Just bought a 2022 Vulcan S 650 and it’s a beautiful machine. Absolutely loving it. Great touring / cruising bike for around town.

I hate the term "beginner bike" I'm 70 years old and have been riding since 1964 and I would love to have a Vulcan S instead of the 2021 Harley Davidson I now have.

*I am a young at heart (born 1949) rider. Today, I am eagerly waiting for my KAWASAKI Vulcan 650 Cafe (ABS). It will be delivered Tues 19 Dec 2023. Thereafter I’ll hit the road AH1 (Asia Highway 1) from Bangkok to Northern Chiang Mai. 680 km. Soon, I will have two bikes. My old ‘Thumper’ =RE= Meteor 350. Two years. Mileage 30,000 km. All over sunny Thailand in tropical heat and heavenly downpours. No more 350 cc Royal Enfield! Enough is enough! The nasty VIBRATIONS! Thanks for the chronic Wry Neck (Torticollis) And the Neuropathy (numb right hand throttle hand & fingers) usually after one hour in the saddle. =RE= No more! There is a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. But, I chose the 650 cc KAWASAKI cruiser. I am sure you’ll understand. The ‘KAWA’ Ninja 650 cc engine and the KAWASAKI’S reputation, legacy. Greetings Johnny BikeSanooK! I’m UA-camr,too. My channel: CarSanooK. OK. Thanks*

I have a 2005 XL 883C with a brand new 1200 engine in August of last year. I had a customized I wish I could sell it for about 3500. I would go by this Vulcan S right now.

I am looking to go test drive one.. I believe beginner bike is right, but also wrong.. I now drive a Yamaha R1.. So I can't really say I'm a beginner.. But I just think a Vulcan S is a ideal cruiser for anyone, not just a beginner.

I agree. I think a better term is "middle weight cruiser". I am not a newbie rider, but I don't need a 1200cc bike. The Vulcan 650 has plenty of horse power and it's a zippy bike. Loves to pull at higher-revs. It's just fun.

I have a 2015, pretty good bike. Not too fond of the shifting. Seems a little difficult to keep the shifting smooth.decent beginner bike. I would need to take a half to a star away cause of the shifting.

You can adjust the clutch engagement...
This is my current and only bike. It's not like a Harley because it isn't even trying to be. It is a cruiser with the riding characteristics of a sports bike. On high revs it accelerates like a Ninja 650 because of the same parallel twin engine. My only gripe about it is the lack of a slipper clutch and the lackluster stock seat. But still a great bang-for-the buck bike.

    Hey, I have that bike!
I love it. Beginner friendly, but peppy enough for any rider. Affordable, dependable, fun to ride.
I will say though I'm planning on putting a booster plug in mine to calm down the 1st and 2nd gears a bit. I find them twitchy. I also plan on swapping in an led headlight.
Few notes: you can adjust the clutch, and this bike has the ninja engine. It loves to rev high and is designed that way. The pegs may feel high, but it's got a nice lean for corners.
Seriously good motorcycle though and worth taking for a test ride to see if it's for you.

Nice vid...love the blue, not seen 1 in uk. Why restrict this great bike to 'beginner' status.....its for everyone. I'm 75 and it allows me to get on and stay comfortable (you try getting on a taller bike when you add a few years experience!). Touring, cruising and off the line frantic if you choose. They have made only 1 change since 2016 - a gear indicator. that says it all.....but led's are long overdue, but easy enough to do yourself. Off on Leesha now, smile growing by the minute,

Thanks for watching. I weigh 245lbs the bike has plenty of get up and go. All I would recommend is make sure the rear shock is adjusted for the correct sag. Also, I’m 5’6 my brother-in-law is 5’10. His legs are longer than mine. The full controls are perfect for him but for me I tend to reach a little bit.

Good video man. 1 question. What you mean switching gears is smoother in the honda and in the Vulcan you don't feel it? Im not very experienced and this is an honest question. I had a virago 535 (1996) switching gears was clunky like a tractor. Finding neutral involved praying to god for minutes. My Vulcan S I agree you can't feel it. So I don't understand what you mean with honda is smoother because the Vulcan you can feel it. Surely not feeling the gear change is the smoother experience? Again this is an honest question I only had those two bikes.

    • @HudsonMoto

Thanks for watching. On the Honda the clutch pull feels lighter and smoother also shift though the gears feels effortless. It just feels more fluid to me.

Beginner bike is such BS. Atleast down here in the Netherlands. U actually need to pass a written exam then a exam to show you can control the vehicle then an exam where you drive on the road. And before you are allowed to actually go up for your exam you need at least 10 hours of driving with an instructor so you got experience. Driving lessons are almost always on a minimum 600cc bike. So by the time you get to buy a bike and have a license your past the total beginner phase. Thats why we have way less accidents here aswel
