Very good my friend
Very nice.. One of the go-to nymphs for anytime of the year..
+ugsisr Thank you! Yes, one of the most allround patterns that I know.
Nice looking nymphs nice job
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful Fly thank you, hey what kind of super glue is that? the brush is so fine looks better than the kind I'm using.
Hi, nice and easy to tie, I added a tungsten bead as I fish in fast deep water and it works!
Thank you very much! Yes, a tungsten bead added to this works perfectly if you want to fish deep.
Beautifully done as usual. I have been sick and am just trying to catch up with my subscriptions. All the best, Sean
Thank you Sean, I'm hoping that you're feeling better now. All the best to you, Simon
On flies with pheasant tail thorax cover, I feel that covering the thorax cover with varnish is mandatory. Not only does it make the fly look better, but it dramatically increases the durability of the thorax cover. Otherwise the pheasant tail breaks very easily chewed up with trouts teeth
Yes, if you would like to you can put some varnish or uv resin on the thorax cover.
Also, from a technical standpoint, your tying is superb. If you are willing to tell me, where are you from?
+Mark Patenaude Thank you! I am from Sweden but live in Switzerland
Nicely tied! Enough fibres to give movement and to trap a bit air without obscuring the form of the fly. Seen too many GRHEs tied so that they look like a ball of lint with a paint-brush for a tail - enough materials on one hook to tie three flies! Each to their own I guess. ATB! Hank
+Hank Vana2 Thank you very much! I'm trying to keep all my flies as sparse as possible to give a nice transluscent and buggy effect. On many or most flies, I think, less is more. All the best. Simon
Hi, nice fly, I like the dubbing loop spikes on thorax . Will tie some tonight and try out on weekend. Can you advise what vice you use. I am looking to upgrade. Thanks
Ivan
Thnak you! Yes the dubbing loop techniques are my favorite. Adds so much life and movement to any nymph. Happy tying and tight lines. The vise I'm using is the Swiss vise from Marc Petitjean. This one is the anniversary edition but it comes in a regular version as well, and some different bases. www.petitjean.com/online/en/swiss-vise/181-swiss-vise-25th-anniversary-limited-edition-1990-2015.html Here is a link to the one I use.
If you have any futher questions on vises, feel free to contact me anywhere.
Nice tying. What cind of tread are you using?
Sorry, I didnt see the comment 😊
+Per Stian Johnsen Thank you! The thread is the nanosilk, which is a gsp in 18/0 and in brick beige as they call it now. The site is semperfli.net but they don't sell directly but hopefully they have a dealer near you.
Your channel overall is very good. I see your jaws are Damascus steel. Are you working on a LAW?
+Mark Patenaude Thanks a lot. The vise I'm using in the Petitjean Swiss Vise limited edition
