Yeah, make sure to ONLY go to Amsterdam, the rest is just boring farms and stuff, trust me, I live in the middle of nowhere and all we have are Klompen, Trekkers and Aardappelen ;)
Those chocolates from Puccini Bomboni are phenomenal. They're pricey at about $3.50 / €3.00 / £ 2.50 per chocolate but they're also totally worth it. They're also huge, which in a time of shrinkflation where food gets smaller and packaging is less full is a rarity.
But which dish/snack about those 24 do you like the most? Nice to see 'snert' and 'stamppot' in this video. Those dishes makes the most Dutch people at home. Even like 'zuurkool'.
As someone who has Dutch friends I can only suggest people to drive a big circle around that city. Its like Disneyland. Go to Rotterdam, Leiden or Groningen instead.
There is a secret technique, only to be known by us Dutch people, of "how to eat a tompoes without turning into a total mess." But I shall share it with you if you promise not to tell anyone. You take off the top and either place the top underneath the bottom or eat the top separate followed by the rest. Or if you really want to do it proper with knife and fork. Take off the top, scrape off and eat the cream, then followed by the bottom and the top as a wafer. Fun fact, I always take foreigners to eat haring the traditional way called "haring happen" where you take the haring by the tail, raise it above your head, tilt you head back and just slide it into your mouth while the fish dangles down. The complete shock of most is just way to funny.
We really don't claim Amsterdam as our own anymore, besides that, you did pretty good representating most of the dishes. (Except those fancy smansy bitterballs weren't the real ones imo)
So many lovely dishes. We loved the fries from Vleminckx. Kibbling was also very good. But I see now, that we missed some very interesting meals. Better pay Amsterdam another visit.
Regular sized pancakes are dinner in the Netherlands. Sometimes lunch on a Sunday, but never breakfast. Poffertjes aren't breakfast either, American pancakes sometimes are.

Old Amsterdam, damn. Expensive af as far as cheese goes, but it's one of those few expensive things that's really worth it. Put it on warm toast, a couple of slices, and topped with a wee bit of curry ketchup, absolutely sick. I've found, though, the older I get, the older I prefer my cheese. Jong belegen does nothing for me, if there's not a slight crunch to my cheese, what's even the point? Extra belegen is the minimum I'll get at this point.
Leave it to the Dutch to claim fries as their specialty, and market the Febo as a fun and unique concept, rather than a depressing way to eat heavily-processed offal😂
As a Dutchie I can confirm Amsterdam is way too overrated, it doesn’t have the best restaurants, it’s just a classic city with busy people. The food is not good. You should really visit a village where they have a lot of farms, to see how they make cheese, turn rose fields into bouquets and still have the old cacao from back in the day. If you really wanna visit a city, Arnhem is amazing, they have a lot of great food bars, decoration stores, local food stores, sweet family businesses with unique products, all of clothes stores and stores where the product is handmade and with love or from nature.

as a dutchman, seeing stampot and the bread with cheese in a restaurant is bloody wild
yes so real, its really the last thing you'd expect in a restaurant
It's like the Dutch version of the movie Ratatouille where they serve ratatouille, considered a peasant dish, at a fancy restaurant.
