Now that I know how to play with this app, I find it simple, but that's only because of this very good tutorial. Thank you!
Glad to help, Mate! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
Brilliant. Incredibly well explained. Not umming and erming and constantly making mistakes like one particular music app guy that I won’t mention the name of! I was dying to get started with this app and now I can! Thankyou so much!
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
We can really do *a lot* with this app! Fun times! Woot! 👍
Thank you....... the developer ought to give you credit for your clear informative tutorial.
As someone who has bought this app I have t a clue how to use it....but you given me clearer insight.
I sincerely hope you give us more tutorials on this.
Respect.

This is by far the best tutorial I have seen for Groovella Rider. thank you very much. I have three questions:
1. Although you performed perfectly is there an undo or erase somewhere if you make a mistake while doing your beats?
2. You have great timing, but is there a quantize function for those of us that may not be as good?
3. Can you use a midi keyboard to play the melodic parts ? ( I am just better at playing keys)
Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
I have great news for you!
In answer your questions:
*Yes, Yes and Yes! *
WOOT!
Nicely done, it’s a great app all the better for being on one screen. Extra points for the VCV Rack outro, that thing is amazing and going to be huge as more devs hop on.
Thanks very much for the kind words, mate! 😁 🙏 And *massive extra bonus points* to you for watching the whole video!! 🤗🤗👊 (The VCV rack is absolutely blowing my mind - I can't believe that it is free!) ❤️
Electronisounds Audio I am seriously considering upgrading the laptop just to be able to run more modules, makes it considerably less “free” but worth it I suspect. The future is very bright considering it’s still only v0.6. The developer seems like a top bloke too.
Excellent vid. GR-16 is deep but the flow of your tutorial is clean. Can’t wait to see what you do on slicing loop samples. I think it works better on GR-16 than on the Electribe 2S. Still trying to figure out sequencing in slice mode. Thanks much...
Thanks for watching and for the kind words, Sean! 😁 More GR-16 videos to come! 👊
Oooooooo I like that 😍
Hey Hey! Thanks very much! 🤗😁👊
Thank you
You are very welcome! 🤗 I am absolutely in love with with this app - More GR-16 videos to come! 😃
Excellent, Dean, just perfect to get me jump-started on this app!
Good luck getting started, bro! 👊 This app is so sweet! 😁 More tutorials to come for sure! 😁
Yes boiiii
Thanks for the support! 😀 👊
Pronounced fridge ian ur welcome 🤩
Great explanation… I’m technologically illiterate 😊… and you have explained this so even someone like me can get it…Thankyou
Yo! Thanks for checking it out, Scott! Big Ups! 😁🙏👊
Hi Dean, can you try to do a Video using GR16 like a midi sequencer using the midi out to control external Synth?
Hmmmmm..... Yes - I can look into that! 😀 👊
Electronisounds Audio I think Is very useful, I saw a video using korg electribe like midi sequencer and GR16 is the same! I got for example 7 external synth and I need to sequence without computer and GR16 can be the solution! You can use the internal drums of GR16 and external synth! If you do a video I will be grateful! 🙏🏻
@@AlexFainDj Excellent idea Alex. Dean, would be the best man to do this job, for sure. Let´s hope he willing to walk the walk.
This looks good. I like how everything is on one screen. Is there a song or arrange mode?
Hi there! 😁 👊 There is a way to "chain patterns" together into an arrangement, but I haven't learned exactly how to do that just yet. (it's on the list... he he) I am also really excited about the Ableton Live export, and I will be exploring that for sure in future videos as well. 🤓 I am really loving this app. 😍
Electronisounds Audio Cool, I might think about getting it then.
Just getting into grooverider as a way of staving off GAS for elektron boxes, and rewatched your videos, Dean. Superb work, and what an app! Would love to see you use this with gadget or NS2. I like to stay in one app as much as possible, but a second app would make it easy to add long, evolving pads, or harmonic progressions longer than eight bars. Have you successfully mapped any hardware to this? Twisting real knobs is more fun. Keep up the great work and keep making music :)
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
I was never able to map a midi controller to GR, but it's had some updates since i've used it - so *maybe* it's possible now?
If you are interested in the Elektron boxes, there is a sample-based drum machine for iPad that is VERY similar in concept to how a Digitakt works.
It's very fun to play with, and it's called TON: ua-cam.com/video/WpH2CWbx4IQ/v-deo.html
@@ElectronisoundsAudio thanks - I have ton, but it feels under-developed compared to GR-16. Of course, there's always Drambo, which can do p-locks, trig conditions, sound design, modular synthesis, sequencing, sampling, modern languages, tea making, and interpretive dance, but I just sit in front of my ipad scratching my head whenever I boot it up.
@@pianoyan Yeah, i've heard good things about Drambo, but i've not played with it myself. 😀 👊
Just not enough hours in the day!
Has there been a follow to this great video? If so what is it called or is there a link. Cheers guys
Hey Hey, Brad! There is no follow-up per se, but I do have a few more videos with GR-16 content here: ua-cam.com/play/PLK5Ai5ysFp2tAPEKlSV2zCkPG-M2wFD7d.html
Very helpful. Love your chanel it's really cool. How about a trance pattern 💪👌
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching, Steve! 😀 👊
Sorry, Trance isn't really a genre i'm very good at.
@@ElectronisoundsAudio ah no worries. Keep up the great work. In your opinion if I was to run Gr 16 with AUM and 4 apps Inc layr and soundscaper plus a reverb would an I pad 128gb be OK? Or do I need 256?
@@stevegriffiths566 Actually, the 128 vs 256 is just *storage* - it has nothing to do with how *powerful* the iPad is. This was done on an iPad AIR 2, which can get you going with making music on iPad, but anything made after that will be even more powerful, regardless of how much storage it has. That being said, you want as much storage as you can possibly afford. It goes faster that you might think! 😀 👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio thank you for your kind replies and help I appreciate it. Look forward to your next upload. 👌
I love this program, its so nice to use it’s the electribe 3 we never got. Anyone know it it can be completely controlled by midi? my keyboard has a bunch of daw control type of controls has a jog wheel too. would be nice if i could ise its controls to put physical controls to this, the keyboard is keylab essential 49
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁👊
If I'm not mistaken - I'm pretty sure you can map anything in this app to any midi controller of your choice.
It has full MIDI LEARN - and here's a link to the actual manual so you can get it going, woot! 👏👏

New to this scene, I Can Diggit
Hey Hey! Thanks for stopping by! You can really do a lot with this app! 😀 👊
Can we have the notes not being snapped or at least 1/64 th.
Sorry, it's been years since I used this app, I'm really not sure on that. Honestly, I don't think so, I think it's auto quantize. 😁👊
Why is there a kick drum automatically playing when I try to record a new pattern ? And how do I get rid of it to make my own drum program ?thanks
I don't know why the developer chose to do that. Just delete them by clicking the SEQ button, make sure pad 9 is selected and delete the 4 kick drums by pressing the lit up pads one time. 🤗😁👊
Electronisounds Audio thanks for the help!!!
Sure thing, Bro! Woot Woot! 😁👊
