Mark, your expression to the taste of vietnamese food is mouth watering. Thank you very much for your time and videos. Brought back a lot of my own memories when I was in Vietnam back in 07.
Your editing is getting better, I like that it was more about the entire trip including the little culture quirks and interactions. This is possibly your best video yet.
I've been watching kyle for a while now and it was great that you were able to meet up with him. I'm sure he is a world of knowledge about Vietnam. This is another one of your videos I didn't want to end. Great job. Thanks.
Mark you really are living the dream. You get to travel to so many exotic locations and taste all sorts of great food and have a beautiful Thai wife Ying to keep you company and I am sure she is also a great chef as well!
I have been following you and your vlogs for a number of months now and this one was especially entertaining. It was nice to see Ying sitting beside you and letting someone else do the camera work. Kyle was very helpful and enjoyable. I'm retiring in Chiang Mai this fall. Vietnam is on my bucket list but you have moved it to the top. Trust me, I'm well over 22 and I think you're doing an "awesome" job. Thank you.
Great collaborating food guides video. Bánh xèo is what the staff at mini hotels are frequently eating in the kitchen for breakfast. If you are staying at a mini hotel for a few days and get to know everyone, you can eat right in the kitchen sometimes. They call it the "family table". They might refuse to charge you for the Bánh xèo because they invited you to be a part of the family for that meal. I always give a nice tip at the end of my stay at a mini hotel to take care of the staff.
How awesome that they debone the fish for you, that's so convenient!!! That was definitely my favorite place that you guys visited, it looked so peaceful and relaxing.
What a dream day. Continuous eating...of great food. I did notice that you could get a little snack in the city for $5 and then a 'full on' dinner outside of the city for $15. Also lovely to see some authentic Viet street life. So nice to see the young'uns socialising in the park (unlike the west).
leenee loo Thank you so much Leenee. One of the things I loved about Saigon is how people hang out, at coffee shops and parks, just socialized enjoying - a really great quality in a culture.
I just happend to stumble upon your channel and love it. Thank you for your wonderful videos. I was born in Saigon and came to the US when I was only 2 & 1/2 years old. I do love all kinds of food and especially Vietnamese food. I rarely eat it because I love my parent's cooking the best! I now live in center city Philadelphia. We have wonderful food options here and a great China Town. However, traveling overseas is an amazing experience in both food and culture.
Love the look you have on your face when you eat something delicious. Makes me laugh everytime! Enjoying your Thai and Vietnameses food tours. I am from Vietnam but have not been back there in years.
Mark, I can't stands watching Ur goodies awesomeness videos anymore, because everytime I was them they always brings water in to my mouth and I get supper hungry hahahah,
Your videos are awesome! Cant wait to get to Vietnam this February to taste all of these wonderful dishes!!! Your channel will be stand by when we are there✌
Mark, every one of your videos are a pleasure and entertaining to watch. ..you're very lively and full of life and love for food! Keep up the good work! Keep making these videos, I'll continue watching! Hope to do what u are doing!
very helpful - thanks! i will be traveling to saigon in five weeks, can't wait to eat all of this wonderful food. also, i love your expression whenever you first try something delicious! lol
I visited Saigon two years ago and stayed at pullman center. I was fall in love with this city deeply. Now I'm missing the delicious food that I had had then. I hope I had a second chance to visit it again soon.
I was once the token "Straight White Guy" at a potpourri factory in Houston, TX. My friend, Le Hung, and his cousins decided to put me to the test with this dish. I LOVED it.
Hi mark... I show your VDO to my wife, who is Vietnamese. She mentioned that the places that Kyle brought you are more for Viet Kieu (overseas Vietnamese), not really true local places. If you happen to be back to Saigon again, she would be happy to guide you around.
Kijtanat Pornsommai Since when is there a distinction between local Vietnamese and Viet kieu places? I think maybe you need to come to Saigon and see for yourself.
Mark this looks do darned good! There must be NOTHING like eating REAL Viet. food made in Vietnam. Nothing over here, made even in our Vietnamese delis, looks as good as the stuff does in YOUR videos about Vietnam, Mark :)
Nice to see someone bite into good food and be happy about it , just like I am when I have Saba Sushi every two weeks at Sushi Mori Restaurant in Langley BC Canada
Fascinating stuff, Mark - and great to see how you contained good ole "motormouth LeDotNet" - that was quite a feat........that icecream-warfare was hilarious too....:-)
Awesome! You managed to check out the Banh Xeo place! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love these Saigon videos, it's giving me a lot of ideas on where to eat the next time I travel there! :)
Rarely do I watch a food video just after eating and get so hungry. lol Mark, I look forward to more culinary adventures with Kyle who picked some great places to check out.
Thanks for answering. O feel like I know both of you well. I have watched almost all of your videos. It is the best way to see Thailand. Since I am not able to get there at this time. Hope someday soon.
OMG Mark, you don't know how excited I am to see your new video. As a Vietnamese living far away from home, watching you exploring my country is so thrilled and enjoyable as well as make me feeling homesick :( Anyway, I'm so glad that you had great time in Sai Gon, if you have a chance next time, please go to Da Nang city which is my hometown. I guarantee you will have an amazing experience there with beautiful sights and awesome food.

Hey Ying & Mark, Looks like you had a great time. Must've been a pleasure eating without the usual scooters buzzing around. Those two women ice cream spruikers would do well selling used cars! Great video again. Jim.
The bahn Cuon my mom say it's a lot of work to make, so she only make it once every few months! The sauce is very sweet, and it's easy to eat a lot because it taste good.

Damn that looked good! I went to a local Vietnamese restaurant last week because of all your video and have to say its very different from other Asian cuisines I've tried before but quite good.
A little unfortunate how the ice cream lady(ies?) got upset when Mark was filming at the end... They should have had him standing front and center of their shop. Mark's giving a free plug and international advertisement... instead they'd rather sell a few more
so glad you got a guide. i found some of the vietnamese dishes you showed to be underwhelming. this was a good video. there were a few things i'd never seen before.
