    Capi, thanks for your show and tell of all your pin cushion gifts. What a great idea, I am sure that all of the retreat recipients will love and use your gift. You always inspire me to get back to my EPP, you know how it goes, machine piecing, hand appliqué, wool work and EPP. Between you and Dawn, and everything else, I’ll be busy forever! Love it! Thanks again and have a blast at the retreat. Stay safe, Covid is still an issue.

    I tried to love EPP and I just don’t enjoy it. I find myself wanting to learn things in seasons in my life so maybe it just wasn’t my time to love it. When I was in high school and they were still teaching girls home economics, I absolutely hated anything to do with sewing. Now I love it and since I have learned quilting I am branching out sewing other things. I absolutely love sewing now. So maybe I will pick it up later again. I think EPP is beautiful. What did surprise me is I love cross stitch. It’s one of my favorite things to do. God bless from Texas!

      Do what makes you happy! There are so many fun things to do out there that we don't need to waste our time on things that don't make us smile. Enjoy your stitching crafts and God bless you too. XO

    Perfect for quilt-as-you-go! Much nicer than those fold over versions everyone shows.

    I was thinking that putting some elastic on the back would allow me to wear one on my left wrist. Sewing a jewelry pin back on one side could allow me to wear one on my shirt (where a pin cushion may be handy). Also putting an elastic strap on one side, and a snap (or button, or velcro) on the other side, may allow one to be fitted on to one side of my old Singer sewing machine (to put pins in). Both ideas are worth a good try (I think). Those are wonderful ideas from you. Every one of those pincushions are beautiful.

    Could you leave the paper in the bottom half? And could you do lizard glitter in bottom 2/3 and stuff with fiber fill on top to keep shells from trying to escape while sewing closed? I’m thinking of making these for a cross stitch retreat. Love them!!!

      Great question! The papers remain in the fabric until all the edges are sewn. The paper can be folded and re-folded to make it easier to stitch, but leaving them in until the entire hexagon is stitched in place helps hold the shape. Have fun!

    • @alwaysinstitches5388
      @alwaysinstitches5388  2 роки тому
