Hi I'm seriously thinking of buying this Fridge tomorrow, having seen it 5 times. My question is, do you still love yours? Any issues? Ice Maker? Warm spots,etc...? I'm in Victoria.
Totally agree with you Tomtin2001. I have had my Kitchenaid KRMF706ESS for 3 year and it has been giving me problem's every single year. I have had to change the Control panels twice. The compressor and the electronic board. The Ice machine stopped working, fixed twice. Top lights stop working. As I write this post my husband and son are using My Blow Dryer to manually defrost the ice built up inside my food drawers and fridge. Even with all that ice built up in my refrigerator. My refrigerator is not cooling. However Freezer is doing good. It is a beautiful refrigerator and I love the spacious compartments but so far its a "pretty to look at and hard to have." Type of deal! It is to a verry expensive refrigerator for all the issues it has given me and my family. Not to mention the amount of money loss on spoiled food we have had due to my Kitchenaid KRMF706ESS refrigerator. Don't recommend.
I've heard of this happening but it hasn't happened to me yet. I'm very careful about water overflowing and touching the control panel, because I've read that's what can fry it. The only issue I have is when it stops dispensing ice, and after a bit of troubleshooting I found out that it has everything to do with the water pressure. We have a well pump, so if the filter in the fridge is at 30% or lower the water pressure will decrease to the point it won't make ice. I've found i have to replace the filter by 30% or take it out until I can replace it. Other than that, I'm still thrilled with the fridge.
Hi Shelly, I'm in the market for a new fridge and I'm really interested in this one. Our current Samsung fridge freezes up so often and I was wondering if you have had any issues with this refrigerator? I would really appreciate your feedback since it has been over a year now! Thanks
I love this refrigerator even more after a year. I had a Samsung before this and it froze up all the time too. I read the reviews of this one before I bought it and the only concern was that the water and ice dispenser is over the deli drawer control panel. The reviews said that people would use the water dispenser and accidentally let water drip down on the panel, which of course would fry it eventually. I've been careful and told my kids to be careful with that, so we've never had an issue. The ice maker can be touchy if your water pressure isn't great, but we have a well pump reverse osmosis filter that slows down our output so any issue I've had with ice was always fixed by replacing the filter. Overall, it's truly a great fridge. I'm very happy with it.
It is absolutely the WORST Fridge… KRMF606ESS The shelf layout height in fridge does not fit standard jug sizes … You will have to remove 1 Shelf if you want to keep standard jugs on shelf’s The LEDS CONSTANTLY burn out… If one bulb in a string goes out, all go out. Replacement bulbs are hideously expensive The Ice Maker Constantly Freezes up The glides on the freezer compartment drawers detach from the drawers.. You don’t notice right away… This causes freezer door to not close completely… Warm air inside freezer creates water buildup on top of freezer beneath middle drawers… You turn down temp on freezer due to warm air leaking… This freezes water on top of freezer due and warps condensation tray from fridge due to ice buildup pushing upwards on tray… The warped Condensation Tray then does not allow fridge condensation to drain because water isn’t flowing in right direction…. This water overflows warped condensation tray and makes way to floor … damaging hard wood floors… The tray is cheap, but the fridge must be totally dismantled to get to location to replace. Very poor design and poor performance for a $4K unit… Do NOT RECOMMEND

It’s a fridge worth getting excited over! I still love it just as much as the day I brought it home. The drawers are the best.
