1:52 That's intentionally done too. Palpatine specifically wanted Vader's suit to be as painful and uncomfortable as possible in order for him to exist in a state of constant torment and hatred, thus fueling his power in the dark side. It's also why Vader never upgraded his suit later to be more comfortable because he had come to rely on that pain and uncomfortability to maintain his power.

Honestly I've waited years for Darth Vader to be portrayed as scary as he's supposed to be. We hear a lot about how ruthless he is, but he came off less so in the original trilogy. It's only when Anakin has turned in Revenge of the Sith and kills the younglings that we truly see Darth Vader's cruelty and evil. Here in this episode, the fact that Darth has waited all these years to meet with Obi-Wan again only to just torment him and torture him physically and emotionally totally fits with Anakin's rage, pettiness, and flair for the dramatics.

    • @denisemontes2564

The real reason for Threepio's silver leg is that on the first filming day Anthony Daniels made his way to set and first step he took that leg shattered, the plastic cutting into his foot. The quick replacement was silver, as they didn't have the chance to spray it gold. Also explains Threepio's slight limp, due to the damage caused to Anthony Daniels' foot.

I am loving this so far, this is really what I have been wanting to see this episode, I can't wait to see more of Anakin, I hope we see flashbacks of Clone Wars and other stuff.

They dragged Obi Wan 11 feet away from the fire, and Vader (with the ENTIRE EMPIRE at his disposal) gave up all hope of finding him again. Jesus Christ how lame.

I'll have to rewatch ep4 but I think Kenobi closes his eyes prior to giving himself up to the force. Gives this reference of closing your eyes to find the way more significance.

When I watched the episode a thought came to me about how Ezra and Kannen become better at lightsaber duals is because they had each other to practice and why the inquisitors were so much better at sabre combat is because they actively used their blades and the Jedi did not use them in hiding, making them easier to hunt and kill

Obi-wan saying "you were like my brother Anakin!" in revenge of the sith and then saying he knew he had a brother when he was young that he doesn't remember is all the more pain and hurt he must be going through because he had the brother he never had through Anakin. Such emotion

Obi Wan's struggle to reconnect with the force and his reliance on "uncivilized" technology reminds me of Kyle Katarn.

Retcon? What retcon? The Great Inquisitor in Kenobi and the GI in Rebels are clearly two different people.

Those screams from Ewan during the burning scene were so haunting, it brought me right back to when I was 7-9 watching revenge of the Sith with my dad and saw anakin burn too

This series is yet another slap in the face to the OT. “When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master.” Disney Star Wars is a disgrace.

Vader scene was boooooom looking for this awesome. The fight… not the best, but also makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is how slowly obiwan burns

I loved the episode the only tiny detail that was missing for me was no imperial march theme or even a subtle hint of it. Does anyone have an idea as to why that might be?

I hope they make a Vader spinoff Series leading up to this. That would be so good!!!

Does anyone else think that when Obi-wan and Vader are clashing Saber's, Obi-wan was meant to look like Luke? It's probably just the hair but I think this mirrors Luke dueling Vader in the future.

Do you think Vader and Obi Wan have something like that Force Dyad thing from Rise of Skywalker?

What kind of half ass fight was that honestly?? Obiwan vs Vader has the same energy as Rey vs Ken on that death star

I just wanna point out when Vader is standing over Kenobi and swings his saber down at him repeatedly, it mirrors Luke doing the same to Vader in Return of the Jedi after Luke gains the upper hand.

I think this is the scariest I’ve ever seen Vader in any Star Wars content like in the movies and in the shows and in the games like fallen order

    • @binkssake7282

Fallen Order was scarier than this because YOU were the one playing the character run from Vader rather than seeing a character played by another actor run from Vader.

16:05 was my favorite part of that episode. The way EW says “the way” was amazing. I thought of Taoism there.
