllkjhgfdsa8725 not everyone knows exactly the build they want to make at level 130, that’s why I recommend wretch so you can respec much earlier in the game and have a much better build than if you started with another. Plus being forced to use whatever weapons you find encourages using new weapons and learning new play styles. Instead of a new player starting vagabond and using a shield all game. I’m talking about a new player experience, any experienced souls player will pick the class that matches the final build and build that character
@elnidax_5081 it's all good man, there isn't anything wrong with wretch. I just wanted to point out if anyone sees this they don't have to restart the game for any reason. Even if they picked sorcerer and wanted to switch over to a strength build. Yes some points will be wasted but if you aren't capping your level it doesn't matter, it just requires more runes to get what you want.

Something that’s often overlooked in Elden ring is the overall art direction. Nothing is tacky nothing is novelty it’s very tasteful classic and true to dark fantasy. Absolutely masterful
From Software's artists are truly gifted
You took words outta my mouth. This is why I generally dislike many fantasy games, especially the ones that try to mimic Souls series. They often end up too extravagant in their design (DeS remake, Lords of the Fallen, etc.). Souls series often shows restraint in that aspect and masterfully walks a fine line where it does not fall into such excess.

It's Miyazakis vision. He tells his designers that everything should have a sense of grace and elegance, even if it has been corrupted. No stuff that's just gross for the sake of being gross
Walking around in the game alone is worth the price. Its like getting your own interactive piece of art to enjoy
38:50 What I love about Gideon the most is how he's known as the All-Knowing, yet we slowly see how he actually _doesn't_ know everything, so his final confrontation being about how he didn't, and probably still doesn't, understand Marika's plans was a great end to his character.
He probably gave himself that title 🤣
The All-Hearing Brute.

Yeah one of the biggest points people make is reused enemies/bosses. Like there’s over 160 unique enemy types in Elden Ring. I believe more than any other game out there. Some of them being re used isn’t that big of a deal for me.

Most things i enjoyed in elden ring came from their previous titles.

The whole Volcano Manor dungeon into Rykard is pretty fucking peak
So many come together and share their thoughts ❤ I consider this game greater than a masterpiece

personally i actually really like the sewer mogh fight for story reasons. he's presumably an illusion in the same way margit is, projected by the real mogh. note that he's specifically guarding the path to the frenzied flame proscription, and that there's a barrier from morgott blocking that path too. this implies that the frenzied flame is _so bad_ that the omen twins are willing to collaborate to keep it contained despite having diametrically opposed goals and ideals.

I put 200 plus hours on my first playthrough. This game is amazing. I never got bored either. Always finding something new. The music is stellar. The sense of exploration is unmatched. I just started my 2nd playthrough and it's just as mesmerizing as before. My favorite game of all time.
2nd play through is 100% not as mesmerizing as the 1st. Period point blank, and that's not subjective, it's fact.
@@ramrodbldm9876 Game may just not be the best for you in terms of replay-ability. My 2nd playthrough had me hyped the whole time and I got an ending in 27 hours over like 4-5 days
Not NG+ btw just a completely new save
@@ramrodbldm9876that’s literally an opinion lol a fact is something you can prove. Seeing how I was in awe my 2nd and 3rd play through as my first that’s automatically proves you wrong. God people are getting dumber by the day.

Literally the best game ever created
not even close to being that.

The Radahn and Mohg body joke was crazy after the dlc
Now we just need to wait for DLC! its coming soon right! right guys! right? right guys? right guys...
I cant take it anymore
Its here, i’ve completed. And my GOD is it imaginably difficult yet peak.
Armored Core 6 is damn good too honestly. Nowhere near as deep but the combat is outstanding.
The definition of a masterpiece??
Objectively correct. Fromsfoftware games ruined all other games for me in general. Once u experience them and really understand them, it's just what happens. No dev team in history has gone to their level
Agreed.
Fair, although Team Cherry made me belive on complete denial .
How can three guys create such a masterpiece as Hollow Knight?
Fantastic opening to this video. Honestly, I have no choice but to watch now! Keep up the excellent work!
just started playing again idk how fromsoft is going to top this(i do bring back the trick weapons godamn it)
0:00 to 0:20 LMAOL !!! That editing had me rolling on the floor. Walter White & the Dung Eater... GENIUS ! You have a sub my friend.
Good vid, actually watched it all which is rare for me. I will say, if someone says to me 'Elden Ring is the best game ever made' I have no way to argue against this statement. There may be better out there based on subjective preference but Elden Ring is a great game that I initially hated (waaaa too hard etc) but once I got it it send me down the path of finishing it and DS1 and DS3 multiple times to 100%
Okay now we know Radahn and Mohg actually did leave behind something when they die. Access to the DLC.
Margitt, Mohg and Godfrey first boss fights are clones created by Morgott, this is why they leave golden mist behind them when they die.
Also Morgott probably has better knowledge of Leyndell and the three fingers because he rules over the city, on the contrary Mohg left quite a long time ago.
And the run back to Red Wolf or Renala is easier to bear when you realize that renala hates marika and that's why there's no statue of marika to be found anywhere in liurnia.
and then you realise that going through the bolders stairway grants access to a shortcut that makes the runback very short
what a great analysis and some key points i didnt think about !

We really got spoiled with ER the BG3 in back to back years
Prepare to be spoiled again with DD2 coming in literally a few months
I knew this was game of the year by how hooked this shit had me. And now I’m back absolutely favorite game for sure. Only fromsoft game I’ve played
The reused the boss monster over and over. It's not a fucking Masterpiece!
lol some ppl still believe in Santa Claus
So what? The reused bosses are still fun to fight and are only reused like 2-4 times maximum. ur just over exaggerating
@@asdfghjkllkjhgfdsa8725And also the lowest numbers in the stats you don’t plan on using, I learned the hard way how important that is too.
Just started playing this, couldn't agree more, my god this is perfect adventure game ever, with minimal guidance, it's all you exploring 🔥
I have played my share of games, but I don't find Elden Ring a "masterpiece". It isn't.
Move from the first zone ffs… its been two years already…
@@pxelcss I am sorry, what are you talking about - "first zone"?
You dont have to be sorry, just make some progression in-game.
@@pxelcss I have been in The Lands Between since October last year, and I am making progress. But that still does not make "Elden Ring" a masterpiece.
So you're just going to go against the majority opinion, but not give reasons as to why it isn't a masterpiece?
Dude, Miyazaki said that you have to beat Mohg and Radhan to do the dlc. They are also the only demigods who don’t leave behind something when you are done the fight. Coincidence? Probably, but I need more Radahn
