I’d love to hear your thoughts on Studio Series 86 springer. I know it’s a controversial take, but after buying/owning most of these representations as well, I really find Big Spring to be the springer I gravitate to the most. I find the robot’s proportions to be heroic, if not exactly classic springer proportions. Both alt modes read like their classic cybertronian forms, particularly the helicopter. The transformation is involved, clever but not over-engineered. His face and lack of paint are detractors, but if it were reissued in premium paint with a sculpt on par with Studio 86 (my favorite thus far of all) I think people would give that mold it’s roses finally. Anyhow. Love this video…as a springer fan, it resonates.
I actually like the Studio Series Springer… It’s not 100% perfect because of the limited cost production for a Mainline / Retail figure… but it is great and we can only image how much better it would if it was a Masterpiece… As for the other versions of Springer… I agree with your sentiments about Big Spring… including his face… It really is a nice figure… and much easier / fun to transform… and a premium finish reissue would be amazing - Like a MP scale Studio Series… Here is a link for my review of Studio Series 86 Springer: ua-cam.com/video/eeGnecfdNs8/v-deo.htmlsi=datV4AwG5stIGpER
I've decided to order the fanstoys. The xtb for me is a disgrace for the price. Along with the big Spring versions I get two great toys but both still have their flaws.
That’s actually a really smart question because it help to know if there are any flaws in the design… especially with X-Transbots reputation… and the answer is NO… it’s held in place by friction - not good design…
@@streakshooter918 It feels dumb that I have to ask it. Even after watching a few reviews, I thought it would lock in somewhere (it looked like it would), but when I got it in hand, clearly not.
@@streakshooter918 I've had to use glue and Kiki's to add friction. It's pretty solid, but yeah, not great design. Also, there's a huge gap in the chest.
Thanks for making this video! Xtb should have made the eyes metallic blue and darkened the vents on the chest like Fanstoys
NP… I agree with your suggestions
Love the video. Wanted to add there was a Springer that was a repaint of Cybertron Defense Hot Shot.
Thanks… I did not know about that repaint… I just looked it up… it’s a cool looking figure… but a lot detail… thanks for letting me know…
@@streakshooter918 no problem man. Your Springer collection is awesome
This is awesome. There was like a botcon version plus a gdo one before thrilling 30 as well.
Thanks… You’re right! I totally forgot about those… thanks for the reminder… I just looked them up… should have included pictures of those two…
When mine gets here I’m making sure I touch up his eyes with some metallic blue paint
Nice!that should look great!
Uniquetoys Springer is amazing.

Yeah, XTB is a disappointing… and Big Spring… has its flaws… so FT appears to be the better
This feels like a dumb question, but does the chest on Virtus tab in anywhere?
