I eat meat every day. Grass fed/finished beef where I can. Wild caught fish. Also dairy and pasture raised eggs. Couple that with fruit and vegetables and a daily fast of no less than 16 hours, though often more like 19-20. Really works amazingly well for me, having detoxed from highly processed junk garbage foods.
At 42 I am in better shape than I was in my 20s. My appetite never rages out of control anymore. I take no meds. I find that animal fats and proteins give a slow and steady energy burn throughout the day, and when I am fasting my body has an easier time tapping into its own energy stores.
I believe that so long as it is of the earth, plant based/vs animal based shouldn't be an issue, unless your individual body just can't tolerate one or the other.
