I adore Marcia's sweet dress, white tights and Mary-Janes... So classic. Maureen McCormick became a beauty but it was especially in this early season that she wore her sweet heart on her sleeve and captured audiences with her smile and tears ❤She had a natural maturity most young actresses would not be able to pull off. Most of the Brady Kids wore braces in real life during the show but even though Marcia was the first, hers were fake and never appeared after this episode 🙂
This episode first aired in February 1970. Maureen McCormick was born in August 1956, so she was about 13-1/2 in this clip. She could easily pass for 12 here, perhaps even younger.
I loved this episode. However, it would be weird picking up my date at her house while her parents, siblings and housekeeper watched every move we made as we left. It would be a good "weird," but weird nonetheless.
I agree the kid deserved an apology. I mean he has braces and he’s not gonna be at the dance. I have to go with my family. I can’t stay alone. I’m only nine years old. She was definitely wrong and not believing him.
It must have been nice. I was never allowed to date or have friends or have a life outside of school. I never got the chance to go to a school dance or any other social activity as a teenager
Marcia is their business in The Godfather the company of family and relatives walked behind Michael Corleone and Apollonia on their first date to make sure he don't pull a fast one
Go on about their business? There's no Internet. No shows to binge. No music streaming services. No video games to play. Nothing else to do but spend time with each other.
For somebody who fell on his face from his bicycle, Craig, according to the closing credits, actually Alan, looked totally uninjured otherwise. If he had knocked all his teeth in flying off his bike, the rest of his face would be slot more messed up.
I’m 65 and I gotta tell you you’re wrong. It’s not cheesy. That’s how it was then families were together. They ate together they laugh together. They cried together. Remember, there was no 100 channels on the tube no Wi-Fi no cell phones.!😎
There are more scenes of people being romantic in the living room while all the kids look down from the top of the staiecase on the second floor; giggling; on this show.
@@gregorymoore2877 or put more accurately, maybe SHE'S more comfortable with him, now they're sort of dealing with the same temporary handicap (braces)
He needed to have braces because she had braces. Would have been better if her date had been Buddy Hinton and he had braces because Peter punched him and knocked his tooth out for teasing Cindy. That would have made an interesting conflict of interest.
You are incorrect. I know this first hand: Yes they do use them too keep teeth intact- and strengthen them. In 1973 my friend was hit by a car at twelve years old in front of her house, thank GOd not going that fast on a small side street that she and her family lived on in our hometown, and she had to wear braces for eight years to strengthen her roots.it was so odd to see her braces come off- I always remember them on. Yes, they DO use braces to keep them intact and strengthen teeth. ALso implants were not invented until the early 90's-I knwo I have one. At this time in 1969, even root canals were done differently: they were done by slitting hte gum and operating/cleaning out the roots that way; it wans't until years later, maybe the late 70's that root canals were done actually through the root. I know this because my brother at thirteen had hte root canal the orignal way thery were done: through the slit in the side of hte gum back in 1968; this episoded was 1969. I liked the way marcias hair was fixed
What about that big 19th century hair ribbon?
@@TnseWlms Oh yeah! I think that's my favorite part of the outfit ❤
Now a days females wear real high heels
I love the Brady Bunch.. I use to watch it growing up... What a great show, so darn cute...🥰🥰🥰.....
So cute…the kids peeking over the bannister
Marcia was so adorabley cute back in the 1st.season.
And people are forgetting she's sort of the moody unhinged one in a couple episodes ...more so than Jan
I wish they get this boy as a steady live interest for Marcia. It woukd have been cool to see them date throughout high school
No drama in that 🤣
Cute sitcom i watched , as a kid, their age..
Wow I was like 9 years old back then and I never used the word groovy. But I did say neato.😁
It wasn't said as much but it was said. I never said it. Most people said I dig it!
She looks so cute❤
That Alan kid was the same one in the American pie movies
I remember being dressed like Marcia for school pictures 😩the 70s😭
The stag line may be forming again

I'm sure it made more sense when Alan saw the TV cameras ... I like to think of "The Brady Bunch" more as an unintentional reality show ...

I thought the same thing. It was cheesy

Alan is taking Marcia to the dance 🩰
After falling off his bike(and nearly "knocking all his teeth out" ), he had braces "until the roots got strong."
I think in the 70s kids would think marchia is thair crush

Ah..the casual sexism of the 70s
Now girls Marcia's age wear ripped jeans and mismatched socks.
Things have changed 😂
Terrible
A far cry from the bradys innocent wholesome era of tv families child stars
And pajama pants
Thank you!
4 of the Brady kids ended up having to wear braces
Which ones?

Even as a 7 year old Marcia got EVERYTHING she wanted. No wonder why Jan was always jealous of her

LOL. They really didn't want to, but they knew that Marcia was a bipolar narcissist.

*Marcia
She was twelve. I think mistakenly many places you read about it say she was thirteen but I think she was twelve.
If he just flew over the handlebars of his and almost knocked his teeth out how come his face doesn’t look all bruised and swollen?
Boys will say anything to get to 3rd base with the town sleaze
