I think I speak for all ODST fans when I say thank you for giving them so many little moments in this work as a whole. It’s nice to know they’re appreciated.
Yeah 343 almost completely omiting them was a real mistake. Sure spartans are awesome but with them now being recruitable they would not just pull a good rank and file marine or soldier, they would draw from the special forces, but we never SEE those special forces in action and it limits how we perceive these new Spartans or the marines because we don't SEE how good marines can get and how far of a step up IVs are.
HE DID IT! HE DID THE THING! (points at ODST) HE DID THE ODST THING WITH THE RAIN AND THE PIANO AND! AND!... Ladies and gentlemen, I, without a doubt. Love everything that SODAZ has done for all of the communities he is a part of. He certainly deserves more recognition than what he has, I simply can't wait to see more of his future works.
Ikr 😄 when the first piano notes dropped I exclaimed out loud: Oh my god! He did it. Seriously he really make that scene shine with just that little detail. But when was the last time Sodaz didn't make a scene a million time better because of his attention to details?
I don't know why but when I saw those Pelicans come in I audibly said out "Reinforcements finally". I guess despite these only being the wips I was definitely immersed in your work. Also that Difference for Darkness moment with the rain, the lone ODST staring up to the sky being lit up with AA fire and sound of it in the distance. I fucking love it. As huge Halo 3 ODST and ODST fan that moment hit hard for me. Can't wait to see more!
Im going to have to say. Out of all the animations ive watched, yours are just so special. It holds this special unique feeling to it, that not only connects to what us halo fans know and grew up loving about halo, but shows more of the universe that was halo, prior to the 343 take over. Shows us the things we so badky yearned to see. Thank you Sodaz for just being you, making quality content, and always keeping us content. Thank you pal. You've earnt yourself a dedicared fan here.
It's strange, because many of the books since 343 have given us the universe like this, but the Games have been too Spartan focusesd. There's been effectively no meaningful UNSC presence in game since Halo 4, and even then it was mixed. I'm hoping that for whatever comes next after Infinite, the rest of the UNSC shows up, more Spartans and especially ODSTs come back out of hiding on Zeta Halo, and it's more of a widespread campaign against Atriox rather than Chief just lone hero-ing it.
Those marines lived! Yes! Also, god do I love the setting, at the beginning it now seems to be a counter attack or a diversionary force to get the AA systems online, and the marine forces at that got overun by the elites with Energy swords were either forward element sent in to soften up the base, part of the main force that actually made it to the drop zone, or were survivors from the base itself trying to retake it, all the while the counter attack is getting harrased by Covenant air support, but enough UNSC forces make it to proceed to their objectives, and after breaking through the forward defense line, the Spartan-Odst infiltration team make it into the base, leaving the spartans outside to hold off any attacks, while the Odst's get the guns up. After getting the guns up, the Covenant, not prepared for any attacks, are shredded and forced to retreat, or are bnlown out of the sky, after which the bulk of the UNSC forces start rushing in to press their advantage on the reeling covenant forces. Cant wait to watch the next vid, I really hope its a Night ine like you teased, loved that atmosphere in ODST
Absolutely love how the ground shakes whenever a spartan jumps or runs by it shows how actually massive they are. And I love the odst rain and music so much.
When that green-heavy-spartan walk or step down from warthhog, camera shakes. It shown how heavy that spartan was. I like that cool details. Keep up the good work!
THIS is true Halo. Not Master Cheeks. A brutal ruthless Battle for survival for Humanity against an enemy that is way stronger where only Spartans can turn a Battle into Humanitys favor. Friggin amazing job dude! Love this content!
Also shows the part that the rest of the UNSC played in defending humanity. Spartans were always the centre of the show in Halo but never the sole focus, marines, soldiers and ODSTs also gave their lives in the Human-Covenant war to achieve the final victory. 343 misinterpreted Halo as just being a superhero story about a bunch of power-armoured superhumans rather than being a story about mankind's tenacity and will to survive.
Sodaz Videos especially Halo = Quality made in Heaven Paramount Halo = Dog 💩 Should have made the tv show be directed by Sodaz and all other Halo Fans both the old and new, because with them leading the directing then tv show would have become our Golden Age-Halo 's Reclamation of the Best Sci-fi out there. The Halo to series is not bad. It is not super but it is not bad. The only mistake it does, is that it for 2-3 hours, it copies the Mandalorian. But it not bad at all. You have a HALO story set in the HALO universe, before the events of Reach.
That thumbs up kills me it's so good. I love it because it's such a small character thing that isn't used as much as it can be a lot. Body language matters so much in story telling, and so having the spartan give a thumbs up feels really big because it just seems like such an emotive gesture.
It is such a human gesture. Even when they are in such amount of armor and are absolute killing machines, they still are human, feeling the joy of survival
Dropped everything I did once that notification came up! Keep it up! Very nice transition after all the action. Especially the ODST theme in the end....nostalgia feels man.....

I'm loving this series you've got going. You're a good story teller.
Spartans & Marines holding the ground while ODST get the AA guns operational. I appreciate the little to no dialogue (get the mission done and move on to the next objective - exactly how warfare is fought). Great story telling and animation!
I always thought it would be awesome to have a halo ODST using the reach engine, maybe based in New Alexandria. Seems like I'm about to see a video of what that might be like!
The troopers rushing out of the pelican to help, the ODST in the end looking up towards the sky with the music, i almost cried because that was fucking beautiful
I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but the exploding hunter scene has an incredible amount of detail; particularly the fact that, hunters weight almost 5 tons, it's understandable why it fell so quickly and didn't go flying through the air, considering the explosion was from a frag grenade, not that big. It's magnificent.
That ODST looking up at the sky, the piano music with the rain in the background, the sound of combat in the distance. It gives the exact feeling i had when going on patrols late at night and having that moment of clarity. I have no idea how you pulled it off. But you did, and you did it perfectly.
I'm sure you've read something like this hundreds of times already, but it really just needs to be said: Thank you so very much for all of these little moments with the ODSTs. I cant wait to see this when its all finished and it will definitely be the THE talk of my Halo Arma unit once it is done.
It pays homage to the Lore sooo well! Even the fact that many times Humanity would prevail on the ground but still lose the planet because of the Covenant's superiority in space.
As a paratrooper myself thank you for your awsome work with the ODST. they are my favorite because I was a paratrooper with the 82nd and relate with them. Well the closest thing to them today. I would gladly drop from space. It would be such a rush. Sorry I'm nuts. The more dangerous the situation I would perform better. I always stayed calm in chaos and in a sick way loved it. Hooah!

The last part reminds me of Halo ODST, and I almost thought it was going to rain. I love how you manage to show how the UNSC deploy their forces, especially for the reinforcements!
