Nah, not really. Lyricism will always be around & will never go out of style...its just not promoted as much anymore...you have to look harder than in the past, but its there...underneath all the riff raff.
If one has to do anything to get what the music was meant to portray then they didn’t do a good job when making the song. Nah, not really. Lyricism will always be around & will never go out of style...its just not promoted as much anymore...you have to look harder than in the past, but its there...underneath all the riff raff.

If one has to do anything to get what the music was meant to portray then they didn’t do a good job when making the song. In my humble opinion one shouldn’t do anything but simply just listen and if it doesn’t touch you then it didn’t cut it period. Next. That’s how an A&R in a listening session would behave. @Stephen Jendryka I mean yea but it seems you're trying to say you know exactly what is wrong with the song when most people seem to enjoy it, if you dont like it that doesn't mean it's shit, it means it doesn't fit your taste, this is really the difference between saying a souflet is burnt (which would be a measure of lack of skill) which what you're actually wanting to say is "I don't like souflet" which would be a preference, theyre talented in they can make music that is not only rhythmically pleasing to so many but also lyrically pleasing, if you want to criticize a song you have to point to specifically what is wrong with it otherwise it is assumed you simply don't like the kind of music being made which isn't a valid criticism due to how preferences in music work, if som people disliking rock was a valid criticism to not play rock we'd never have had bands like lead zeppelin, so what's your criticism of the song.
