here in Sweden that is a Mora, got a Mora 511 last week for 40:- SKR (just now US $ 3 and 81 cent), so well below the stated price limit and still a decent knife, not perfect, but it would be adequate for most things (you can even get sparksfrom the spine with chert/flint/quartz...).
@@ONThree, do you guys do any classes? I never see any mention or advertising? I've trained with several schools, but your approach is more realistic. Would love to take some training with you guys.
You've awesome friends Jason. Wish my 40th had been that bloody good fun. Ditto my 50th as well. Always looking for an adventure. :) Happy birthday 40s are the new 30s!!!
Great video! As far as the $100 challenge it went well with all the distractions. And I am glad you had them. Smiles on all of you ! Family and friends are very important. Would have loved to see what the $5 knife would have been like. So great having Survival Dispatch and all of the contributors! Much appreciated!
Hey guys what a great video! Thank you for taking me along to this outstanding brthday party. You did a great job as everytime. It is a great pleasure to see your big community enjoying the outdoors. Happy birthday Jason, enjoy life and your beloved ones. Stay safe and as always all the very best to you and yours from Austria, Bernd 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕🔥🍻🎁
GOOD TIMES!... making memories with family and friends is a good way to celebrate!... and the location was perfect, because ''wildfires and zombies'' don't cross water!... (lol) I knew Jason would love the cup/pot, and he'd find the knife ''interesting''... I also knew that all that chosen gear would be too much for him and he'd end up sharing... and still feel comfortable... Good to see the band together again... stay safe out there and never forget to have fun... Cheers from Oz...
Happy Birthday Jason!! Several years ago I had a survival thinking experiment, I got to visit a homeless encampment and at first I was taken aback by it, but then I realized that most of them had really good survival skills, maybe not in the same way as we would think of it, but they had some good ideas. So when I got back home I revisited my kit, and upon looking at it I got the idea for an exercise. What I done was, I pictured myself as being homeless, the reason for it was irrelevant, but I started thinking, what do I need to survive on either a small or no budget? The resultant kit was very interesting and all the gear worked surprisingly well. Good kir does not have to be expensive
That is survival attitude at the end. It was under $100 kit because your knife “grew legs” and walked away. Thank you, I enjoyed watching and time flew.
Huggies. A sheet. Etc. happy birthday, Jason. And what are friends for?! Float trip!! We used to smash or azzes and knees on trips like that in upstate New Yawk!!
when it''s warm, all you need for 3 days is a Grayl and matching metal cup, a Bic lighter, a reflective tyvek bivy, net-hammock, cordage to hang the hammock, a bugnet suit, small med-kit, pocket knife and for safety's sake, a cell phone. Probably dont need the knife or the Bic, but small stuff happens that one or both of those can help a lot.
Every advantage certainly helps.. We try to focus on tools that help with the survival priorities.. I think we did pretty good for $100.. Thanks for watching!
(5am) G'day Mr.Morris, Mrs.Salyer & Team. Giving Mr.Salyer an under budget kit is giving him an advantage. No matter how much it costs it's like giving him a head start. The best part is staying cool along the river with friends and family. Kit can be wet but still functional. The man is a true survivalist, always thinking ahead. So how do we get a birthday present to Mr.Salyer? Pls advise. Cheers from The Land Down Under.
Good evening from America! Always good to see y’all in the comment section. We knew he would crush it- besides it’s his birthday and I just wanted him to have a good time and be surprised at the same time.. As far as sending him a gift, I will let him answer on that.. Y’all have a good day and I’ll talk to y’all soon 🔥
Happy birthday, Jason. 🥳 I'm going to come back and watch this video. I just discovered your channel. I'm going to watch the Devastation in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachian.💔 My deepest prayers go out to each and every person affected by helene an Milton it's just devastating. What our government doing to their own people!👀😡 I said it from the moment I saw this,it was not a normal hurricane, and when I found out that. Yes, they are the ones that did it and then totally turn their back on the citizens of the UNITED STATESOF AMERICA. And what they've been doing all along. Personally, I feel it should be TREASON!!. They should be taken out of that White House in handcuffs. Just my opinion... Lord, have mercy on us all. Save us from the evil ones.🙏🏼
I forgot the $100 limit. A self made tyvek house-coating bivy will suffice when it's warm and so will a cookpot filtering the raw water thru a clean T shirt, the boiling the water. Saves $ 200
Why are you leaving what was on you? As soon as that tarp came out, should of opened it and packed it with everything until you stopped using the rope and tape to water proof it and able to carry it walking in the water if needed
Now we need a "$5 knife only" challenge!
Happy Birthday JS.
Great job JJ.

It’s a band that I sewed up many years ago.. We actually have a video on it 👍🏻

ELDERberries, how appropriate for a 40 year old.
😂
My dad called the truckers hitch a "California fruit knot." always claimed the rope would break before coming loose...
I agree which is why I use an Alpine Butterfly instead
I prefer the Italian triple whipple hitch. But hey, I’m old school.
@@ONThree😂
What happens to the knife they gave you in the beginning
He lost it on the river ride…
I think a raccoon is now using it to clean his fish by the river.
@@ONThree😂
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
When did he lose his knife?
On the river
Why are you leaving what was on you?
As soon as that tarp came out, should of opened it and packed it with everything until you stopped using the rope and tape to water proof it and able to carry it walking in the water if needed
The challenge required him to do so per his friends.. Normally we would exactly that 👍🏻
I can eat real good for $100 in 3 days
If you can’t survive in $100 for 3 days something wrong with you. That is cake to do.
