That was fun. I went ahead and ordered yet another tool, Yo-Yo maker in 5 sizes. I finally got a sewing room about 7 years ago. I had kept all the tools and gadgets in a box in the closet. Now my sewing room is starting to overflow, and it's my favorite room in the house.
I used to work in a dementia unit and one of the residents would make these....her daughter would cut them out and she would do the stitching. They turned out perfect every time. In the end, they were put into a quilt for each of her grandchildren❤ I enjoyed this video thoroughly 😊
The tomatoes are so cute but Dawn is even cuter!!! Is everyone that works at AIS so enthusiastic and cheerful????????? And loved seeing Peter make something new!
Oh , I thought this would be ridiculously hard for my clumsy fingers! It looks so fun. I must make about a basket full. Dawn and Peter, you never disappoint!
Oh you have got to make a pincushion. I have only made two this being my second. There is nothing more rewarding using pins from the pin cushion that you made.
I love hearing the history of the tomato pin cushions. I also like that you had Peter there trying it and making it with you. I think its great seeing someone make it, that hasn't done it before. I was cross stitching while I was watching it, and I am making ugly knots every time I start a new thread. 😊 When I know that it is going to be stuffed, I don't worry about having knots. I am making a drum with a pattern from Notforgotten Farm.
@@alwaysinstitches5388 thanks Peter. I decided not to make it into a drum, but I am going to frame it instead, so now I have to put some warm and natural behind it, so the knots don't show through.
I love history and I did not know that about the tomato or that the needles could be sharpened. Thank you for sharing and for the entertainment. Nice to meet you both. A UA-camr gave me a channel to watch and then you popped up. I have a tart tin I mY convert to a pin cushion. Have a wonderful day!
Dawn is such a fun teacher! I love watching and listening to her, even though I don't partake in the making. Peter, you're a great student! I'm pretty sure you guys answered my question I posted on IG about if I wanted to use the crushed walnut shells to put in my cross stitch finishes. I don't want the oils to leach out into the fibers of my pieces, even if they're not going to be handed down to anyone when I'm gone. I'll just avoid that mess. 🍅
Wendy, I am enjoying watching and listening to your flosstube. I am so happy you are doing them. I have been reading your comments on our videos for several years. I always enjoy reading your thoughtful comments. Dawn asked me if I wanted to make a pincushion in her video. I thought it would be fun to make on on camera. I saw how fast Dawn was stitching so I knew I had to pick up the pace. Dawn is so good at teaching. On a side note, I am going to need to have you start cutting out shapes for Birdie's year lol. Wool is so fabulous to work with and I think you will really enjoy the process.
@@alwaysinstitches5388 Just think that was your first pincushion. The next will be faster if you make another. I saw your marching orders here earlier 😆 and I hopped to it - I have traced, cut out my pattern, and after I return home I will iron my fusible on and cut out my wool. Perhaps if I had more people giving me orders/demands/commands regarding my crafts, I would get more done. 😄😄 And I love watching and listening to you all! I would have to do a weekly mandatory shopping trip to the store if I lived nearby!
Wow. You and Peter done a super job. It looks like sooo much fun. Enjoyed the pictures afterwards. You are so very talented guys. I learned a lot about tomatoes.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! Glad that your enjoyed watching! Btw I resumed stitching the Primrose Cottage Snowman 2023. I have a new start. The Sampler Bag. It is so much fun to stitch on the vinyl bags.
Thank you for showing us how to make these fabulous tomatoes and the history lesson. My mom has a very very old tomato with a strawberry hanging from it, now I want to see what is in her strawberry.
I love it. I would never stuff anything with walnut shells or the lizard litter. I have too many friends with nuts allergies. I know I am allergic to nut dust. I always use emery. I just learned of another thing that might work as I was researching on how to make fabric weights. They suggested extra fine aquarium gravel. This was a WONDERFUL tutorial 🤗‼️
So cute. I'm into making pincushions and will be making some of these for my collection . Please move your scrap pail. I can't see what Dawn is doing, only Peter. T hank you for sharing this tutorial.
Love your demonstrations! Your tomato pin cushions look fabulous. I use one bought from a store. I would like to use one I made. Thanks for the instructions.
I have never made a yo-yo, but this looks fun. I see a tomato pin cushion in my future. Do you have a template for the green top? I just found your channel on UA-cam and subscribed. You and Peter are too cute!

That is a beautiful story!
The tomatoes are so cute but Dawn is even cuter!!! Is everyone that works at AIS so enthusiastic and cheerful????????? And loved seeing Peter make something new!
Dawn is the cutest! I don't think we have any sticks in the mud. Everyone loves working here. I enjoyed making something new too.
My new favorite team! You are both lovely and entertaining and educational, all at the same time. I feel so happy watching you. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the tomato pin cushion story!😊
Oh , I thought this would be ridiculously hard for my clumsy fingers! It looks so fun. I must make about a basket full. Dawn and Peter, you never disappoint!
Thank you!
Fun! I’ve made a yo-yo throw and a window balance and a very long table topper. Now to sew tomatoes! I’m excited for an easy project!
So cute!!!! Never thought I would want to make a pincushion, but now I am considering the possibility. Great job, Dawn and Peter. ❤

Great job!!!! Don’t stay away too long Dawn. You and Peter work nicely together. Thank you. A great team. Love you
Thank you! Will do!

Thank you, Peter and Dawn Cornell for such a fun video. I am so glad I got to attend your class at AIS.
I saw you in Dawn's class. I am so happy you got to come to the store and stitch with Dawn.
So much fun! I love this project and the story about tomatoes. The jar of tomatoes is adorable. Love this video. ❤😊
Love you guys together always good for a laugh, and the amount of knowledge is great.
Seeing her jar makes me want to make a jar of my own too.
Thank you!
Very cute project. I have made seven yoyo quilts in my life time. That's what I used to do with all my fabric scraps.
That is so cool. The Yo-yo quits are very special because you don't see very many.

I may have missed it, but did you have a stabiluzer on the back of your red fabric? Great project. Thank you for sharing.
Just the fabric!
So cute. I'm into making pincushions and will be making some of these for my collection . Please move your scrap pail. I can't see what Dawn is doing, only Peter. T hank you for sharing this tutorial.
Thank you!
I have quite a few yo-yo makers by Clover.
I am starting to get ideas to use them!
Loved it. Does anyone remember yo-yo dolls?
Yes, Dawn has one!
Love your demonstrations! Your tomato pin cushions look fabulous. I use one bought from a store. I would like to use one I made. Thanks for the instructions.
Your welcome!
What a fun project! Would you show us how you made the yo-yo name tag necklace you're wearing in one of the photos?
Thank you! I let Dawn know.
Awesome!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I have made several pin cushions. Now I will have to make another one......
They are fun to have!
I have never made a yo-yo, but this looks fun. I see a tomato pin cushion in my future. Do you have a template for the green top? I just found your channel on UA-cam and subscribed. You and Peter are too cute!
Welcome to our channel. We are so happy to have you here. The pincushion is such a joy to make. We don't have a template for the green top.
Hey y’all! Can you show us how you made the green top of the tomato please?
Can you tell me where you found the adorable stand that your tomatoes are hanging from ?! Must have! Great tutorial!
I don't know where she got that! Dawn loves to find things at antique stores!
Loved your video. Could you post template for the green felt flower or share where to get one.
Dawn got a dye cut from Amazon!
Ok this is my first time watching you.OMG you two are just down right awesome….joined your channel can’t wait to watch more
Thank you! We are so happy to have you join our channel!
A couple of green felt leaves would be nice under a green or red button.
Absolutely!
What is the name of the lamp/magnifier that you use for cross stitch?
Was nice project but could you next time move the black bowl out of the way so we can see what your showing?
Been trying to find a heart yo yo but can't find one. Do you sell them?
Yes, here is the link to purchase www.alwaysinstitches1.com/shop/c/p/Clover-Quick-Yo-Yo-Maker-Large-Heart-Shaped-x79837988.htm
Will you sell this yo yo project as a kit?
We hadn't intended on it being a kit, but we are working to make it happen!
First time watching you, did enjoy it OK I wish you would move that black bucket to much talking in the back ground and other noises
