1999 Chevy Astro Wiper tranmsission replacement

The video shows how I replaced the wiper transmission on my 1999 Chevy Astro Van. This should also apply to GMC Safari Vans. I started out trying to use a Dorman aftermarket replacement for the linkage. After having to return two of those, because of the plastic nuts cracking and the wiper arms not going down far enough, I ended up buying a used part. The used part was much easier to install and it actually worked. Normally I don't have issues with Dorman parts but this was not my experience with these parts.
I first noticed something was wrong when the wiper arms got out of synch. The passenger side was jumping around while the driver side was working normally. This was caused by broken screw threads on the pivot point that caused the plastic nut to back off. At first I just tightened the nut, but it just loosened up again during the first rain storm.
