This is so relatable. We all felt that way at first when we start high school until eventually we realized and think, "it's not so bad ". We've all been through it. I know I did and after four years, I graduated as a cumlaude.
Love Marcia's little tantrums!! Always a delight LOL! Have you posted the scene when Peter's volcano goes berserk and hoses Marcia's stuck up friends with mud❓
1:37 Typical teen angst outburst, I love it. High drama in the afternoon. I wonder if Erica Kane went through this phase in Pine Valley when she was a teenager. :D
The problem was that because of how the district zoning was set up, the Bradys had to go to a different high school than the people she'd known in junior high so none of her friends from junior high went to Westdale and everyone was a stranger. She had to start from scratch to make new friends. That's hard. I remember our elementary school was only one of many elementary schools in our district that flowed into the one junior high and high school so when I went into 7th grade there were only a few familiar faces and many new ones. That was almost as hard as what Marcia faced. No wonder she was nervous.
I loved that our little elementary school joined three others at the one junior high and high school. It gave me a chance to break free from the clique of mean girls I had to be friends with there! The first day of junior high I knew no one in my section- but I made fast friends with four other girls and two brothers. When lunch came I explained to my new friends how I was mistreated and they stood up for me. When my old friends asked me why I wasn’t sitting with them I literally told them to f-off!! It was great! I never did speak to them again! They soon fizzled out as the popular group as I wasn’t alone in being disenchanted with them. Junior high was a blast and I’m happy to say I am still in touch with those friends, who I see regularly, 45 years later! 😂
I've been a private tutor for 30 years. About 15 years ago I had a female student who confided to me that she was also terrified about going to high school. It had nothing to do with popularity. It was the same issues you had: Fear of getting lost. Fear of not being able to find her classrooms, the gym, the cafeteria, the library, her locker, etc. Her fears vanished after the first day.
This is so very sad😞. Be kind~ Greg~ be an older brother, be patient, and show your younger sister ‘the way!!’ Why can’t Greg understand how he felt on HIS first day of High school~ and have some insight and compassion into Marcia’s SCARY freshman high school 🏫 EXPERIENCE!?!? Omg😳!!! 1:45
Greg had it harder than her. He is the oldest child and didn't have anyone to help him and he did fine. Marcia had help and she didn't listen. Greg told her to be herself and be cool. She acted like a fool...Greg reacted the right way. He was frustrated
@@wildmike951I I guess so. That’s not a very manly way to behave towards a woman though ( even if she is your sister). She is a woman. Greg should have been more protective towards Marcia. Women are physically smaller than men, and they DO need protection in new or unsure environments and circumstance. I feel as though Greg thought that since HE was okay on his first day of high school alone, Marcia would be also. She was terrified though, and that’s why she felt like she had to put on a false front or facade. Greg basically left her to her own devices/ defenses out of embarrassment. That’s not the way a male figure or a protective older brother should behave towards his younger sister or any woman at all, though. Anyways, Happy Wednesday~ and enjoy this beautiful springtime weather, Mike🦋🎸🎶🤘🎁✅🌺♥️☮️💞☯️♾️
Marcia just can't accept being humbled. But somehow I think that she expects Jan to accept it every time that it happens to her. You can't have it both ways, Marcia.
Suspend your disbelief for a sec and also keep in mind that anyone can be insecure--- especially when a new era of school begins and you're starting over. She only needs to be herself but she doesn't get that yet. So we have this silly episode where she puts on airs and then joins every club possible (oh, and Peter creates a little volcano that magically vomits 70 gallons of glop into the air, LOL)
@@eduardo_corrochio ...Oh, so THIS is the 'Lava' Episode!!! ....I'm so loving that these YT posts are showing how IMPORTANT Peter was, to some plotlines!
@@RBS_ Yes, the lava one! However, the episode never shows Peter loading the science project with all that muddy goop, haha. Honestly, it didn't "click" with me, the physical impossibility of that volcano scene, until I was a grownup. Today when I watch that scene I say "Where's it all coming from?!?" 😆 Too funny. But without tons of slime we would not have the haughty _Boosters Club_ girls sprayed into humiliation. And Alice, too, in the tag scene from that episode (episode title is "Today I am a Freshman", episode 4 of season 4).
(sarcasm to follow) Yes, I'm so sure that's what any girl wants to know, that she is not being listened to. All that matters is her body and being pretty. (smh at this stone-age nonsense)

Speak for yourself Marcia, high school was awesome. I love her outfit too, and you kind of brought that on yourself acting like you swallowed a dictionary, I would make fun of you too. And the blonde friend of Greg is very very cute.
I think I remember watching this episode and that's when my dread of high school started. If Marcia was awkward and lacked self confidence, what chance would I have??😰😅
Let's put it this way: Because Greg and Marcia aren't blood relatives, I'm guessing they'd likely be permitted to marry in a great many places.@@ellietaylor7618

In hs I enjoyed meeting and making new friends , with the guys we used to play against in jr. High football against.....and their cheerleaders 👍😁
Being a freshman in high school was the most difficult three years of my life.
I was terrified of going into high school. A new place I needed a tour guide for. I never got one. I was late for many classes my first few days.

I’m SURE that if Marcia allowed a few of the boys to take her behind the locker room she’d be extremely popular in no time.
Why are Greg’s two 25 year old friends still in high school?
Women were so much better looking back then. Slender , feminine, and no tattoos
No nose or face piercings either
