Bobby you are my favorite reviewer. Believe me I watch them all. There's no reason to even acknowledge the negative comments because you know who you are and you know what you have accomplished in this hobby. It's because of you. And your ideas and reviews that helped me Make choices.
All the @ss kissing in the world isn't a substitute for 5 minutes of valid negative criticism. Granted the hyperbolic example in his skit isn't "valid criticism", but disregarding critique leads to stagnation.
Just a couple notes here. 1. You are the only reviewer I watch. You are entertaining, be it good or bad, I enjoy it and while we may not agree on everything, I thing our opinion on most figures align. I know I may give you crap from time to time, but let's chalk it up to similar passions. 2. It's spun not spent. 3. You won't scratch the shoulders if you push both arms from the back out at the same time. Super clean and no damage. As always, love the review and I am sorry I am so late to the party.
XTB really need to start using primer on their metal parts before the painting. I think it would fix most of their chipping problems. Good to see the return of the skits though, long may they continue!
XTB, per usual, is all over the place. Always do just enough good to make a sucker like me to buy in. And they always do just enough bad to make me feel like a sucker
Yep I Literally promised myself to never buy XTB after stunticons where 3/6 has fatal issues and needed parts. But then I bought Virtus and now waiting on spare parts…
I like your reviews Bobby :) you're able to realistically show how these toys are actually converted. It's a perspective i don't see from other reviewers, who for me seems only wan to sell the toy even if its not worth buying. I always wait for your review on a toy before buying it, since you provide a honest opinion. Thanks
Hey Bobby this comment may be on an old Video but Virtus definitely has a double jointed knee the gray plastic tabs into the side for stability but if you pull the leg to the side you can untab it to get the full knee joint
It looks beautiful imo. I think it's by far the best looking in all three modes out of the three versions available. But unfortunately it's brought down by all the usual XTB bs: overly finicky engineering, poor QC and breaks down while you're handling it. Such a shame. If XTB could improve in those areas they would be my favorite third party company.
A gorgeous looking figure brought down by typical XTB shenanigans: questionable QC, questionable durability, and overengineered transformation with questionable tolerances. A real shame because she sculpt work is gorgeous as usual with XTB.
Great review as always! I passed on this offering as my Jansen left me with buyers remorse. I'll just stick with MMC for now. Thanks for being honest and as objective as possible
Most X-Transbots figures dare you to not throw the whole thing at the wall in the middle of transforming it, so I could not imagine buying an XTB triple changer!
Much as I've been wanting a good all-around Springer for a long time, what I'm getting is that this one just ain't worth what I'd have to pay for him. It's close, because yes he does look good. But I play with mine, not just look at them. In that regard, Open And Play might be the best. :/
Solid review... Thanks for reading my comments and turning them into a skit (jk) I think Springer's car mode was always awkward looking, I think, paint aside O&P has the best car mode, because it deviates in an aesthetic way. XTB and Fanstoys are both excellent, just depends on what you prefer.
I think xtb has a more hastak look and feel, whereas fanstoys is more idealized... Sometimes that's trivial and subtle; other times blatant and significant. But it's all subjective. Excellent choices to have
I agree with your critics, it's underwhelming for the time it took XTB to release and in my opinion it isn't enough to make me change my MMC version (I couldn't get over the fact the FT one can't "peck deck"). What XTB did with this Springer it's also not enough to make me forgive them for the past "mistakes" so I won't be preordering/buying their items before I get to watch a review from someone I trust. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
I went with this X-transbots Virtus ASI think he looks good in all 3 modes whereas the MMC Saltus looks good in robot mode but not as good in both his alt modes.
____ days since breakage.... Hilarious! I can't believe they spent that long on this bot and it still has the issues it has. We all expected just a little bit more attention to detail. Shame, because it looks great. The biggest thing I can't stand is that entire front of the torso in bot-mode doesn't tab in and just hangs there. Between that and the shoulder paint chipping right out of box... It's quite irksome. Thanks for the review Mr. Skully!
Bobby please keep doing more skits they are a hilarious part of your videos. As triggered as I get by the mistransformations, you did great on this one!
Love ur reviews bobby. Honest transformations no long cuts. Silver and gold, Fffeeeet, Swwoord. Love the fact u have no face. Been a fan for yrs. keep up the work
I haven’t transformed and reviewed mine because don’t want to scratch the paint on his shoulders…I waited a long time for this guy and now that he’s here I’m just like, “ok”….smdh, Xtransbots are really letting the fans down with the bad QC….😢. Anyway as always love your channel brother and word to the wise just ignore all the ignorant comments because a lot of these ppl are so close minded that they never even leave their homes…🌍🤔🌞
Man I'd really love to see your VS of this guy against the Robot Hero Airwolf, which is the improved version of Big Spring. Maybe I need to sent you mine ^^
@@MtgVeteran Robot Hero is Newage, but Open & Play I think is Maketoys. No clue hiw all of this went down. I don't think Newage KOed the O&P, especially since the Robot Hero still has the O&P stamp on the inside of it's forearms. Maybe Newage bought the mold and improved? Shady 3rd party stuff at its best for sure ^^
got you working on this whithout a sheet beneath and all that man Power gives me the creeps...Thank you for not breaking it. Great Job. Hear here scratches all over the Video. This is Art use some white gloves for this ingeneering. Greetings from Germany.
Trigger warning - yet again, every time I hear the word “pizazz” I hear Christopher Walken describing where Butch’s dad hid his watch for five years…. Also, another great review as per 😁👍
If this was the same price as Apache or Saltus, I’d be all over it. With this being the the most expensive of the 3, it’s really just not pulling me enough.
Omg!! Goodness Gracious!! Those are actually comments? 🙀..these guy's need to relax! Wow!! Feel Bad!! Only reflects on the person writing it though! As always great video review!
"I got better things to do tonight than Die." My favorite movie quote of all time. :) I do have better things to do tonight than switch out another MP Springer. I got MMC Saltus first and then thought I'd give the FT version a chance once I could get him again. I still have not swapped out my MMC version as I really like that version. I am not going for Super toon accuracy either. I feel there is a market for both, too bad we can't get both though. This is just some nitpicks I noticed watching your review. There was a black bar over a portion where you were putting the blade gimmick together and the Audio just cut out for a little when you were going from vehicle to Heli mode. I look forward to a Versus of the Big 3. Good review. Glad you didn't break any thing.
I own both the Fans Toys and MMC versions of Springer. Neither of them is perfect (the FT version’s transformation is a bear, the MMC’s car mode isn’t very accurate), but both seem better than Virtus. The use of die cast on the shoulder pauldrons is baffling. The fact that it can’t even hold a normal A stance without bending backwards is lame. I also think both MMC and FT are pretty animation accurate in terms of the robot sculpts (I feel the vents on the XTB’s lower chest are a little too big), so Virtus doesn’t even have that advantage. Pretty disappointing for a figure they’ve charged a premium price for. I appreciate your great review, Sr. Skullface. Looking forward to the versus - I wish you had the MMC to compare it to as well!
You, like everybody else (including me for the first 2 weeks of possessing this figure), missed the lateral waist crunch which can be seen here: www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/img_20220714_145004-jpg.29567973/ Also, he has a double knee joint if you unpeg something. It's in many promo pics.
Ah man, that took me ages to write that comment haha (Point very well made by the way) The shoulders, arms and chest look terrible, just looks off. I like the head sculpt though. FansToys still wins for me so looking forward to the versus, I'm going for a 6-4 win to FansToys
Oh man, I have been anxious for this review from you. I feared it might snap your breakage streak. Congrats on the review as a whole. I love the way it looks in each of the modes, and you're right about getting it into robot mode. Bending plastic against plastic should not be an instruction step. Something that has me a little concerned about XTB Springer is those tiny "ankles." How well will the plastic hold the weight of the figure over time, transformation and posing?
Loved how you just erased the comment....loved your review...just wished the connections to the shoulders where more secured and that gap ...that bothers me a bit...thank you sir...another awesome review

If Springer was higher up my 'must have best version of' character I *might* consider swapping him out, but not sure if it'd be for this guy or one of the others as they all seem to be equally cool and frustrating. still a really good video on a pretty complex piece!
The shoulders with chipped paint is a problem with almost all the copies, XTB is making and distributing plastics replacements that they will provide to everyone starting around July 20th
Every time I you say G1 I hear Geeeee owwnnneee from the "which Springer to spring for" video 😂 Paint looks good! Skulpt looks g1, but as a result a little derpy with the wide chest and the smaller shoulders. Looks the part on the shelf though!
Hahaha..Good one bobby right into the pride.. The hater might've thought;"I would kill him with my comment"..hahaha right into the nuts 👍🏾.. By the way, I'm still preferring my FT
The inclusion of the IDW style head is a strange choice to me; it doesn't match the more G1 styled body. Now, if there were an upsized version of the old Generations/Thrilling 30 Springer (which WAS the IDW design), that would make sense. I can somewhat overlook that with their Perceptor, since he did sorta start there before redoing himself into the sleeker version of himself in Spotlight: Drift and in All Hail Megatron. Something about the torso proportions seems off to me. I'm not a fan of the small shoulders, and the sword looks too big for him. All aesthetic issues though, so I could easily see those negatives being someone else's positives.
Clearly, the vehicle doesn't need to rotary blades to fly. This was just in-universe weapon storage. They packed away so snugly in robot mode, Springer just never used them. Maybe they packed away too well...

The ratchets at the knees are off so that’s why he stands weird. You can disassemble and fix it but yeah sucks
Oh I’ve been looking forward to this🍿🍿🍿
Can you compare to the mmc version too?
The Knee can bend more than 90 degrees and the weapons can tab in the back of car mode
I have to give it to XTB. They are consistent.....
Took me a while to realize those were Billy shelves there to protect the foam set.
I feel like this is one of those characters that when comparing with all three companies neither one will come out first in all categories.

The skit is great hahaha. What would we do without your channel. Watch reviewers like Deluxe?? Hahaha fuck that
Can't remember how many other 3p Springers aside from this FT and MMC, but this one impressed me the least so far.
Maybe they packed away too well...
a versus of MMC vs XTB makes more sense since MMC won the versus over FT
Did you miss a bit for the helicopter Bobby? the thighs have a slider to bring all the helicopter tail parts closer together.
I still think Saltus is the best built of them all Springers.
Can you read some more angry comments? Like jimmy Kimmel's mean tweets
Mine stand just right..i m sure if you took the time to play with it you will learn that there aren't much mistakes
I actually checked out some other reviews. Everybody seems to have the issue. They just don’t talk about it, don’t notice it, and even some of them do.
I honestly think it looks kinda floppy
People really write shit like that to you? I guess they want you to start saying crap like Bloosh! and calling G1 figs precious. (If you do, Ill never watch you again)
I hate this thing. Worst MP I have ever bought. A strong toss into the ocean is my recommendation.
Paint scratching instantaneously.
Awful engineering.
About as structurally sounds as a paper damn.
Terrible car mode. Average helicopter mode.
Average looking robot mode.
But he has great paint. 👍
Oh I’ve been looking forward to this🍿🍿🍿
