The Drinker Recommends... Sound of Freedom

- Sound of Freedom, starring Jim Caviezel, is the low budget movie that somehow managed to knock Indiana Jones off the top spot. Its also a harrowing and compelling true story about a man's mission to combat child trafficking, and its excellent.

Apparently we’ve reached the point in our society where a movie about protecting and saving children from s$x trafficking is a “controversy”

@@DreamyAileen It's amazing how throughout the whole movie there's like a single death and nobody gets shot.
I was a victim of child exploitation and SA. The first two minutes I was sobbing. I'm so glad my husband was there with me. The end note when he said "the real heroes are the children this story is about" reminded me of the way the officer looked me in the eyes that rescued me. He said, "You're a hero. He won't hurt you or your brother anymore. You're so brave for telling". This film gave me hope and I love that despite the children having their innocence taken, they were still worth saving. Giving survivors a voice was the most powerful thing I've seen in cinema. I hugged my children extra hard tonight.

I think an independent film renaissance is exactly what the public needs at the moment. It’s a good way to detoxify ourselves from all the mindless, big-budget dumpster fires we’ve been relentlessly subjected to.
So true!!!!!
Except this wasn't an 'Independent Film'?
100% agree!
Where I live, theaters have started doing re-runs of decades old movies because the new movies suck so much. Including things like the original Lethal Weapon and Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress.
Sign me up for that.
Says A LOT about Hollywood and media when they are against an anti child trafficking movie.
Ritual child sacrifice is apart of the jewi....uh I mean Hollywood's religion
You know the movie was a movie, right? So .... Hollywood???? This is how the media tricks you into siding with them. Both liberals and conservatives are puppets of the same hand. You think you're exposing stuff and "fighting the good fight" because you paid the producers of this movie for a ticket to watch it. Come on. Just think about it. I'm not against you. I'm just exposing Hollywood for real.
Epstein...didn't occur in a vacuum.
They're against the film pedalling QAnon conspiracy theories. Drinker quite literally does that in this video by suggesting mainstream media are controlled by deviants. You cannot be this brainwashed. You can't.
Hmmm maybe everything is controlled by evil child molesters
The two main child actors deserve awards. The kid who plays Miguel especially, he conveys so much depth just with his eyes and expressions. This whole movie is a masterpiece, and I pray it wakes enough people up to the horror of what’s happening that we elect leaders who’ll try to stop this Evil instead of facilitating it.
Make America great again
Yep, Cristal and Lucas were very talented.
As of right now Tim has over 7000+ rescues and 5000+ arrest, this man is a real life superhero and I hope he continues his work and wish him, his team and family the best. I've seen him in a couple podcast and interview and I recommend a watch if you already haven't
So the controversy is that the man in the movie is a real person that pretty much "rescues" children for fame and money.
One operation, he asked for so many children that some were kidnapped just for his sting op by the perps... and local police lost track of the children after because they're understaffed and underfunded. Not so much of a peep from the guy about that.

My husband and I took our teenage son. Cried like a baby. Couldn't stop thinking about it all day after watching it. We were so moved, my son went to the O.U.R website to see about creating an anti-trafficking club at his High School. We've gotta make some noise about this!!
God bless your family and your son for his courage.
God bless you and your family.
And that is the reason they made this movie! To put us in to action to destroy this evil and filth from society. It’s wonderful that your son is doing this!
Doing something about a pressing issue aside from complaining on Twitter or looting a Target? Love to hear it.
How about do what EVERY HUMAN can in this world, VOTE FOR THE RIGHT PEOPLE and ATTACK the ones who let us DOWN! G'Day from western australia
to all the people who say:

So sad that kids...babies...are being tortured every damn day by these monsters. Everyone needs to see this movie and be aware of what's been going on.
The same people who want you to worry about misgendering, micro aggressions, and cultural appropriation also think it's super important that you don't overreact to child sx trafficking
Those people let you watch a film a out saving brown children abroad and not think about the horrors inflicted on white children at home. Enjoy the movie, you're a true rebel 👍
Hmm. I wonder why
Well said.
lmao
Don't forget about "drag queen story hours"
Fun Fact about Caviezel: Hollyweirdos outright HATE this guy, no Hollywood producer nowadays would even think about casting him...which, ironically, results in almost all of his works being really good movies.
‘Hollywierdos’ lmao, anything but addressing who they are😂
Absolutely, going all the way back to the passion of Christ they told him that role would tank his career in Hollywood, and he didn't care. Not that he needs or wants to be "pals" and in the "good graces" of Hollyweird.
He's one of the most based guys in the industry, he deserves so much respect. Always love hearing him talk about what he went through during Passion of the Christ and how it really shaped his faith.

I just finished watching it. Thank you drinker for bringing it to my attention
Count of Monte Cristo is on of my all time favorite movies. Didn't realize it was the same actor in this movie, thanks for pointing it out.
Just saw it yesterday. It's a very powerful and emotional movie. They all did a great job of exposing this sick and disgusting crime. As a Police Officer of 30 years, I have been well aware of this problem for decades. But, because it involves the highest levels of every company and industry, it is never covered in the media. Now it's time. We cannot wait a second longer. Each child needs to be rescued and all the perpetrators need to be apprehended and prosecuted. God Bless all those children.
“All the perpetrators need to be apprehended and prosecuted”
And castrated… *& shot*
Amen
Prosecuted or given large doses of lead delivered at high velocity. Either or.
yes!!
Exactly. It's time to rescue all the enslaved and prosecute their abusers.
I was never trafficked. But I was a victim of SA by an adult, as a kid. I think this is the most important film of our time. It tells a dark tale, through the lens of hope. It’s never graphic, like Drinker said. Think Hitchcock. But if I can watch to it’s amazing conclusion, I think most people can.
I survived SA as well and it pains me to know film makers try to show it in the most graphic way possible simply to get a naked shot of the youngest person possible.
I'm glad to see this film is different.
Happened to me too.
I’m sorry that happened to you.
@@marissashantez6051 I’m sorry you went through that.

Not gonna lie, the only reason I want to watch Sound of Freedom because of Jim Caviezel but it made watch it more thanks to the things that are happening.
It was a solid movie. I had an altercation with a sex trafficker by chance one time ( He was Jamaican, not Latino and I don't think it was children) so I totally understood when he confronted that Lawyer about that child and how that lawyer got irritate....The same thing happened to me in 2013. I was working security at a club and this guy was getting agitated with my boss and the bouncer working the door when they wouldn't let him in. Since he was bigger than they were , he was trying to intimidate them! However, when I walked up and stood behind my boss and looked him eye to eye, the dude went from agitated to irritate. If it hadn't been for the supervisor, I would have probably put him and handcuffs and CT'ed him right there.... however, the guy kept escalating and the supervisor asked me to get his friends. By the time I got back , the guy walked somewhere out in the parking lot. Actually I followed him around the building as he was casing the place on how he could get into the club. I was close enough that if I wanted to, I could have probably broke his neck a couple of times and he would have never even have known what happened. He comes back to the front, still unaware I was behind him to try and bully my supervisor and the bouncer again. When he realized I was right behind him, he tried to get into my face again. Once again, my supervisor sent me to get the group he came with in the club. We told them they had to get him off the property so , they left and we assumed that would be it ... I decided to go on the patio and talk to the bartender outside about the whole affair..... Suddenly I hear someone climbing over the chain link and it was this mudder fugger. I absolutely lost it! His ass was grass and I was the lawnmower. I whooped his @$$ , put him in cuffs and dragged him crying and pissing his self up to the front, I called Waco PD reported my name and the incident....the officer that showed up just so happened to be my squad leader in the National Guard. After they had ran his background, he was the one that told me he was a sex trafficker. These people really are garbage humans.
Thanks, Drinker, for having the balls to review this in an honest and heartfelt way.
Honest? Its filled with clichés and tropes and you´re not allowed to criticize the film apparently...
@@sungod86It's very clear that you aren't that familiar with The Critical Drinker's youtube channel.
Since you think the movie should receive some criticism, what exactly is the problem with this film?

@@sungod86 No one said you're not allowed to criticise the movie, it's just that calling it a movie for conspiracy theorists is just dumb to the point of psychosis.
The reason Jim Caviezel hasn't "broken out" is 100% because he's openly Christian and advertises his faith. He's a good actor who has made good role choices. He got blackballed because they assumed his politics go against the narrative.
It's part of being a Christian. We worship a God who died a brutal execution, and said His believers would be hated, too.
@@RanMouri82 oh come on, don't play the victim.

I don't think the problem is his being Christian at all. The problem is his adherence to all sorts of conspiracy nonsense and QAnon bullsh*t, like that "adrenochrome" idiocy. He does a movie denouncing the reality of child trafficking, but then he ruins everything by spewing this kind of cr*p. No wonder his career suffers...

Even if there was a grain of truth to what some people and the media are saying about this movie, the way they all reacted in unison against it and the main message of the story was disturbing and disgusting. They tried to make everyone look crazy while they were acting crazy obvious 😂
Drinker, you were right. This movie was phenomenal. And I think made its money back despite being a Schindler's Lost type movie that I wouldn't rewatch. Good call, mate.
It says so much about Disney that they didn’t want to release this film

This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’

I was in LE and worked at the FBI, people have no idea how huge a problem child sex trafficking is and it certainly is very suspicious how the media refuse to talk about it and attack anyone that does. This movie is excellent and Jim Caviezel as always is great, this reminds me a bit of his role in the popular TV show from a few years ago "Person of Interest" which had a plot that the current Mission Impossible has borrowed.
Like the FBI aren't the traffickers in chief....
Perhaps you'd like to tell us about Jan 6th then, and why the FBI is acting like a bunch of brownshirts? Furthermore, and in keeping with the context of the movie, would you like to address the connection a certain man and his island had to the FBI?
@@FilmGuy7000perhaps you’d like to shut the hell up and quit talking out your ass. His opening says “…WAS in law enforcement”.
We KNOW why the feds were involved in the nonsense J6 hoax.
If you were really in LE and at the FBI, then you should also know that there's a reason to look askance at grifters who use righteous causes like child trafficking to make a name and some money for themselves without really doing much about the actual problem. Movie highlighting the problem of child trafficking? Great! Movie lionizing Tim Ballard? Less great.
*I hope Critical Drinker will watch/review **_Person of Interest_** one day.*
Such an underrated series.
We saw it Thursday 7/13/23 here in California in a packed theater at the 7:30pm showing. Outstanding and powerful film.
And - for what it’s worth - the theater next door has a grand total of four (!) people at the 8:30pm showing of Dial of Destiny.
I do think people are starting to figure out that mindlessly attacking this film is not a good look. "Don't watch it, the Q'Anon is gonna brainwash ya!"
Caviezel seems to be one of the last Hollywood actors genuinely unafraid to take on REALLY touchy subjects
That's why he's blacklisted.
Yeah, can’t wait for him to take on the Catholic Church for its decades of covering up sexual abuse by priests.

Don’t forget about Kevin Sorbo. Really great guy and actor 🤙🏻
If the Regime Media doesn’t want us to watch it, it’s definitely a good movie.

Passed the $100 Million last thursday (after just three weeks in theaters, no less), making it the most successful independent film of 2023 by a country mile. 👍
I'm trying to find a similar movie but fictionalized, where the guy goes on a rampage to rescue his son (or his daughter, I don't remember), it's not one of the Liam Neeson's films, the protagonist is another actor, by any chance do you know what movie is it?
Saw the movie today. Genuinely one of the saddest, heart-wrenching movies I've ever seen. Anyone claiming this is a bad movie for any absurd reason, such as promoting child porn, is a fool and an idiot. It was so hard to watch a lot of the scenes because of how brutal and evil these people are.
Many of the people screaming about this film are not fools or idiots. They're just evil and the fact that this movie exposes people like them terrifies them.
Apparently, it showed on half the screens of Dial of Destiny and made double the money per screen despite nonexistent mainstream promotion or advertising. Speaks volumes.
It is in far fewer theaters, and still has not even been released outside the USA yet, I think it has time on it's side. I believe they have already recovered the cost to make the movie or close to it.

Thank you, Drinker! I’ve been honored to have a small part in helping to promote/distribute this film over the last 4+ Years and the battle we’ve had to fight to get this released, so it means so much that you would use your massive platform to highlight how good of a film it is especially due to the importance of highlighting this grave topic of child/sex trafficking
Also, the reason it’s been classified as an “action film” is so the powers that be can have another reason to ignore it come award season, not that the creators of the film want/need any awards, but it would help further spotlight the important work Operation Underground Railroad does. But that’s exactly why the woke and evil Hollywood & Main Stream Media won’t give it any attention
