and rodent poop. that lung infection possibility is real. another UA-camr that does old homes got a serious lung infection...created horrible back aches so took a while for him to figure out was wrong. now he has to wear a full, oxygen fed space helmet type thing to work in
Pleased you were able to get the timber and repair the beams. I really worry you will find it extremely difficult to keep warm this winter if you have no ceiling to keep in the heat. I am watching the adverts twice so that my few cents each video can help you as you are both working hard but there is still so much to do. I look forward to seeing you get a ceiling!
Deivid, you do such an amazing job. Thank God for giving you knowledge and skills, strength and stamina, perseverance in renovating, hawling, hammering taking down woods bricks, etc to make your house livable. Despina, I'm sure you can interior design and make it a home.
Yeah we are going to put rockwool instead of spray on foam it's much easier to work with and foam would stick to wood too much, but we can't wait to have a kitchen and living room it's hard without it! Thank you for all your kind words and support ❤️😊
We eould love to show a tour but it's all mess plus we have things done that aren't uploaded yet 🤔😊 we will do one once we finish the kitchen and living room ❤️
One of my favorite channels recently. Love your videos. So glad to see more eye protection and masks than in the first few videos! Safety first! Edit: Would a box fan/exhaust fan help?
That extra wood with those bolts is certenly doing the trick. One can see the wood is try and it is massive so this is awesome. One can clearly understand there is skills and knowlegde involved. :)
Is that termite damage? I can't tell, everytime I think y'all have the ceilings to the point of no more clay, dirt, mortar falling, Wallah here's another mess. Lol 😆 🤣 I know it's not funny, but you handle it like a Pro!! 💪 So anxious to see a slow tour, at snail speed! 🐌 of the house. Take care my Lil sweet ones.🤗
I love what you are both doing . I wish I had done this when I was younger. Also I prefer your longer videos as the short ones I always feel is that all. Love watching you both. Well done you should be proud of yourself. ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience. May I ask why as a primer needed after putting the material against fungi?. How does primer helps? or what is its role when putting a coat of it on the beam?. thanks again.
@@DoBeDiff UA-cam is a learning experience, you couldn't have known. It's about taking what you know now and using it for the future. You guys are doing great!
Im a hobbyist woodworker and this is the first video Ive seen someone doing this on youtube. I guess its an effective way to strengthen a beam.Did you place this in the middle of the beam where theoreticaly is the most load? I have a similar setup in the cellar of a really old house I'm renovating in the country, and I'm probably going to do the same thing instead of taking out the beam and patching it up or replacing it. Congrats to you , a young person with obvious wood working skills , not afraid of hardwork and renovating a house that has sentimental value!!! Despoina is a Greek name , any ties to Greece?? Be well and thank you for a great video!!!
Thank you, We only did it where it was rotten, the rest of the beam is like brand new no need to repair we went over the rotten part by a meter or so to attach many screws in place, I actually wanted to run 20mm metal rod through to clamp the two wood beams on sides, this would be way to overkill for this the beams are made to hold tons of clay so this rockwool is piece of cake for it. Despina is Greek, she is born and raised in Greece we only moved to Latvia a year ago. I am from Latvia so we wanted to buy a house here as Greek prices are extreme!
I've just come across you two the last few weeks! Your both doing amazingly, I love your attitudes neither of you are afraid of hard work which is inspiring! Do you both have a background in farming etc or is this all new to you? If it is new you'd never know! I'd like to help you guys a bit let me know what you need x love from Yorkshire, UK xx
They where in the house years ago. There is no fredh holes. And the primer seals the wood quite good. In worse parts we put a liquid to help against them. Hope they wont cause future damage 🤔😊
We love you kids and your updates...but you take way too many chances with your safety. Please use more protective gear and procedures. We want to see you live a long time to enjoy your labor. We stumbled onto your channel and have been binge watching you. It is great to see someone from this generation that knows how to work hard.
One thing I noticed, you need to be wearing masks. It is unsafe for your upper respiratory health without them. Especially around the goat droppings, because you can inhale that and it twill make you very sick. The mouse droppings can do the same thing to you.
INSTEAD of collapsing ceiling into the room...build a trough from upstairs window and shovel dirt clay from ceiling and dump down trough to outside ground. Much less mess and durtyingwhT you have Lready done.
Today 2×4 are not 2×4. The old beam are the true beam measurement. However, I do agree that the two center beams need to be replaced at some point, when they have the money.
Thanks!
One more step closer to your new room. Keep keeping on.
Thank you 😊❤️, it's getting closer and closer
It looks like you’re a dentist with a huge drill and cleaning attachment but gouging the huge lump of wood rot! What fun to watch 😊
Hahaha Thank you glad you enjoy our videos 😊❤️
I am glad to see Deivid use a resporator, you never know what kind of spores could be in that wood and debris

Most restoration shows just toss out the old rotten wood. It's nice to see you bringing the old wood back to a strong purpose. ❤
You two are amazing, how you take and reuse over and over again!!
Great job guys👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Can't wait to see the house complete. Xo
I'm from Canada BTW my husband and I have been watching for just over a week I think. Where about are you in the states I think.

Scary! I know they are supporting the beams.
You need to get some spray insulation in the top of the house or its gonna be so cold this winter..
Your doing a fantastic job though
Love you two..💞

Shoot..that is a lot of work. You are so thorough.
Good job

Not even after this there is another few dirty jobs to do! 😑 It's a pain to do it but has to be done! 😊
I love his voice
It looks like you have a wood worm problem in the house. I hope in the future, you can get some treatment for that before lacquering the beams.

It scares me that this house has no concrete beams or pillars to support the walls, only bricks and old mortar.
Concrete beam was not use 203 years ago.
Everything rotten the beam need replaced bricks not good need 2x4s and sheetrock
