- Continuing my series on the installation of a Garmin Echomap chart plotter on my 2011 Sea Doo RXT X-260. How to install a boarding step on my Sea Doo. The boarding step is needed because I will be mounting the depth transducer to the right step mount in the next video.

Audio improvements are coming. I now have an off-camera audio recorder and lapel mic so future videos will hopefully have better audio.
Great video. Thinking about tackling adding a step on a 2015 GTR 215. I just picked it up today and was surprised to not see a step.
The trick to remember is that the step kit comes with fasteners for several different hull types. Make sure you use the fasteners specified for your application. The information as to which fasteners to use arein the instructions but you might have to read through a couple of times to verify you are using the correct stuff.

any time you are drilling, cutting, or sanding fiberglass, you should wear something to cover your mouth and nose. breathing in fiberglass dust is bad.
I know this video is old but do you have a link for this boarding step. All the ones I find mount to some brackets that are already on the rear of the Seadoo and mine doesn’t have those brackets.

The first measurement made is a half an inch. If you measure 1 3/4 from hole it’s to high. That’s The measurement across

Nicely done. What type and size drill bit did you use?
The drill bit was just a standard normal twist drill. I do not recall the exact size bit I used but do remember that the size was specified in the instructions that I downloaded from instructions.brp.com.

My step is the genuine BRP accessory. I ordered it directly through my local dealer.

What sealant did you use?
I used black RTV and is seems to have worked well
