    1. It's a game, stay composed.
    2. Work on your jab.
    3. Slow everything down, work on correct technique.
    4. Spar all levels. Don't shy away from sparring.
    5. Have a plan and objectives for training.
    6. Keep your mouth shut when punching. Exhale through the nose preferably.

I always felt it was more like a violent game of poker than chess.

Poker is much more about bluffing and luck than actual skill.

can you explain? seems like an interesting point:)

@@glitchboxing well, poker has bluffs and tells. Boxing has feints and telegraphing. Poker has hands and combinations, boxing has ... err... hands/punches and combos. Poker has luck. Boxing has a puncher's chance of winning. Chess has an even board of symmetrical black n white pieces but it's not so clean cut in boxing. Chess has no bluffing, feinting, or luck. That's why I always felt that boxing wasn't really comparable to chess.

As much as I see the first comment's point, after studying chess and such things, I've come to agree that two of some of it's most important features (closed-system, perfect information: The rules and space allotted don't change, and there's no randomness on the board, and even in 960 once the game starts) make it different from the vast majority of situations one can analyze.
You'll even hear higher level players talk about how much pattern-recognition is important. And it became such a big part of it that the greatest chess player (Bobby Fischer, at the time) invented 960 _specifically _*_because_* he felt people were simply memorizing openings and positions (because the absolute madlads at high enough level's can memorize, or _effectively_ memorize *_millions_* of optimal moves given common positions) too often.

What's your take on body sparring aggressive beginners? I'm basically a noob myself, but last time I did it felt like a slightly painful waste of time 😅.

@@glitchboxing It was a couple, but the guy was taller than me and just tryna weigh me in like I was a heavy bag 😅 I did a good job of blocking most punches, but was too tired at the time to register that nothing was learned from it on either side.

I started boxing 3 weeks ago, i did already 2 sparring sesions, iam just getting beating up, las time a guy nearly knock me out. Iam 37y/o and iam thinking to dont come back. Not point for me fighting giving 100% in the sparring, is just stupid. Iam not coming back.

Gotta say, dude... I'm sorry. 🫤
You and other fighting/fitness or even just generally informative (in drawing, carving, building, etc) make inviting shorts that occasionally get >1 mil views, tell people to click links for more in the comment section or in a reply, and it just... goes right past. 🤷🏾‍♂️
I'm not even immune to it myself. I only clicked on your channel after *_months_* of seeing your stuff. It's just... a shame.
Great vids, btw. Looking forward to more. 💪🏾
